Description of Work: Jim was very helpful and explained us all the little details during the inspection as i have told him that i have little or no knowledge on house inspection. He also send us the detailed report on time as he promised and we were able to get couple of minor issues fixed through his report.

Description of Work: Jim was great. He walked us through the whole inspection. He explained things about the house and just general home owning. We are first time buyers so it was very helpful to understand things about the heating/cooling, the boiler etc. He turned around his report very quickly and provided us everything we needed. We really felt like he was looking out for our best interest when buying the house. Thanks so much!

+ -1 moreHe came in the winter for an inspection of my old home. He tested every outlet, looked carefully in every room. I feel that I had a complete evaluation of the electrical, plumbing, structural, and other problems. He then returned when I called him about water in the basement and explained the causes in general and how I should deal with this step by step. He gave me insights that were not provided by "waterproofing" people and why a french drain which the other people want to install is not necessarily the answer. It is great to have someone knowledgable who has no gain in recommending a certain solution to a problem.
Description of Work: He gave me a very thorough inspection report of my old house. He clearly was very competent, spent several hours, and provided a clear, complete report afterwards. I then had questions about water in my basement recently. He came back to evaluate this problem w/o charge, and gave me insights that I have not gotten from other basement waterproofing people. I cannot recommend him enough.

+ -1 moreJim was very easy to work with. We thought the date would have to be changed (on short notice), and he just rolled with it. He was on time and worked quickly. He sent his report the next day. He used a computer to generate the report as he did the inspection. I wanted to do some measuring and looking into things, but he called me to look at any areas that he wanted me to pay particular attention to as he found them. He made good recommendations. Unlike some inspectors that I have used in the past, I didn't feel like he was overly cautious, trying to make a statement about how wonderful he was, or improve his reputation by generating a ridiculous list. On the other hand, I thought he was thorough enough that I am confident that the house has had a good inspection. I thought he was very professional and that his recommendations were fair.
Description of Work: House inspection for two-bedroom condo, no basement. Inspection took about 2 1/2 hours. He is certified (I checked it out) I think part of the fee (maybe $125) was for the radon. I thought his fee was very reasonable.

+ -1 moreJim arrived early, before I did. He was extremely thorough. He explained what he was doing, what he was finding, and what it meant throughout the entire process. (He offered quite a bit of information over the telephone as well when we were initially interviewing home inspectors.) The organization of the report we were given is quite useful. It includes charts as well as anecdotals for each area/system of the home inspected. This style of documentation makes it easy to refer back to the report at a later time and find exactly what one is looking for.
