Franks Painting

We called Frank with the intention of freshing-up the outside of the house after having shingles removed for blown-in insulation as well as updated electric resulting in a different color wire tube. After discussion, we initially agreed to paint the front of the house at a very reasonable price. While the work was in process, it made such a difference that we asked Frank about painting the whole house and trim. Again, the price was reasonable, and the attention to detail - especially removal of the old hardware and wires as well as window details - has transformed the houses appearance. The men who painted were professional, asked repeatedly if we saw anything they missed or felt needed attention. The worksite was very clean, and they worked efficiently and promptly.

Frank met with us and went through our needs, presented his conservative solutions, and promptly provided us with a proposal. We were happy with the price and his plan but were not in a position at that time to employ his services. We told Frank that we would get back to him when we were ready, a few months later we reached out to Frank and scheduled the job. The reason I mention this detail is because Frank, unlike other contractors I have dealt with, did not pester us in any way during the time from proposal to scheduling. I think this is very respectful and professional. Prior to the start of the job Frank and his foreman Wilson walked through the work with us. They had four colors to paint plus ceilings. Since the work was done a few weeks ago, we are pleased with the quality of the materials used. Frank had a team of two guys perform the work. They arrived promptly at 8:30 and the work took approximately four and a half days. My wife worked from home that week and found both guys to be professional and good to be around. They produced quality work. On a daily basis we went around and showed them any areas we noticed needed touch ups. Frank stopped in a couple times that week to ensure everything was going according to plan and he checked in daily to ensure that we were pleased with the results. Overall we are very pleased with our painting and the services provided by Frank's Painting. I highly recommend them.

Frank was great. Rapidly responded. Provided a thorough estimate and once the walk through was completed he lowered the price. Workers were clean and careful. Completed the job (which consisted of entryway, living room, 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, 3 story staircase and hallways), in 5 days and on budget. Would highly recommend and will definitely use again.

I couldn't be there for the actual scrapping and painting. I had to trust Frank with the keys to the building which he returned after the job was completed .

This is the second time I have used Frank. They are always very professional and do a great job, I will definitely use him again. I was out of town when the work was done, it was nice to come home to have everything fixed and painted.

I called Frank's painting for an estimate to paint the exterior of our house and repair of the porch and he called me back within a few hours. We scheduled a time for an estimate. Frank arrived right on time and gave us a very reasonable estimate, nearly 1/2 that of another painting company. The job started very quickly and the crew was at our house every day until the job was completed. The quality of the work done was exceptional. His crew was very professional and personable. They were also very thorough (for example - they painted the interior of our windows. Upon replacing the storm windows after the painting was done, each window was shut tightly and locked. ) There was not a spot on the house that was missed. Frank was in regular contact with me to discuss timing of the job and stopped in regularly to update me on the progress. His carpenter did a beautiful job repairing our porch and the areas where there was rotted wood. Frank ensured us that if we saw something after the crew was done, he would come back and fix whatever was not done. There was no need for that, as everything was done perfectly. We were very happy with his services and would highly recommend this company to anyone.

The process was very odd in that we had to comment on the paint job in order to avoid paint overs, smudges, bubble, ...Part of the ceiling in a bathroom was not done.Back of some doors were not done.Outside trim was very poor.4 follow-up phone calls and messages to remedy have not resulted in a call back.

Overall, we were very happy witht he work. There are a few minor things that came up, but nothing important enough to stop me from recommending them friends & family.

My experience with Frank was great from start to finish. Not only was he very responsive to my questions, concerns and many calls and emails, but he was also reliable, trustworthy and honest. Of all the contractors that I've encountered to date, he has been the one that I consider most to be an "ally". I believe his price was more than fair, and he consistently did extra work for me at no extra cost. For instance, he fixed wall and trim damage caused by my floor refinishers, and he painted some new trim that I'd installed at the last minute (way after the job was done). He was fair and upfront with me at all times. He and his crew finished the job in a timely manner and were willing to work with me as I juggled other contractors whose work effected the painting. All in all, I am very pleased with Frank's work and professionalism, and I will use him again in the future without a doubt.

Frank provides incredible value. He's incredibly responsive. Gets back to you via email and phone faster than anyone I know in business! (My clients should be this responsive!) He and his associate painted our den beautifully and left it clean. I will definitely use him again and recommend him whole heartedly!

I contacted Frank after checking out reviews on Angie's List and he responded within the same day, requesting some basic information about what we needed, and scheduling a time to stop by to check out the rooms. He was flexible about the visit and was able to come by the house after 6 pm. After taking a look, we talked about the estimated time to complete the job (2 days), the color (white) and paints to be used (2 coats of low voc for the primer and 2 coats of zero voc paint), and the cost for labor and paint (labor $1,000, materials $200-300 (depending on eggshell or flat - at that point I was undecided), $350 for mudroom = $1,550-1,650). We agreed that caulking in between all of the wood planks would take at least another day and cost more (we received another quote from a painting company that was about $1,000 more which included sanding, caulking and wood filler). My husband and I thought we would actually like a more "rustic" look without the caulking, which turned out to be the case! I told Frank that we would contact him over the next week or so and he was very good about advising what his availability was over the next few weeks. I contacted him about a week later to schedule the job a few weeks later (at my request) and Frank contacted me before the job to confirm the details over the phone. Once he arrived for the job, I confirmed the final cost ($1,600). Frank's terms were 1/3 deposit at the start of the job, with the balance due at the end of the job. I paid half on the first day and the rest on the second day because it was easier for me. Frank and his crew (2 guys who were very pleasant and efficient) set up very quickly - they moved all of the furniture and stuff they could out of the way into the entry, covered the rest of the remaining furniture in plastic drop cloths, covered the floors in canvas drop cloths, and unscrewed all of the lighting fixture plates from the ceiling. After getting a LOT of work done the first day, his crew called me to ask me about the primer. It turns out the wood stain was still coming through the primer after several coats so they recommended using a stronger primer, which ended up doing the trick (although we had to air out the house for several days due to the odor). The super primer ended up costing a bit more but Frank waived the extra cost, which was great and very appreciated. His crew did a great clean up job, sweeping the floors and moving all of the furniture back, and restored the house to its pre-painting condition. We are very pleased with the look of the new paint job (it makes our house considerably brighter) and will absolutely use Frank for other painting jobs we may have in the future. I am all for DIY and hate paying for anything I can do myself but in this case, it was TOTALLY 100% WORTH IT and I'm happy I paid Frank to do the work for me!!

We had two other proposals and chose Frank because of price and and the thorough review of the job during our initial visit. Frank and his assistant were prompt, worked quickly and cleaned up well. They were both pleasant to work with and were considerate of our schedules. Any difficult spots that needed extra care and attention were attended to before completing the job. It was also easy to contact Frank and he responds quickly to any concerns. The job was well done.

Everything went very smoothly. Frank was able to accommodate my timeframe, was very professional and friendly and was flexible to add/subtract things that came up during the three days of painting. His team was very friendly, professional and the work was very well done. We already have Frank giving us another quote for more rooms to paint.

Frank was not very friendly, told us our job was too small, and got off the phone pretty quickly, seemingly annoyed we'd called. I can respect that the job might not have been worth it for him, but nobody likes being treated almost rudely when asking a question of a service proffessional.

Frank's painting did a very good job, adapting his schedule to perform the job in our home while the furniture was moved out. He showed up on time or call in advance if not. He stayed very late one day to finish the last layer of painting. We are very happy and would like to recommend this company.

We thought his prices were outrageously high. He came up good on Angie's List. People gave him good marks, and that is how we ended up calling him. But as far as I was concerned, his prices were outrageous. I wouldn't tell anybody about him.

+We were very happy with this company. Frank always returned my phone calls and was very professional. Frank and his workers did a great job repairing a ceiling, and painting a bedroom. They were extremely neat, too. I would definitely call Frank again in the future to paint other rooms for me. I did get other estimates for this job, and found Frank's price to be very fair.

Walls spackled, sanded, primed, and painted. Four rooms, plus a stairway in four days.

My husband and I are big DIY-ers, but after purchasing a 4600+ Sq Ft home and spending 5 back breaking days stripping wallpaper from just two rooms, we knew that we would need professionals to quickly take care of painting over the horrendous rainbow of colors, dirt and grime left behind by the previous owners, and we needed it done before the moving truck arrived with our belongings. After doing some research on Angie's List, I reached out to Frank's Painting. We were looking to get the painting completed prior to the arrival of our furniture and needed someone to start ASAP. I called Frank on a Friday morning and heard back from him within minutes. By luck, Frank and his team were available and able to start the job the following Monday. Frank stopped by that weekend so we could walk him through the house and get an estimate of the work to be completed. He provided separate estimates for labor and materials, and the numbers seemed fair so we gave him the go ahead. Over the next 10 days Frank and his team proceeded to sand, scrape, spackle, prime and paint nearly every wall and ceiling of our neglected 12 year old home. They took care of bumps and cracks that we probably would have simply painted over and later regretted had we done the job ourselves. They showed up on time and stayed as late as needed each day to get the job done. The entire team was very professional and extremely friendly. I could not fault them at all. Along the way, we asked them to take care of a few additional areas for us (an additional ceiling and risers and trim of a previously carpeted staircase), so they did start to get a little rushed as the deadline approached. The job was completed on the day the movers arrived, so it got a little hairy in the end and a few areas of touch-ups were needed. One call to Frank and they were back out to take care of all of the remaining issues after the chaos of the movers had passed. They did a fantastic job and stayed true to the agreed upon labor estimate. The price of materials did go up a bit, but Frank provided receipts for everything and all was justified. I highly recommend Frank's Painting and will definitely use them again for any of my future painting needs.

We called 4 Contractors to give Quotes on the job. 1 Contractor said they'd call but never did. The other three all provided quotes, either verbal or on paper. We choose Frank's Painting. Frank came in at the highest price(for the most part they were all within 10%), but after meeting with Frank and his team, we felt confident that we were hiring a professional team. Frank himself is very casual, but always got back to us promptly and was very flexible with meeting times. When meeting to discuss the job, Frank was detailed and efficient, providing the necessary information to allow us to make an educated choice, including what he thought the best choice was for Paint Brand and the types of paint for the walls, ceilings and trim and felt using a higher quality paint was in our best interest. After informing Frank that we wanted him to do the job, I asked that he start relatively soon, the following Wednesday(Short Time Frame) and Frank was able to accomodate us. Frank did inform me that he was going to be away on vacation while the job was going on, but he assured me his assistant Wilson would be able to perform the job to Frank's standard. Additionally, Frank communicated with me on a daily basis throughout the entire job while he was away, I didnt expect this at all, but was appreciative that he cared enough to check on the job. Frank said the job would run for 4 days - Wednesday thru Saturday and his team would work from 8:30 to 4pm. On the Wednesday the job started, Wilson arrived with a 2nd assistant at 8:30 and brought up all the eqpt and supplies and began painting. After the first day they completed the Master Bedroom and began the prep work on the 2nd bedroom. The 2nd day, the completed the 2nd bedroom and completed the prep work for the Living Room. The 3rd day, they painted the living room walls and ceiling excluding an Accent Wall. They had also mistakenly painted a wall in the dining area that we wanted painted the color for the kitchen. I made Frank aware and Wilson made the change on the 4th day. The 4th day, Wilson and his assistant completed, the Kitchen, Accent wall and all Trim work by 2pm. The quality of the work, especially the trim and doors looked excellent. The walls were smooth and the colors solid and the lines were straight. I am very satisfied with the work they did and with the professional manner in which they worked. I would hire Frank's team again.

My home was damaged severely by the hurricane of 8/2011. The house was gutted and sheetrocked and was in need of a complete paint job. I interviewed several painters (4 in total) and most of them game me the usual song and dance. I heard and read about Frank via Angie's list. I called and an appointment was scheduled promptly. The quote was very competitive but most important of all I appreciated his professionalism. I went ahead and had my home painted by him and was quite pleased by the results. They arrived on time and completed the job ahead of schedule working on weekends. One item I would like to point out is this. Frank and his team could not complete the job initially because my GC did not lay all of the necessary molding. I did something you should never do and that was pay a contractor in full for his services prior to all of the work being completed. Normally, when this occurs you never hear from them again but not Frank. As soon as the molding was put down I contacted him and Wilson was at the house completing the job. Very impressive!! I continue to receive compliments on the work which was performed and will not hesitate to use him again in the future.

I was moving, and needed to shape up my old place to put it on the market. I needed extensive work done, including repair of drywall, and almost complete interior repainting of my townhouse condominium. I already had another estimate from a different painter (who is not listed on Angie's list, and therefore not rated), and was kind of reeling from sticker shock. After recovering a little bit, I found Frank, based on ratings on Angie's List. He returned my call right away, and then sent me an itemized estimate after seeing my place and figuring out what needed to be done. In fact, he was quite persistent in pursuing the job, which I generally take as a good sign that he's out to please the customer. Work began and ended in a timely manner. I briefly met one of his painters, who was extremely polite and respectful, and accomodating when I pointed out that one area would need a second coat. The whole process went very smoothly, and I was pleased with the outcome. Maybe my one complaint would be that they didn't tape over a few of the electrical outlets, and so those got painted over in the chosen color of the room (this ended up clashing with the new white outlet covers), and in some cases, got a little clogged with paint. Overall, I would recommend Frank's Painting to anyone who needs a timely and professional painting job done. ***Update: Frank contacted me to let me know that the outlets were painted to match the wall color because they were already painted the old wall color, which really would have clashed with the new color. I didn't realize this at the time, but now I understand why they were painted. My bad.

Frank met me at the apartment and we discussed price and color selection. He then met me again days before the actual job to confirm color selection and review the actual work to be done. On the first day of the project, his workers arrived super early and had to wait for clearance to enter the building. This is a rarity for contractors. They worked for eight hours, non-stop for four full days, and maintained a calm, professional demeanor, even as I popped in every once in a while to watch them. On the last day of the job, Frank called me to make sure I approved of the work. I let him know that I was extremely pleased with the results, and that I would recommend him to others.

From the beginning Frank, and his painters were very professional. They replaced and repaired sheet rock in our first floor apt, that had been removed after the flooding from Hurricane Irene. They also very carefully replaced the moulding that my husband had removed from the walls, and had to fit the pieces together (a lot like a puzzle at that point) and cover the areas where the moulding was broken, etc. It was a tedious, time consuming job. The did excellent work. I can't see any areas of the moulding that were broken and then filled to look like a continuous piece. Frank also noticed that the bathroom (which wasn't included in the original price) needed painting as well, and he added it on for a very reasonable amount. The painting looks great! The apartment is ready to be rented again. We are delighted with the work that Frank and his painters did. Besides the actual work, they were very polite, punctual, and cleaned up the apt after working, leaving us some paint for "touch-ups". I would absolutely use them again, and will be referring them to my neighbors and friends.
