RC Heating & Air Conditioning

I was the very first review posting for this company on Angieslist. After a two year battle, I won my case against this company. They are refusing to pay the judgement against them and are saying they are exploring the possibility of bankruptcy as an option. My opinion is that a good, respectable company that stands behind their employees, workmanship and experience, would do the right thing in a situation like this. Everyone makes mistakes. If they had done the right thing from the start, I would have had a way different review and a huge respect for a company that admits their mistake and makes it right. More then likely, I'll never see a dime of the money they owe me so I will have to put out another $10K to have the entire failed system replaced.

They ended up not being able to do the job as specified. The job they did turned into a nightmare. The unit was installed within a couple of days, but for one year I had to call them to come back to fix problems and do something about the fact that the temperature in my house with the new heater would not get above 60 degrees. I ended up taking so much time off from work to meet them to fix things. At one point they ended up draining the condensation onto my roof which froze like a water fall. They then said they had to drain into my bath tub!! I said NO, I'm not having a heater drain in my bath tub, so they ended up draining into pipe in the shower which is against code. House is cold all winter. I myself had to go and tape up 2 inch gaps that they left between the heater and the main for the vents; I have pictures of all the gaps that I had to tape up. All that air was blowing into my attic. This winter it remains to be seen if my house will get warm enough. I am still paying for this heater!!

The guy that came out was very courteous and on time. He told me exactly what he did, gave me feedback on my A/C. IT worked beautifully for the summer. It was great, and a very good deal!

They showed up on time , displayed excellent professionalism . They found nothing wrong and were honest enough to not try and charge me for something I didn't need. I would used their services in the future.

RC Heating replaced my air conditioner, furnace and water heater. Installation was fast and efficient. Everything works fine.

They haven't actually replaced the furnace yet though I did sign the contract for them to do so. They arrived on time when they said they would and the saleman was professional enough though you could tell he only knew enough about HVAC to sell them and probably has never picked up a screwdriver. My only complaint is this. The initial estimate was $4500. That automatically dropped to 4000 after he found out I saw them on Money Mailer. Then it went down to $3500 if I signed a contract right then as some sort of 1st appointment bonus. I told him I wanted to get a few more estimates and it magically went down to 2900. We eventually settled on 2800 after a "call to the boss" though I'm sure I could have gotten it a little cheaper still had I pressed. I guess this method works for them, and admittedly I went for it, but really, if they would have just said, we'll do this job for $2800 or $2500 or whatever to begin with, it would have saved a lot of time and made me feel a lot better about the purchase because if they're doing it for "half off" it really makes you wonder how much they're taking you for to begin with, and how much they rip people off who just say yes at the first price.

This is the second time I have used RC Heating & Air Conditioning. When I purchased my furnace this winter, I knew I needed to replace my A/C as well to really see the efficiency of my new furnace, but financially it was easier to do one at a time. They were just as great the second time around for my A/C- friendly, knowledgeable, and fairly priced. When I asked a friend who recently replaced her A/C how much they had charged her, I was happy to hear mine was considerably less. Overall, I am happy with the purchase and would recommend them to anyone looking for an honest company.

The service from RC Heating & Air Conditioning went well. They called me the next day and I scheduled it within three weeks. They were on time and she was very professional and polite and it was fine. They did not try to up sell on anything which is nice, a lot of time they try to up sell you for something and she was like not up selling at all. I think it was reasonable, in terms of the price. They are just going to get 'A's straight down the board. I would use this provider again and that's why I have their little report thing on my refrigerator.

He was right on time and it didnt take long. He did a good job and cleaned up afterwards.

Everything about RC heating is wonderful. They were on time, very friendly and informative. I have had them do my yearly service in the past and I am never disappointed!

Had two meetings with their sales rep over the Memorial Day weekend. We were given a price and date certain. They came at 10 am on the morning of 6/13/13 and completed the entire job in 6 hours. They protected and cleaned up the inside & outside of the house. The Borough Inspector came on 7/8/13 and approved all the work. MGB

It went well. He was very nice and was on time. The cost was great. I was pleased with the service over all.

They were so quiet and cleaned up so thoroughly that I wouldn't have realized they were here without seeing the new air conditioning system and reaping the cool benefit. I would highly recommend R C Heating & Air Conditioning, especially the owner Rich Crivaro, who was on site to make sure the job went smoothly.

We had a new system installed in 2009. In 2010 they added refrigerant to it. In 2001 they added some again and they billed us for the service call. In August of 2012, the same thing happened. They found a leak and replaced a coil. They wanted to bill me again for the service call. The fan went in the blower in June 2013. We have yet to go through a full cooling system. They finally found it was the blowing system which I already knew. They finally came out on Friday to fix the air after having to pay $160 to have it freight delivered. The boss never calls back.

It did not go very well. They did not do what they said they would. They said they did affordable AC and when I called they said they no longer repaired my model even though they advertised that they did. You could tell they were trained on customer service, they were very professional.

Scheduling an appointment with this company was easy and convenient, and Chris, the technician, arrived right on time on the scheduled date. I had to be at work that morning, but my girlfriend was here and reported that Chris was friendly, helpful, and did a thorough job. The AC unit was in excellent working condition, and there were no additional charges. I would definitely use this company again and highly recommend them.

Everything was done efficiently. Chris arrived early, which was great. He checked out everything and informed us on the entire. condition of the unit . Since our unit is old, he told us to keep an eye out for any malfunction. We would definitely call you. back again.

Technician Chris arrived on scheduled date (5/8/13) on time and got right to work inspecting my a/c unit.He was professional and friendly and completed the service in about 30 minutes.He gave me the completed report and said the unit was working properly.I was completely satisfied with his work.I was also impressed with the quick response and friendly service from the office when they contacted me to make the appointment.I was reluctant to give an A rating because this was a routine service and I didn't feel I had enough info to give a complete review of the company. It had been a pretty chilly early May and I had no reason to use the a/c after Chris left.Then came the hot weather on May21 and the need to turn on the a/c.To my surprise the unit did not start up,so I called RC @6:30 pm and expected to leave a message.Instead,a real person answered the phone and said someone would be out the next day.The next day Chris arrived at my home with Rich,who told me he was the owner of the company.He understood that though this was an extremely busy day for a/c emergencies,how he treated a return customer was extremely important to him.Within 15 minutes they found the cause of the problem and replaced a bad capacitor.I only paid for the cost of the capacitor and was not charged for a service call.To me,this is above the norm in customer service and I have no problem with an A rating and will contact RC for all my a/c work. He was very nice, and I was very pleased. He was on time, he answered all of my questions about my AC. He offered alot of information. He also sent me a thank you card.

I would hire this company for a future job.

Everything about the service was fine. They came and did everything they were supposed to. I was not there during the time of the work. However, my wife was pleased and she has no complaints.

Chis was excellent, told me my unit was in good shape for summer and changed my filter for me. He made me feel quite at ease as this is a new home for me and I want to make sure I don't have any problems with the AC this summer. I felt better after his visit as friend and relatives told me the unit was too small for my home and should be replaced. Chris was very honest, punctual and efficient. Didn't take long at all.
