Somebody backed their car into my street-side mailbox and broke the post beyond repair. Joey's guys came out, during the covid pandemic, and replaced the post. They did a great job and I would definetly hire Dixie THM again. Thanks Joey

This company is just the best. Joey always finds ways to save money for me, and comes up with great designs. Love the bathroom, it was so easy for my mom to shower after the wheelchair accessible bathroom was put it.

Power washing and general maintenance
Description of Work: I hired this contractor to powerwash my house, deck, and fence. Two employees came to the house, worked for a few minutes, and then had to stop because the power washer ran out of gas. They stopped power washing for about 30 minutes to get gas. When they came back they began power washing my deck and they stripped the paint clean off of it in a couple of places. The paint flew into my neighbors yard and landed all over her mulch. Paint went into her air conditioner as well. After the neighbor screamed at them and us, we asked one of the employees to please clean up the mess in our neighbors yard but they didn't. Instead they tried to convince me to spend $400 on new decking. All told they did about 40 minutes of powerwashing that day but they billed me for two hours. I wanted them to finish the next day but they didn't. They powerwashed some parts of the house and skipped others. They also caulked some window capping and it looks awful and unprofessional. They sprayed some type of foam on the entrance above my front door and it looks comically bad. To their credit, they did go over and do some cleaning at my neighbors house. They then sent me a bill for more hours than they worked and it appears they charged me for the time they spent cleaning up at my neighbors house. I now have to pay someone else to do the powerwashing. I also have to pay to have their work on the window and entrance redone. The deck will have to be repainted now as well. I was considering repainting my deck before but now I have no choice in the matter. I'm extremely sad over this. I liked Joey personally and he did good work at my house over the years. Unfortunately the two employees that were sent to my house just did a horrible job. Take any response to this review with a grain of salt--the person writing it never came to my house and has no first-hand knowledge of what occurred.

This is an example of a customer who knew what she wanted. She told me what she was looking for. I told her ways that we could do this save money. She agreed. We got to work and made what she was looking for happen. Two things on this one. One she called because her son told her that the first time I gave an estimate and was the most honest of the guys that was there. That's kind of cool. Secondly she thought the shower was going to be much smaller. I would never sell you a small shower.

It took a while only because the original hole was too small and door was metal. New strike plate and hole and bolt hole was part of the work. Overall price was above quoted price but did take a while for them to get it done. I feel the price was fair for the work out in.

Project completed by another contractor. Price quoted by Dixie Total Home Maintenance was almost double than what I paid. Sent email to Dixie with questions, no response so I went with another contractor.

We were contacted once asking for a price. We quoted him at $300 and he was getting the materials. He never asked any questions or contacted us after that. We understand that we cost a bit more than some others but we are a licensed, insured contractors who warrant our work. We are not hacks that you can hire off of Craigslist so please do not compare us to those guys. We warrant everything that we do. We stand behind our work. Our work is code or better. If you have an issue we will come and solve it for you. Please read reviews from folks who know a thing about how we work.

I would not recommend these guys for anything. Nice guys but horrible workmanship. So many things I don’t know where to start. Joey, the owner?, came and did the initial estimate and then I never saw him again. Also, you can’t reach him by phone, he only communicates by email (should have been my first clue). Took them four days to sheetrock a 6x7 bathroom? Taping is horrible, uneven, etc. Vanity drawer was hitting the drain, their suggestion was to cut off the legs, I had them notch the drawer instead. Relocated the light and they were going to leave the old box there and cover it with a plate! We were re-Sheetrocking anyway so had them do it right. Bathroom door wouldn’t close when they left. But those are the little things. The real issues were 1) the niches in the shower look horrible even after I had them redo them and 2) the tiles on the floor are sticking up all over the place because they tried to level the floor by eyeballing the thinset rather than leveling it first and then laying the tile. And because of that, today I noticed that my toilet, which rocks, is now leaking so I’ll have to fix that myself! In addition, they were supposed to be done in two weeks but weren’t so they came a few more days the third week and then had to move on to another job so they came on the weekends to finish my job. Just paid another contractor $3k to demo and redo the tile and niches in the shower the right way. Needless to see, my wife and I are extremely disappointed with the work done by Dixie Total Home Maintenance and would never recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: Total gut and remodel of 6.5’ x 7’ bathroom. Re-Sheetrock walls and ceiling. Install new tub, toilet, vanity/sink. Install tile in shower area and on walls up to 36-42” high. Install floor tile. Install new lights and fan. Paint walls and ceiling.

Never got a single email. Never heard any complaints. We were there for 2 weeks and every issue or question was addressed as far as we knew. As far as the vanity he knows we asked first. The choice is redo the plumbing or cut around the valve. He chose cut around. Not us. Moving the plumbing would have been a bit more hence his decision. I am still willing to do what it takes to make him happy as he was a good guy. As for myself not being there I have confidence in my guys. Our customers like having the same guy when possible so we try to accommodate. Alex has many customers who love him. We take full responsibility for any issues but its a 2 way street.

Very well. There was one project that was a problem. As soon as I discovered it & contacted them, they came out the very next day & corrected it. This is what makes a reliable company & worthy of a high rating.
Description of Work: restore the bottom of a shed that the wood was rotting. rebuild an air conditioner frame & install bathtub grab bars. Also trim some branches.

I have requested Dixie to come back to do a bunch of other projects. Replacing the flapper stopped the existing problem, but the whole inside of the toilet tank probably needs to be replaced. They did not charge me for replacing the flapper because they will be coming back.

We did an estimate on 28 Sept. During that weekend we got a customer who was basically taken for a ride by their contractor She was left without a downstairs. We have taken every available opportunity to help her get her to where she can actually have a kitchen. This has closed anytime we may have had. I know he couldn't know that but there are other people who have it worse. Sorry we couldn't meet your expectations but we are only 3 trucks right now.

My toilet broke and my CO detector was blaring. I called Joey and he got right back to me. He told me my gas range was probably on. Sure enough, I had leaned against it and the knob was turned. He stopped right over to look at my toilet and fixed it immediately. Love this company.

I had a whole day's worth of projects for Dixie to complete, some small and some more complicated. They were very competent and thorough. The workers were polite and cleaned up everything. I had a long list, and they went down the list and completed each project. They are coming back in the fall to paint the pressure treated wood they installed around the garage door (The old wood had rotted.). I will definitely use them again in the future when the need arises.

Found Joey and his team ( Alex & Alex) at Dixie Total Home Maintenance through " Angie's List." What Lifesavers! Hired one of my coworkers to help me with renovations on my townhouse! Big mistake and nightmare! Gave him a lot of money for SLOPPY, MESSY, UNPROFESSIONAL work. Joey's guys ( Alex & Alex) came in on time and did an AWESOME job and finished/corrected A LOT of what my AWFUL, INCOMPETENT, LAZY contractor did or did not do. They were very friendly, reliable, efficient, and CLEAN! And very reasonable! As a matter of fact will have them retile my bathroom floor now! Would HIGHLY recommend them! Michael/Clementon, NJ

Woke up this morning to no heat. Called Joey at 6:30 and he said he and crew would be right over. When he got here, he found my ignitor had frozen. They fixed it by 11:00 and I was finally warm. You can't get better service than that.

Very well. They were here early in the morning and they did everything I asked. Re the door insulation: They put up insulation where two other people told me it could not be done without getting a whole new door. They did the outdoor work in the cold. They cleaned up all the mess from the front door.

After several other estimates, I went with Dixie. I was given a free estimate! All the workmen were polite, professional and go above and beyond. After taking the existing tile down, they fixed the the mold issue and leak. They did an awesome job replacing the tile and patching the hole in the kitchen ceiling! I will use them for other projects for sure and will refer them to anyone I know. Also, the price was great! Shout out to Jeremy who was the main worker on the job! Thanks so much!
