Bovio Rubino Service

Al was very knowledgeable and honest. Knew what the problem was right away and explained how it all worked!

The Bovio representative showed up within the time frame & was very professional. I was told the heater had a piece that needed to be cleaned. The hot water heater was working when he left. After 2 days I was experiencing the same problem again. The hot water heaters pilot would spark but it would not light & the pilot goes our after 5 seconds. Anyway I called the company again. I was told someone would call be back. This went on for 3 days. I was finally able to speak with a manager almost a week later. I was them told that I would have to replace the piece of equipment that was initially cleaned. I would however have to pay for another service call despite the fact that the initial service call only solved the issue for 2 days. Anyway I decided that I needed my heater working properly so I told them to please order the part. They never called me again & the repair has still not been complete. I am still in search of a company that services tankless water heaters.

I have Bovio come out to my house in the fall and spring to complete preventative maintenance on my heating and air conditioning systems. I use them because I believe they provide quality workmanship at a good price. I also use them because they installed my new systems about 7 years ago. I was very impressed with Mr. Bovio when he came to my home to give me an estimate on the new heating and air conditioning units, and I have used them ever since.

All workmen/salesmen were on time and courteous and professional. Timeline was established and work was completed. Joseph, from sales, was excellent. He has a great understanding of the work to be performed and was very helpful in guiding us to the correct equipment.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was fine, no problems. I was happy with the service they did. In fact, I have quotes from them for a couple other jobs.

Courteous tech - took his time with the job. Disappointed the debris (leaves, etc) was not removed from AC units as we are seniors who can not do it ourselves. We asked about a noisy blower on one heater ( NOT expecting the cost of any needed repair would be included in the price of the tune ups) and were told to use a different filter but it is still noisy. Subsequent to buying this tune up package, I have seen cheaper prices advertised so may use another provider next year.

As always, the Rubino service person was great to work with. Les was the plumber who handled the sump pump work this time -- he was very He tested the sumps, cleaned them out to make sure they were operational, checked the parts, tested everything and offered recommendations for keep the pumps running. He also gave me good advice for questions about sewer line replacements. I can't say enough about how knowledgeable, thorough, helpful, cost-conscious and professional he was. I use Rubino not just for plumbing but for my heating/air conditioning needs .& service too - they're great.

Rubino is listed on the NJ Clean Energy Program web site as being a Home Performance Contractor. They performed a free energy audit, talked with me about the amount of money I was looking to spend, and then delivered a quote/proposal for work that would allow me to qualify for the rebate and financing available through the NJ state Clean Energy Program. They proposed a new boiler, indirect hot water heater (brand not specified), and required air sealing. The quote did not have separate prices for the boiler and water heater so it was not possible to determine what they were charging. At the time, I suspected that the reason for this was that they adjust their pricing based on the amount that a customer will receive as a rebate--basically charging more because they know that the customer will be receiving a rebate. Not feeling comfortable with this proposal, I reached out to another company listed on the NJ Clean Energy Program web site. The quote I received from the 2nd company is much more reasonable than the quote from Rubino. For example, the cost of the new boiler and water heater quoted by the 2nd company was cheaper by the same amount as the rebate calculated by Rubino (AND the 2nd company was able to provide clear pricing for each item). If you are considering using Rubino to do work as part of this program, I highly recommend getting a 2nd quote from a company who will provide detailed pricing. My experience with them left me feeling like there was something fishy going on with their pricing.

I was initially satisfied with the work done on 01/31/13. The back-up electric heater was hooked up and ran well throughout the winter. As such, I didn't hesitate to call Bovio when there was a leak in the geothermal system on 06/01/2013. When no one from Bovio called me in the morning of 06/03/13 (as promised by the pricey inspection technician on 06/01/13), I called them in the afternoon and was told by the service coordinator that the technicians "never" tell customers when to expect service calls and that everything is scheduled out of the office. I was also surprised to hear that the service coordinator had no information at all regarding the need for a geothermal specialist to come to my home. Bovio did, however, set up a service appointment during the call for 06/05/13. When I had a different company come on 06/03/2013, I was additionally surprised to hear that the back-up electric heater was connected incorrectly by the Bovio technician on 01/31/13. It was running whenever the geothermal unit was running, regardless of whether the geothermal was heating or cooling the house.

Bovio, came in when they said, they did call about 1/2 hr before to tell me they were on their way ., he said that my sprayer was bad, and i needed to replace whole faucet., he went to store , bought the faucet and came back within the hour, replaced faucet, it works fine , very professional job., a little expensive, but i did need one., $ 300.00 , i thought was a little steep, but he had to buy the part, I am satisfied with the work, i have no more leaking or wet cabinets,

It turned out well. The service guy was friendly and even though he was busy, he was very positive, and he even did additional work and checked air vents and ducts. The service turned out good.

The job went great Our technician, Mike Conte, initially installed our heater and a/c coil. He did great then he certainly didn't disappoint this time. Mike demonstrated a wonderful knowledge of his trade. His ability allays any concern the I might have had. The job was completed in a competent expeditious manner. Very satisfied with my new HVAC system. Would definitely recommend Mike and the Rubino team.

It went good. They were very professional. They explained the energy star program.

They were unbelievable! They had a crew out over two days to complete all the work. They were on time, friendly & respectful of my home taking care to cover floors & leave no mess. The work performed was approx. $16 k but after rebates & NJ incentive I owe under $10k which I am financing over 10 yrs at zero percent interest. I am told that based on the savings I will see on my PSE&G bill the loan will pay for itself. This was a win, win situation & I would not have even known about the program if it was not for Rubino's. Everyone from the person answering the phone straight to final inspection were great.

All in All it went well. Salesman was good, installers were professtional. It was alot of work that was done, I did not have any air returns in the house at all. I feel I got a good high efficiency unit that will save me money in the long run.

Overall, excellent experience. I have never had any problems with Bovio. They are exceptional from the moment that you place a call for service until the work is finished. They stand behind their workmanship 100% , honor their warranties , even help out with ideas to keep your unit working properly. I highly recommend them to everyone.

He could not figure out how to configure the air system to the house. He told me that he would need to think about it for 3 days and then get back to me. I even recommended to him how I would think it would be installed, but I never heard back from him. I had another guy come out and took care of it in no time, and he put it right down through the closet like I told the other guy.

I received multiple local estimates to have this work performed in my house (Vaughn, Horizon and Bovio). While Bovio was not the least expensive estimate, it was also not the most expensive. What set them apart from both of the other estimates was their recommendations for how to alleviate the major temperatures differences between my finished basement and the upstairs of my home. They added an additional heat register and more returns throughout my home to help balance out the tempertature differences. While still not perfect, the balance is certainly much better than it was before. The gentlemen that worked in my home were punctual, and kept the mess to a minimum. They researched all of the available rebtate that I was eligible for and completed many of those documents for me to simply sign. My heater is quiet and appears to be working well. Bovio indicated that they would need to come out closer to the summer months to insure that my AC unit was working properly so assuming that they complete that follow-up without any problems, I would say that I am overall very pleased with their workmanship and service.

They were very professional. It took a week to finish the job. The work under the crawl space was the easiest because they didn't have to enter the house. The teams that put in the heater, air conditioner and hot water heater were very good and cleaned up after themselves. The work in the attic was messier because they had had to remove old insulation and to move things out of the attic. I had surgery the day that they moved things back into the attic and things were not put back where I wanted them. I called Frank and he sent out a crew the same week and they moved everything where I needed it to be. Frank told me to keep them as long as I needed to put things in the right places.

For new equipment quotes they were higher than competitors and used high pressure tactics. New contractor showed us where repairs made by Rubino were improper and could have caused additional problems/
