Warning: Never do business with this company. He said he would order the parts and I would be contacted in about one week. I never heard from them again. He completed an invoice, writing quite a bit on it, but never gave me a copy of it. I called GE Appliance today and they said my repair case had been cancelled, but they didn't know why. They suspected it had been cancelled by Five Star Appliance, which doesn't make any sense, but doesn't really matter. The fact is Five Star Appliance never followed through on the repair they were hired to do. Now, we have to start the process again, this time with a GE Factory Service Technician. I contacted Five Star Appliance. One of their listed phone numbers is incorrect. The second number results in a voice message indicating their mailbox is full and cannot receive any new messages.
Description of Work: As my microwave is under warranty, I contacted GE Appliance for repair. A technician from Five Star Appliance Repair came out on May 4th, did a cursory inspection of my microwave--it wasn't heating--and told me it either needed to be replaced or it needed an extensive repair. He said it was his experience that GE opted to repair rather than replace.

Very rude. Lied to extended warranty company. Had another company come out and fixed dishwasher problem right away for a lot less.

After listening to his nonsense for a few minutes, I told him to pack up his tools and get out. I was insulted by his ridiculous diagnosis and his denial that he ever predicted the failure of this machine. Furthermore, he was so angry at being thrown out, he threw my storm door open with such force, it almost broke. Not my idea of a professional.
Description of Work: This was the second time I used Five Star to service my washer/dryer combo. The first instance could not have been better. This one could not have been worse. One their first trip, after repairing the problem, I was advised to expect trouble with the spin cycle as the machine was not properly leveled at time of installation. Obviously, we leveled the machine at that time. As predicted, the washer is no longer spinning properly. It frequently spins off balance and will not spin at high speed, which results in excessively wet clothes at the end of the cycle. I called Five Star to fix the machine under the manufacturer's warranty. Without ever seeing the machine operate. Bob the technician diagnosed the issue as being caused by my detergent. and denied he ever predicted an impending spin problem. That is absurd. I contacted the detergent manufacturer and they also agreed. How can soap prevent a machine from going into high speed spin, and obviously soap is not heavy enough to unbalance a load. Even though my first experience with Five Star was superb, this instance was so horrendous, I strongly recommend you call someone else for you service.

M y range needed two fans,and refridgerator needed a new water and ice dispenser. Both were back in service within one week. Bob did a great job
Description of Work: Work done a warranty claim. Parts were order and range was repaired in by the end of the same week.

My 5 year extended warranty policy that I purchased through Home Depot was cancelled/voided. He called them and told them I had misused the dishwasher and he found large chucks of food in the drain. He also claimed there were paper napkins in the drain all of which was not true. No one called me. I initiated the call to see what was happening so I could get my dishwasher repaired. It was the Warranty company who told me he had called.
Description of Work: Came out on a 5 year Extended Warranty call on a two year old GEdishwasher. I had to call to see why no one had arrived at the designated time and received no call back as I had to leave a message. When the technician showed up. He opened the dishwasher and immediately started to question our usage. It became quickly apparent by his questions that his job was to nullify the warranty. I told him it would sometimes drain and sometimes not. He looked under the sink and asked about the garbage disposal..We told him it was fairly new. He never took anything apart. Within a half hour time he told us we misused the appliance and there was food particles in the drain and grease so the pump needs to be replaced and he didn't think the warranty insurance would cover it and I would need a new dishwasher. I reaffirmed that I rinsed my dishes as much as I didn't think one should need to. He told us he had to go back to his office and talk to his manager.

Extremely satisfied.
Description of Work: He arrived on time on the day scheduled. Diagnosed issue. Order part. Called within a week to set an appointment to install new part. Set appointment for next day. He arrived on time on the correct day. Installed the new part and thoroughly checked out the washer. All good. It is refreshing to find a service company that makes promises and keeps them while also exceeding expectations. Great job!
