Have used Joey and his crew before. They used to work solely as labor; you purchase the materials and they install. As I have some DIY skills, that works well for me because I usually know what I need. As the company expanded, they can now purchase materials if needed, or will recommend items for you to purchase. Work was spread over several days. The attic steps were installed in one long day; I had hoped they could floor it as well, but they were breaking in a new crew member so things took longer than the crew lead expected. Still, work was done well, and I was charged for the labor time it SHOULD have taken, not the actual labor time, which was absolutely fair. The bathroom and siding was spread over three days. On the first day, the crew (more experienced this time) did all the demo in the half bath (removed sink, toilet, and old tile) as well as repaired the siding. On the second day, they installed the floor tile I provided. On the third day, they installed the toilet, the vanity, the baseboards, and grouted the floor. They communicated well any questions, had some good suggestions, and the royal we (my wife) is very happy with the results. I was very happy with the results on the siding, and happy as well with the attic steps. Quality of work is excellent (demo, flooring, fixture installation, exterior siding) to very good (attic steps). Crew was always on time, company was always responsive, and I had no problem leaving them in my home while we were out of the house (I work and my wife had to make quick trips to kids' schools). Would definitely hire again.
Description of Work: Hired them this time to perform three jobs in total. First was to install attic steps; second was to repair some siding on the second floor of my home; third was remodeling a half bathroom, NOT including wallpaper removal, wall repair, and painting (I did those myself).

Quick response. Exceptional work. Reliable service. Joey and his team respond quickly and stand behind their work. After hiring Dixie to perform a major renovation , I've needed them to come address some warranty work over the last couple of months . The answer calls quickly, even on weekends, and show up to address any and all issues. This company always backs their work. I highly recommend them if you're looking for quality work , quick response , and a friendly, staff of professionals. Thanks Dixie, you continue to prove that I made the right choice when I brought you in to work in my home.

The guys were great: Punctual, personable and professional. The plumbing for the new sink/faucet that I had purchased didn't quite line up with the existing pipe out of the wall (vanity was a different depth), and the guys went above and beyond fashioning a pipe and fitting that would work--at no extra charge, even though it added time to the job.

We will take the high road and say that my Mom said if you have nothing nice to say then leave it alone. She added some pix I see. Nothing to do with the project. We tarped but you won't hear that. We did flood the basement but came out that same day, cleaned and vacuumed up water, removed flooring installed fans and offered to replace which she refused. She thought we would do so when we did the basement. But you won't hear that. No thank you. Good luck with life. Try being......sorry mom. Almost forgot.

Awesome...pleasure to work with, and very professional...had to also piece and repair some asbestos shingle pieces...can't tell there was ever any damage.
Description of Work: Replace a door with a window and install railing on backstep.
Joey and Ryan came to do the estimate and came up with good solutions and offered good advice on how to approach certain aspects of the project. Ryan and Alex returned to do the work very quickly, and the quality of their work was excellent. They were polite, hard-working and tidy. I really appreciated their excellent attitudes. I had work to do at the house many of the days they were there, and they were good company in addition to being good carpenters and painters. The only downside: The project was estimated to take four or five days, but ended up taking eight. We roughly split the cost of the overage, which seemed fair. I'm a very satisfied customer.
Description of Work: Prepping a house for sale: Painting entire interior of house, power washing outside, painting shutters, installing dry wall in closet, installing new front door, moving a storm door, changing out door handles and locks, installing a new exhaust hood over stove, etc.

Another great job by Dixie THM. Here's some of the things Joey and Alex did: 1) They raised a kitchen cabinet about 4" and installed a new microwave; 2) My new Home Depot installed slide-in gas range was sticking out about 4" beyond the countertops because the gas shut off valve was too high and the installers did not level-off the stove. Joey and Alex pulled out the range, added a new floor below it and adjusted the gas valve so that my range now lies flush against the back wall. This was a good 3-4 hour job; 3) They installed my new Bosch dishwasher; 4) They wall-mounted the top half of an old vintage hutch to a blank kitchen wall. I was going to throw the hutch out, but now it has new life; and 5) They fixed a loose plank ceiling tile. I added a picture of the kitchen miscrowave install, but keep in mind this picture is before painting, new countertops, and new backsplash. I totally recommend Dixie THM!

Terrible. This company hires new people who have no experience and then puts these "new guys" on jobs. They do horrendous work and do not own up to any mistakes. The owner is a nice enough guy but will just "yes" you to death and nothing actually gets accomplished. We had to bring in a second contractor to correct the mistakes made by this company.

As mentioned before, during the middle of last year we were swamped by the number of awesome Angie folks we got and were not ready. Plain and simple. People we hired would lie about their level of competence. Anyone who has had to hire in NJ knows what I am speaking of. On this job we were asked for a complete kitchen remodel including the moving enlarging a wall opening from 3' to 11'. They do not mention we passed all inspections. They do not mention we tried to make things right. They did not mention we worked for a month without ever receiving a payment. We did earn this grade. But no more. Anyone who is now bought in is required to work with me until I feel they are ready. Anyone who says they know something and do not is immediately let go. ZERO TOLERANCE. Our recent reviews are glowing and are due to changes made after two jobs last year that we definitely failed on. The other was also during mid-summer last year. We are human. But we love the format on Angie that allows you to keep us in check. We apologize for letting them down.
The workmanship and guys were very professional. The kitchen cabinets were a do over from another painter Donegans Painting (don't use them) who refused to even get back to us about their work. They never sanded which made them easy to chip off. Joey sanded all the cabinets and re painted.
Description of Work: We had doors replaced with 6 panel doors and majority of the house was painted. Kitchen Cabinets were also painted.

These folks are very smart. Here is how they got thsi project done. 1 They started will a partition wall removal. 2 We then installed a backsplash. 3 Then we installed all the flooring thru out the downstairs. We do not like installing the qtr rnd cause it makes it look like an add on. 4 We remove the trim. They chose a new trim which we installed next. 5We then installed the island and some new lighting over the new island. 6 They had a painting company coming to do the cabinets. That did not go as planned and we redid the painting on the cabinets. 7 We prepped and painted the entire home walls, ceilings and trim. 8 Then we installed new 6 panel door slabs and painted white. Thsi is a smart way to use us. Do the project one step at a time. Get what you want at each stage. We can install anything. We are very happy that they love our work but even more happy we could get the cabinets to a point where she was in love with her kitchen again.

Great folks who wanted a kitchen remodel. First we removed a half wall. We installed an island and the rest of the cabinets. New vinyl flooring and some paint and it looks like a totally different house. The cabinets they chose from their guy are very beautiful. They also had a new window installed by us and have commented how the wind no longer freezes him outta the kitchen. NICE!

Work was done in a timely manner and in less time than original estimate. I asked them to perform additional work like painting a room and a difficult to fix a water leak. They were able to do this work plus original work in same time. We are very happy with the work. If I ever need any work done in my home, I will be contacting Dixie THM first! I would like to thank Joey and his crew for professional work.

Awesome folks who at first did not believe we were this good. Some companies say they do it all, but we actually do. Here we were asked to remodel a bathroom. While there he asked if we could repair the front porch ceiling which was installed incorrectly and was currently hanging. No problem. He asked if we could paint an additional room. No problem. When done we were able to do everything in the time allotted for the bathroom only.

Someone built some rather unusual boxes that had no chance to get done what she wanted. We designed something on the fly that worked well with her home. She has 2 peaks and 2 valleys. These where on the valleys and so we designed them the look like they were always there. A fun project that helped someone with a easy to fix problem.

Job took three times as long, cost three times as much as was originally quoted and the work was amateurish. Whole house was filked with dust. Did not cover furniture/closets properly, did not properly finish corners. Follow on painter was appaled at the work they did. They did not leave a paint ready job. DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THEY ARE A ANGIES LIST AWARD WINNER FOR THREE YEARS IN A ROW. I made them quit before they did the last two bedrooms. It is very hard to photograph just how bad this job is, but I tried. Fourth photo is of my dust covered suits in a closet. Never want them back in my house again. Am canceling Annie's List membership. SEE PICTURES.

it started out well but slid down hill very quickly. Their pricing is very reasonable but that doesn't mean squat if they don't show up to do the work. They arrived at my house on the agreed upon date but were an hour late. That, however, wasn't a problem because they get paid by the hour not the job but it was an indication of problems to follow. They replaced the drywall, removed the toilet and vanity, relocated the water pipes for a new vanity and applied the first coat of spackle. That was on November 10th and 11th. Today is December 3rd. They have not been back since. On November 11 I was told that they would return on November 25 at 9 AM to put another coat of spackle on before the the tile was installed on November 30. I asked "Are you sure you want to do this on Black Friday" and Rick said that's not a problem. He never showed up. No response to calls or texts. The following week he told me he went to Florida for a vacation but would be over to do the work on the 30th while the floor was being torn up. Again he was a no show and no response to my attempts to contact him. He called me on December first and said they had to respond to a plumbing emergency that took all day and that he couldn't contact me because his phone stopped working but he would be here on Saturday between 9 am and 10 am. Guess what ......no show or call. During all this time I made numerous calls to the Dixie office but never received a call back. I am sooooo glad that i had someone else do the floor. It cost me more but it was completed in 3 days and looks great. I will now get another company to finish the bathroom and basement. Unless you are in no rush to have your work done and don't mind being lied to I would avoid using Dixie. They are nice guys but I found them to be unreliable.
Description of Work: I had a water leak from the toilet in powder room into my basement. Dixie was hired to replace the drywall in the basement and powder room and paint both. They were supposed to remove my old toilet and vanity and replace with new. Originally Dixie was going to also install a ceramic floor in the powder room and adjacent kitchen but because i chose expensive tile I chose to have the tile company do the tile install. Dixie was to replace all of the wall molding in both the kitchen and powder room when the tile work was completed.
I had contracted with Dixie Total Home Maintenance about 6 weeks ago. I was well aware they keep pretty busy - probably because they do such good work! They were scheduled to arrive around 9am on 10/31, and they were absolutely on time and ready to go. Rick and Ryan got right to work, and did an exceptional job - along with providing a great deal of comic relief during the course of their time here. They are quite a pair! Both are exceptionally polite, friendly, funny, and a great team. The entire day had been scheduled for the work that needed to be done, and I fully expected it would require the full day. However, they finished early, and instead of the $700 full day rate for their work, I was only charged for the time they were actually here, which came to $490 including tax and supplies, of course. I am more than pleased and I have absolutely no doubt that this business will be first on my list when I need additional work done after the new year. Thanks, Dixie Total Home Maintenance!
Description of Work: Masonry work - brick repair on front steps, installation of baseboard in a large living room, 30 ft. hallway, and two bedrooms, changing out 3 outlets, and installing new trim on 3 floodlights.
The project of I installing a powder room began June 20,2016. It was suppose to take 2 weeks. It was not completed until August 25,2016. It was not due to any problems. They just frequently pro ised to come and didn't come or call. When they do come their work is excellent. However, the time element is unacceptable. The other complaint I have is they left they never installed an access panel to my bathroom which left a hole in my wall. I had to pay someone else to do that.

These are nice folks who were with us during the process of growing and we definitely did not get the usual Dixie service as we were attempting to grow and simply did not have the right folks. One of the hardest things to do is find guys in this business that care about their work. They tell you they know it all and then they wind up calling every 2 minutes asking questions about the basics of home repair. It is a problem I am sure y'all have had to deal with at one point or another. We had a bad stretch from early June to late Aug. In fact most of our grades that are negative happened during this stretch of time and we have definitely stepped it up. I personally take everyone of these "I KNOW EVERYTHING" guys with me and I give them the rope. Its up to them what happens next. Since then we have gotten good guys with great attitudes. We take full responsibility for the grade and we definitely earned it. We apologize for letting her down. She deserved better. This will not happen again.

We built an In-law suite and we warrant our work. You never know what will happen and it will usually happen in the time you are actually using it. Hence our warranty. We warrant our work for one year and thats means no matter the problem you do not pay if the problem was install. You paid to have it done right and we will make sure that any problems that crop up, and they will, we will get on asap. This guy has been an awesome customer and we are so glad he is happy about our warranty.

Everything went really well. Joey and his crew did a good job painting my shed. They also replaced several rotted out boards. There were several large tree branches hanging over the shed's roof and they got up there with a chain saw and chopped them down, possibly saving me hundreds of dollars paying a tree service to do the same job. There are also a few shingles messed up by squirrels. Joey said if he has any left over shingles from another job, he will come over and replace them at no charge. This was my third job for Dixie Total Home Maintenance and I plan to continue using them.

The two-man team showed up on time and they got right to work pressure washing and prepping for painting. What I really appreciated was that they checked with me to be sure that I knew the painting would only get me about 3-5 years before the deck needed a total replacement. They did this before taking the money or beginning the work. I already had figured this, but still appreciated it. After the first day of work (they only charged me for the time they actually spent there even though I had booked them for the day) they left with my paint color selections (one color for the deck and another color for the rails) and picked it up for me on the way back the next morning. The painting day was a long day for them due to how large our deck is. They worked passed their normal stop time and they weren't taking long breaks for fooling around. The deck is admittedly larger than I was able to describe over the phone and I don't expect Joey to remember our deck dimensions since the last time he was at our house was a year before. That being said, they had to schedule an additional day of work to finish the job. These guys are very busy but they were able to make some time and when they came back, I threw replacing the old lattice at them in addition to the painting (I had already purchased the lattice). My mother was at the house that day watching our son and she commented to me that they worked very hard the whole day with no breaks to finish the painting and get the lattice up. The deck looks so much better now, and there are no more splinters coming up. We are very happy with the work they did. As always, I appreciate their honesty and time-consciousness. They are very popular, so they don't want their jobs to drag on any more than you do. They will be back at my house for our next project soon enough!
Description of Work: Very large deck was starting to deteriorate due to the previous protective finish wearing off. During a previous job at my house, Joey had recommended we use a protective resurfacing paint product until we were ready to replace the wood.
