My initial contact with Joel and Rick was in June, started work in July. This is December and the 3 projects mentioned above are still pending. There has been numerous phone calls and text between Rick and myself, promises from him that he would come and complete them and he never shows up. I have finally asked him to drop the light fixture and the cover from the fan light and told him that I did want him to complete the work. I am still waiting for him...keeps giving me time and day he will stop over.

This company was spectacular. They were on time and professional. They were responsive to my concerns and very aware of time and their presence in my home. They were straight forward with the pricing and honest about what could be done and offered great suggestions and cost saving options. In general I would hire this group again without hesitation. Fair prices, excellent job, friendly and mannerly. They even saw things that needed fixing and just did it without adding to the price. Being a woman I felt very comfortable with any of the crew being in my home they were all gentleman. I can't say enough wonderful things about them and when I save up I will be hiring them again for more projects.

Joey and company was excellent as usual. They showed up on time to install garbage disposal. While he was there we mentioned him to fix faucet and screen door. Since, he didn’t not have right tool to fix the spout, he came back two days later on time as promised and fixed faucet and screen door. Very satisfied with work and would highly recommend him.

The morning of the job I sent a text asking if they made it out...no response. When I followed up the next day to see if they did the job, I got a reply stating they didn't show up because they didn't have a billing address for me. In all our back and forth they never asked for that information, but acted at the end like it was my fault (and based on replies to other poor reviews I'm sure they'll find a way to place the blame on me). So, the job I needed to get done for a new tenant goes unfinished. I'll be looking for another contractor to finish the job. Very unprofessional and disappointing. I would not recommend hiring this company for any work.

Joey and his crew are excellent. He was able to start the job well before any of the other contractors we contacted (and that's not counting the ones who never bothered to return our calls!) and arrived promptly each morning. His attention to detail is excellent, and his experience helped us immensely when it came to all the little details that need to be decided during a remodel. He didn't double- and triple-book himself, and was here all day every day getting the job done--and in 4 days as he originally estimated. It's also great that he and his crew can handle all aspects--carpentry, plumbing, electric, and painting--so there's no downtime waiting for a subcontractor to come and do their part. We will definitely use Dixie again.

I find them friendly and fun to be around. They are clean and neat. I have used them for several large jobs and I have never been unhappy.

Joey and his company (Dixie) faithfully stand behind their work. There was a recurring issue with the toilet that was installed during a major renovation at my home. The installed sani flush system broke down repeatedly. This was a problem as my shower is also tied into this system so when it broke down I lost toilet and shower access. Installing the sani flush saved me $1000s of dollars because we didn't have to dig to access the septic system. Dixie responded quickly to every call even on weekends to quickly repair the problems. Dixie then replaced the entire system including toilet, sani flush and a very handsome cover for the system. This replacement and ALL service calls were free and timely. Thank you Dixie for proving that trust, honor and a great customer service experience is alive and well. Since the system was replaced, we haven't had a single issue and we love the system.

All requested work was performed extremely well. Both Joey and Tom treated our home with respect while they were involved in very dirty jobs. They were very good at making sure there was no mess left behind with any project. I had confidence that they knew what they were doing and would definitely hire them again for any project!

Horrible! We had to meet with Joey and Rick multiple times to get the work laid out. We were told 3 man crew, 8 hour days, $100 per hour, and one week completion. We were provided two design options and had to go to Rick's home to pick up the paperwork for the permits because Joey failed to communicate the appointment twice to Rick. When we picked up the permit paperwork, the drawings were the wrong design layout. The work was supposed to start at 0800 on Monday. By 1630 on Thursday, they told me they had done over 30 hours of work. Another contractor (the one currently doing the work whom we wish we would have found first) saw the amount of work and said it was at best 8 hours for a 2 man crew at a slow pace. They tried charging me for a time I was at the home and no one was there working! I had been in contact with Rick for the project since Joey was never available and provided inaccurate information due to lack of communication with his crew members. When I voiced my concern about the lack of work being completed and the number of hours they were charging us for, Joey got loud, boisterous and combative. Rick is a great guy and should go out on his own with a better crew. The new contractors had to remove some of the work Dixie did and redo it to meet code.

The job was done right, fast, and he left no mess behind. He also gave me advice on preventing future issues in my bathroom and was extremely friendly. Great work! A+

Todd and Rory were great and while the job took longer than originally estimated, we also hadn't cleaned our gutters in 3 yrs. So to be fair, it was a lot of crud that needed to be cleaned out. Communication with the company is strictly via message broad it seems. This cleaning was scheduled for the 22nd but a got a message yesterday that they were coming out today! Unfortunately I didn't know about the message. In pop-up/emergency cases, it would probably be better to call your client. At least they can check voicemail.

Called Dixie Total Home, had used them before, Joey came right over. He said he would get us an energy efficient furnace by afternoon the next day. And of course he did. He had talked to us before about the efficiency of a new furnace. Boy we had NO idea how much it would save us. We had been getting 3, 4, 5 hundred dollars a month gas bills in the winter and more than that air conditioner bills in the summer so when our first bill for the new furnace came in at under one hundred fifty dollars I almost fainted. Never had we had a bill that low. The summer was just as good. The furnace paid for itself in the first few months we had it! Well worth the price! Thank you Dixie Total Home Maintenance! They were fine. They are a little pricey because you pay by the hour. The job took way longer then I guess anybody expected. I was actually going to have them come back and do other stuff and I had difficulty getting in contact with them. I've just otherwise decided not to. Not that there was anything wrong them; they were very nice and they were very accommodating, We could negotiate with them. I wouldn't say anything negative about them. There were two guys they were a little pricey and I really don't think they expected the job to take as long as it did. It was a tough job. They weren't able to get to the other things that I thought we were going to be able to do. They did a great job. They were very neat painters. They were very nice. I think they are very accommodating. I would recommend them. People just need to know they don't charge by the job they charge by the hour. I don't think they slacked off, it just took longer then anybody expected including me. They were fine but when I tried to get back in touch with them, they give you a website or email or something and they never answered me so I don't know if I was doing it wrong or what I'm not a techie. But it wasn't heir issue. It wasn't clear to me how to get back in contact with them I thought I was doing it right but I wasn't able to.

Excellent as always! Hired him before. Joey removed back of dryer, diagnosed and fixed problem quickly and easily. He's an expert at everything we've ever needed him for.

Started out good, they were prompt and informative. The problem came when I realized they were taking longer than estimated and not making as much progress. This concerned me as they charge $100 hour and on the 4th day the only thing complete was the repaired pipe. We had a conversation and agreed on a fair flat rate. The drywall was in progress and the recessed lights were in progress. The following week Ricky told me Joey forgot to put me on the schedule and a bunch of staff quit but he promised he would complete the work even if meant him doing it off hours. I thought great! He came out one day after that conversation and did more drywall. That was two weeks ago, every time I call I get a lame excuse. I paid them half the flat fee in cash as they requested and I'm now screwed. I have to find another contractor to come in an finish the incomplete work. Pictures of the sub-par work are below, you can see the drywall is up wrong on the ceiling and way to many seams. They talk a great game when they come out and give the estimate, sound very promising and committed but it ends there. Don't fall for the great Angie's list review, this place is nothing more than an overpriced neighborhood handyman. No professionalism at all. All about getting money as soon as possible. No commitment to customers or follow-through.

No good- they came the first time attempted to sparkle the area, didn't work came back had to remove a portion of the drywall and insert another patch spackled and told me they would be back after dried in about a week. Mind you the paste was uneven And very sloppy. finally I gave up and just hired someone else to do the job

I really appreciate this company for its dedication to pleasing their customers. I've had nothing but great experiences and the quality and cost remains always fair. Joey and team replaced tub, plumbing, surround, paint, and trim work. I have a very discerning wife who was very pleased with the result . The owner is easy to get a hold of and responds quickly. Excellent warranty and Joey and team respond quickly to any problems and concerns. Great company. Great owner . Highly recommend.

Never got a call back. Not calling back anyone at all is bad business and lousy customer service even if its a few days later. Its Unprofessional Especially for a business who has a advertisement number in Lowes Hardware store.

Everything was excellent. The work was done over a few days, and the men who came were professional, courteous, and cleaned up well after themselves. The work that they did is fantastic and they went above and beyond to make sure that everything was done to our satisfaction. I will use them again and will recommend them to anyone who needs home maintenance completed!

Great! I was nervous from a previous terrible experience of a contractor not caring but these guys cared how my kitchen looked as if it was their own kitchen. I am thrilled with the final product!!!

Dixie Total Home Maintenance installed a new central air conditioner and heating unit the summer of 2014 for 10,000 dollars. Unfortunately, the A/C unit is not working. I have called several times, left two voice messages and no one has called back to assist with this issue. I also left a message on Angie’s list requesting a phone call back but instead Dixie Total Home Maintenance sent me a message via Angie’s list stating the below. “I believe the message is quite clear.” “We are no longer allowed to work on AC in NJ. The licensing changed in 2016. You will have to fine someone else.” A phone call would have been greatly appreciated and I invite whomever is considering to use this company to please reconsider.
