Description of Work: Following Superstorm Sandy, I, and thousands of others, sought qualified contractors to repair the considerable damage caused by flooding. The disaster brought many non-locals, eager to cash in on insurance claims. Without going back into my files, of the 5 HVAC pros who visited, I easily chose GM Mechanical to do the work. 'Easily', because Greg Brown showed up, explained what was needed, gave me options and his opinions on what would work best for my application, all at a manageable price. There were others who presented competitive pricing but it was the clarity of the explanation that did it for me. Due to the sheer number of jobs to be done at the shore, it took some time for GM to begin work at my property; however, once on location, the work was performed as described and continuously until completed. Two ruined gas boilers, two hot water heaters replaced with state-of-the-art Bosch units that provide heat and hot water, on demand. Since it was February, the new heaters were much appreciated. Later, the workers returned to restore and re-hang the a/c unit in the basement. Neighbors got heaters quicker than I did but none with the quality of product and installation GM is known for. Can't get much better than that!

Description of Work: Perfect in evey way. They had to install from scratch, This home was a summer only cottage. They had to install a duct system as well as the heat and AC units from scratch. We had 3 estimates, We found AC to be the most professional, easily able to contact for communication and the cost of the service was right were we wanted to pay. Other companies were lower and one company was twice as much. We felt comfortable and confident with GM mechanical and they came highly recommend. We were very pleased with the qualtiy of service and perfomance. Would defintly use again. Thank You!

water heater repair
 + -1 moreThis project included moving the new water heater to a new location, hooking into the gas line, water line and running electrical service, and also removal of our former water heater tank. They did a fantastic job, for a great price. They even helped us secure government rebates that were an option at the time to help offset the cost of this project. We have recommended them to family and friends who have hired them for HVAC as well as water heater installations. All have been completely satsified!
Description of Work: After getting a couple of estimates, we hired GM Mechanical to install a tankless hot water heater.

 + -1 moreMy experience with the technician that came out was very good. He was nice, and I liked him. His name was Tony. My experience with the office, on the phone, was poor. They weren't rude, they just acted like I was bothering them. They acted like they had too much business, and they could care less if I used them, or not. They are not the cheapest or the most expensive. The guy that came out, I would give an A. He was very professional. The people in the office I would give an F. I called them 3 times and got a different person every time. No one knew what was going on. Let's put it this way, I wouldn't call GM Mechanical again. I would not recommend them either.

 + -1 moreI received 7 estimates for a high efficiency heating and cooling system. They were mostly all very expensive. Many estimates were by "salesmen", so I did a lot of homework to understand everything about HVAC systems. GM Mechanical gave me an extremely good price for the system and installation without the big sales pitch. They also gave me the option of buying my own system from another source and providing only the labor. No other company would break out the labor and equipment costs for me even after pressuring them to provide a breakout. No other company came close to their price for labor and equipment. They obtained all the permits for me. They installed the heater in 1 day and came back to complete the AC the next day. During the city inspection, there were 2 minor problems found which they promptly fixed. They were very helpful with all the rebates and credits, so this part was very easy for me. I was extremely satisfied overall and would definitely use them again. I am recommending them to my neighbors who's systems are also having problems due to the age of the homes.

Description of Work: Within a week of my request for service, the serveman arrived ON TIME, and within an hour reconnected all heating and air conditioning ductwork in the crawlspace under the family room. He also started up the heater and stabilized my thermostat. The man was professional, efficient and extremely helpful. He really knew what he was doing. I would unhesitatingly call this company again, should the need arise. And I unequivicably recommend it. I thought I died and went to heaven.

 + -1 moreGot here right on time,removed the old heater , installed the new one,took measurments for the plenum, at the same time they measured for the PVC. Returned approx 35 min. later with the new plenum,installed it with the rest of the duct work. Ran the PVC pipe approx 40 ft.tied it into the heater, Hooked up the electric and the thermostat then put the heater thru it"s cycle. Approx 6 hr good job
