After paying about $100 in shipping and being ignored several times I wrote the FTC a letter. Updated 8/2/12: I?m requesting a full refund from Tyent that I?m entitled to according to the letter I received from the Federal Trade Commission. I no longer want to be a Tyent customer. I purchased a Tyent 7070 with a 5 year warranty. It started leaking about a year later. After numerous calls and a letter I received a replacement unit, but then had difficulty getting replacement filters, resulting down time while trying filters. In November 2011 the replacement unit started leaking, resulting in more down time. My requests for a shipping label to return it were ignored. I paid the postage myself, returned it twice, total shipping about $130.00. Both times the unit was returned still leaking. I paid $1995.00 plus return shipping. I contacted Angie?s List and sent the Federal Trade Commission all the documents. Someone from Tyent told Angie?s List I owed Tyent $1254.84. NOT TRUE. Attached is a statement that I paid this in full. When I received a notice from Highland Credit that owed Tyent money I called and explained I was on auto pay. Highland said it was a Tyent bookkeeping error, and not to worry, it wouldn?t affect my credit. I paid the money to Highland, in full, AND in advance of the due date. (See statement from Highland). The letter I received from the Federal Trade Commission states that after two attempts to get a replacement, I have a right to a full refund of $1995.00 and to be reimbursed for the postage of $124.23, (and any additional expenses I incur trying to get this resolved). Please send a check for $2,119.23 and a prepaid return label so I can return the unit, and notify FTC.
Description of Work: My water puifier and ionizer started leaking and I asked to send it back to be repaired and they told me I had to pay the postage. I did. When I got it back it had two leaks. I was told that the hose was not installed properly even though they were on when they sent it to me. They then sent it back to me a second time. The unit was still leaking from the bottom. I then called back and was given several contradicting statements.

Response from Tyent USA LLC
This customer placed an order for this unit 4 years ago. She put $525.00 down and requested to be on a payment plan for $124.58 for 12 months. After failing to make her third payment, we reached out to her for an explanation. She claimed that her unit was leaking and she didn't want to pay for it until it was fixed. When we received the unit back it appeared as though the hoses were intentionally and forcefully pulled out. Despite this, we promptly fixed and returned the unit within four days. After three additional years of non-payment, she has now resurfaced with an request for a refund. She still owes us $1,245.84! WE reached out yesterday but received no call back.
