+ 1 moreI had called SSR Landscape LLC after receiving their flyer on my door back on 4/3/21. Bob contacted shortly after leaving them a message and we scheduled a visit for an estimate on 4/6/21. When Bob visited that day, he was very pleasant and friendly. He appeared to be very knowledgeable. We were going through everything I was seeking to do in my backyard and he even measured the distance for a walkway that I wanted between my deck and future kitchen area. After I let him know about my concerns about water drainage issues in the yard and that needed a concrete slab for a future shed, he proceeded to tell me that he was going to “get some paper and we can then figure it out.” Unbeknownst to me, I had no idea that he wasn’t returning. I waited about 10-minutes, walked out to the front of the house, and he was gone. He didn’t warn me; he didn’t tell me anything; he just left. It would have been considerate (and respectful) if he simply would have told me that he couldn’t do the job. To leave a potential client “hanging” like that is truly the epitome of being unprofessional. I’m glad they had exposed their true colors before I committed a substantial amount of money for expected work.

+ -1 moreThe owner of SSR Landscaping is Bob Smolder of 62 E Summit Avenue, Seawaren NJ 07077. After many attempts at trying to get this problem rectified with him, no resolution was to be made. My lawn was left without being cleaned up and sodded. I feel I was taken advantage of as a woman ,paying for these services.
Description of Work: On August 27th, 2012., I hired Bob Smolder the owner of SSR Landscaping to remove the old curb and install belgium block and to repair the lawn afterward by sodding the areas due to the construction. He completed the belgium block on August 30,2012 and was going to order the sod and the following Tuesday, September 4th, 2012 and would install it. I paid him in full with this understanding . I never heard from him since he was paid as to why he did not complete the sod placement. I have called him on three separate occasions since August 30, 2012 starting September 13, 2012, whereas Bob Smolder informed me that he will be at my residence on September 18,201.It rained that day so I understood it could not be completed but the following days were beautiful clear weather but again he was a no show. I called him again on September 20,2012 and again was told that he would definitely be here on Monday, September 24th,2012. He again did not show up to complete the sodding and never called again. I placed the third call to Bob Smolder on September 24, 2012 and left a message on his recording "to call me by the end of the day as to his plan to finish his work so I could know how to proceed with this situation." I never heard back from Bob Smolder since he was paid in full on August 30,2012. I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. He has left my lawn with bare spots and broken concrete from the curb which should have been part of the clean up.
