I have rarely left a negative review on this or any other site. However, our experience with Gregory's was so poor, I feel obligated to share with others. Gregory's was recommended to us by a neighbor, so we felt confident based on their positive experience. Upon first meeting (still in wintertime when the snow was melting), my wife showed the problem areas and was informed they were fixable by 2-stage process. They would dig along the outside of the house and also use a special sealant on the wall in 3 areas. We were quoted $750 for what would take 4-6 hours. They had to schedule and reschedule several times due to the weather/temperatures outside. They were poor about communicating with us, leaving us to initiate the phone calls most of the time. Finally, the temperatures improved and we scheduled a date of service. My mother-in-law was here the day of service, when the workers stayed for about 2 hours and seemed rushed. Several weeks later, we endured a heavy rain storm and found the same 3 spots were still damp with minor leaks (exactly the same as before). My wife called to inform the work did not hold up and we needed someone to come back. We were dismissed for several days until finally receiving a return call. At that time, we were told the problem was probably with the foundation or drainage outside the house. This was never discussed as a possibility when we received an estimate for the work. Rather, they said they could fix the problem and eagerly charged us for the job. Finally, they agreed to send someone to look at the problems and scheduled us for a Friday afternoon between 2 and 4 pm. My wife had to take time off work to be here waiting for them. They never showed. She called at 4:30 to find out if they were running late, but no one answered. We left two messages before they finally returned our call late Saturday evening. They agreed to send someone out on Sunday morning. Someone did come by on Sunday morning - the same guy who came on day 1. He came without a crew and had no intention of addressing the problem but said he would provide us an and quot;estimateand quot; (for work we already paid for). We showed him the problem areas (same as before). He insinuated my wife was lying about the problem areas identified (she had used a permanent marker way back in January to point out the problems, they were still visible this time). He said the areas we pointed out were and quot;bone dry.and quot; Had he showed up two days before as planned, he would have seen the true issues. Also, he now claimed the SAME problem was not with waterproofing but with the foundation and we should go through our home warranty. He said he couldn't fix it and we should go through the home builder or foundation company. He also vaguely mentioned the possibility of a pipe problem. Throughout the discussion, he was argumentative and extremely defensive. He did not listen to our concerns. We requested a solution or a refund. He said he and quot;made an attemptand quot; to fix the problem but would not guarantee his work. He was not willing to provide a refund (partial or whole) and never proposed a solution until we told him to leave our property when he became more argumentative and rude. For example, he was interrupting us, not willing to listen to our concerns. We will never do business with Gregory's again and urge others to seriously consider other options before giving these people your money for a job left undone. **The main problems we identified with Gregory's are as follows: 1. They seldom, if ever, answer the phone when you call. You have to leave a message and hope they call you back in a timely manner. Therefore, it is difficult to get in touch with them. 2. They did not show up during scheduled time and made no effort to alert us. Therefore, my wife wasted a day and missed work. 3. They are willing to take your money knowing the problem may be with some other issue (and not inform you of such until their work doesn't hold up). 4. There seems to be little oversight by management when they send workers to your home. 5. They are not willing to stand by their work. They will and quot;make an attemptand quot; to fix a problem (his words), but do not guarantee they will actually fix it despite payment. 6. Instead of coming back to fix the problem, he came here with no crew only to provide us an additional estimate. 7. They are not professional and are willing to insinuate their customers are lying when they know they are in the wrong. My wife was a paying customer who did not deserve such treatment. 8. Their work is sub-par and involves poor quality materials. We are also dissatisfied with the quality of workers he employs. We hope Gregory's will consider reevaluating their business practices based on our review and provide better service to those choosing to work with them in the future.
Description of Work: We had several small cracks and one area around a pipe in our basement which were damp with minor leaks during wintertime when the snow began melting. We asked for waterproofing of 3 small areas, which they agreed to do by patching the leaks inside and digging outside to seal something along the outer wall of the home.

Response from Gregory Waterproofing Co
We are very sorry you were unhappy with the service. Gregory's Waterproofing has been in business for many, many years servicing thousands of satisfied customers. What we did do at your home was not waterproofing. We tried to repair some issues you were having by resealing the joints to the pipe coming in. Waterproofing which consists of French drains around the perimeter of the basements, bleeder holes and pumps are guaranteed for a period of twenty-five years. However, we did not do any of that. We are very busy, so offered to come on a Sunday to evaluate the problem you were having, but our crew does not work on a Sunday. We did not see any water, but were willing to try to make repairs at a later date. We also gave you the advice that your foundation company gives you a lifetime warrantee, since it is a newer home. The phone number is on your wall and it would be in your favor to contact them, as they installed that foundation. I'm not sure if they guarantee the line coming in, but if not we are certainly willing to repair it. As for the phones, we are sorry we cannot answer all the calls that come in everyday as we are on the lines most of the day. However, we always go through voicemails at the end of the day. Again, we are sorry you were dissatisfied.

Gregory's Waterproofing was very responsive and easy to work with from beginning to end of this project. We were comparing prices and services from several different companies, and Gregory's communicated with us via email and phone until we decided to use them. They worked around our schedule as we had other work being done in the house and we did not live there yet. They were professional and courteous but most of all, patient with us as we had tons of questions about the work being done, the warranty, etc. We would use them again and highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: We had french drains put in our basement along with two new sump pumps and two water generated back-up pumps.

Work completed on time and very satified. Crawl space has stayed dry and peace of mind when it rains is priceless.
Description of Work: work completed on time and French drain with sump pump and water pressure back up installed as promised. Mud room was left a bit messy with dirt/dust but overall experience was very positive in all respects. Jeff was a pleasure to deal with.

The owner of the company was extremely professional and courteous. They arrived to do the work on time and his workers went out of their way to keep the home clean and free from any dust coming upstairs into the home, while they dug up the perimeter of the basement and installed the french drains iand sump pump n the basement. They did an excellent job and I would highly recommend this company. I also had the drainage pipe buried undergound to the street. I was totally taken back on how they saved the lawn with their expert precision in digging up the dirt. When they were finished, you couldn't even tell they dug there. That was totally impressive to me. After the job was completed, the next day it poured rain. I went downstairs to look at the basement and saw water. I was so upset. The owner came out immediately and investigated where the water was coming from. It turned out, a pipe was leaking and had nothing to do with the work he did. Was I ever embarassed! So far, I have a dry basement and I am delighted.

I was very pleased at the speed of work. The guys showed up on time, and worked the day as expected. They cleaned up the basement, to the best of their ability after digging up so much dirt and rock. The three workers were very pleasant, and worked very hard through the two day job. They completed the work in the time expected. The new cement was poured and smoothed beautifully. The basement has been dry, and we'll see how time goes on.
Description of Work: We had gregory waterproofing dig french drains along the perimeter of our basement, install corrugated pipe and rock. They also installed a sump pump in an existing well. They also tied the sump pump drain pipe into an existing gutter drain.

Two workmen arrived at the specified time and completed the work that day. The company charged us for replacing 12 feet of drain, but they replaced 15 feet for no additional cost. The drain worked right away. There is no more water standing in it. The concrete was applied smoothly. The workmen were efficient and polite.
Description of Work: The company installed a French drain in my parents' basement about 35 years ago. After about 20 years, the drain became clogged. Gregory Waterproofing unclogged it for no charge. This August, my mother and I noticed water coming into the basement under the stairs and along part of the uphill wall (the basement is on a slight slope) and standing water in the gravel in the visible part of the drain at the edge of the floor. I called Gregory Waterproofing, and they sent an estimator. He determined that some of the drainage pipe needed to be replaced. Also, plastic drainage tubes needed to be installed near the wall under the stairs to allow water to drain down through the concrete slab rather than out onto the floor. We were told how much the work would cost and were given a choice of 2 dates for having the work done. We agreed on the date. They broke out a 15-foot section of concrete and replaced crushed rock in the drain, then covered that with new concrete. They also installed drainage tubes under the stairs.

I called the week after the floods in NJ because the company had installed french drains for the former owner in the house. Gary Greorgi was not accepting new customers so I left a message that I had purchased a home that he had previously done the work. I received a call back from him within 10 minutes telling me that he considered me to be a customer and that he stood by his work even though the guarantee period had expired. He arranged a time to scope out the job. He showed up exactly when he said and provided an estimate on the new work within a few days. He was concerned about the original work and came out on a week night to repair it. For the larger job, we arranged for the work to be done on a Sunday, at no extra cost to me. His workers showed up on time, were professional, did an excellent job and cleaned up afterwards. Gary called after they left to make sure that everything was okay and to see if I had any questions.
Description of Work: Installed French Drain in area of basement that did not have the drain. Repair drain that was installed 10 years earlier.
