We specialize in: stock, semi-custom & custom cabinets, countertops in granite, quartz, solid surface and laminate, tile installation for both kitchen and bathroom, sinks, faucets and hoods, bathroom vanities, tubs, shower doors, flooring from tile to hardwood to laminate and luxury vinyl tile, lighting, electric, plumbing and carpentry, sheetrock, trim, windows and doors.
They were excellent. I went in there and there were so many choices to select. I pointed to one and asked if he could do that in my bathroom and he said yes. I told him that was what I was picking right there and not to give me any other choices because I would be there for 10 years. It is beautiful. I don’t know what the price was. My husband does the bills and I don’t even see them. The quality was excellent and we have had no problems with it at all. Everything worked and nothing was retouched or redone and called back or anything. It was totally excellent. They were right on top for me. Every time I called with a question or if the guy had a question for us, like on dimensions or whatever they were working on, they didn’t even have to leave the facility. They could get anything because they had everything with them. The guy was great. He was funny and energetic. He explained things to me when I asked questions. They were all excellent, from the time I walked in their door until the time I left. It was just top notch all the way around and we had no problems with them at all. They were always on time, and in fact, they were 10-15 minutes early. We wrote a really nice letter afterwards and sent it to the company. They asked me if they could give out my phone number, and I said no but thanked them for asking.
Description of Work: We had Economy Kitchens & Baths strip down a little bathroom completely.

This is the second time we used Economy, and I couldn't be more delighted! The entire process from initial contact, design, selecting materials, scheduling, demolition, rough-in, construction and finish went smoothly. Our contact and designer Sue Moura was a pleasure to work with and provided all contact from beginning to finish -- no multiple departments or subcontrators to coordinate or chase down. She obviously knows her business and enjoys her work, and gave many useful insights and suggestions. Each stage of work was carefully done to the point of meticulous, and was completed exactly per schedule -- no wondering if workers were showing up that morning. No mess was left on any day. No wondering if any corners were being cut. All charges were detailed at the onset, and the job stayed precisely on budget -- no surprises anywhere. What minor problems that came up during construction which are expected in a 55 yr old house were immediately solved. The finished result looks like something out of a magazine. Highly recommended!
We were very?pleased with the job that Economy Kitchen and Bath did with our bathroom remodeling.? Economy had remodeled our kitchen in 2012 and because they had done such a great job with the kitchen, we wanted them to also remodel the first floor bathroom.?? Our 1950's bathroom had never been updated.? Frank of Economy was? very helpful in our choices? of fixtures, doors for the shower, and cabinets.??Because space was limited we wanted as much storage space as possible..???Frank did lots of research trying to find for us matching vanity and tank topper in the right size and right color and he certainly succeeded.? The workers from Economy was very punctual and professional.??They showed up at 9 AM each morning? and at the end of the work day, they cleaned up the areas of the house leading to the bathroom.???We were very lucky to have one of the workers ("Z")? working on our bathroom from day one (demolition) all the way to the last day (installing the shower grab bar).?? All in all, we love our new bathroom and are very happy with the work done by Economy Kitchen and Bath.
Description of Work: Our 1950's era bathroom was completed remodeled. The tub was replaced by a walk in shower, marble shower seat and sliding glass doors. The tile on the floor and walls was replaced. We originally had gray tile with a black border on the walls and chose a larger more neutral tile for the walls and floor. We also chose a dark wood vanity with a matching tank topper for additional storage space in this small bathroom.

Everything was excellent and they did a nice job. The young man that they sent was so neat, efficient and got here on time. He was so quiet while he was here and I was comfortable having him in my home. They also took care of getting all the inspections scheduled and completed and that was great.

Economy were extremely professional and helpful every step of the way. The project required tearing the bathroom down to the wall, ceiling and floor studs and rebuilding everything. I appreciated the fact that Economy has their own showroom which allowed me to see many different samples before deciding on what fixture styles to use. Once the start date was agreed to, they maintained the 4 week construction schedule without deviation. Workers were punctual, polite and knowledgeable. If there was a question on if something could be installed in two different places, they always checked with me before installing to ensure it was where I wanted it. All work except the electrical (which they subcontracted) was self performed. Were there some minor items that needed corrected? Certainly. There is on any project of this size and complexity. But any item that I did bring to their attention, was promptly corrected to my satisfaction. Tom Bak was the manager I dealt with from inception to completion and he ensured I was satisfied. I highly recommend Tom and his company.

We met with the Economy sales rep at their showroom and arranged to have measurements taken and an estimate provided. The rep took the measurements and produced a design on graph paper, basically reproducing the old cabinet lineup. Another employee produced a CAD drawing of the design with generic representations of the appliances. We accepted the estimate and signed a contract on 4-13-13. Installation was to begin in 6-8 weeks and be completed in approximately 6 weeks, putting the estimated completion date around 7-21-13 We obtained the necessary permit, ordered appliances and provided the rep with the model numbers as requested. Economy's electrician came out, surveyed the job and determined that no additional work was needed (the service was sufficient). Removal and installation of the cabinets started on schedule. A subcontractor came out to make a template for the countertop. When it was due to be delivered Economy was told that our original choice of stone was not available. A similar pattern by a different manufacturer was ordered. This countertop was installed by the sub after Economy's installer added some bracing that wasn't in place. The countertop sub took measurements rather than a template for the full backsplash. When it was delivered and installed it was off by enough that the electrical outlet boxes didn't line up, the corner detail was slightly off and the stove opening didn't match the installation specs (I printed these out online and gave copies to the sub and Economy's installers). The countertop sub came back and with some grinding and rearranging the outlets made them fit. Next came the appliance installation. Economy's installer couldn't get the stove in place and left, saying the countertop subs would have to come back. I later discovered that the problem was the bracing that was installed for the countertop was too large. I corrected that and put the stove in place. Next the refrigerator was put in its opening which turned out to be too narrow and too shallow. The depth of the refrigerator wasn't considered when the design was done, only the width and that was made too small by the installer. I requested that the refrigerator opening be changed with deeper panels. These were ordered. In the meantime the dishwasher walked off its mounting the first time it was used and Economy sent another installer back to reinstall it. The new panels came in, were installed and the installation completed . I went to the showroom to discuss the problems and make the final payment for the first phase on 8-8-13. The rep took $366. off the bill for my trouble. Economy's rep came out to measure for the second phase and we signed a contract 9-19-13 with installation to start in 4-6 weeks and be completed in 1 and 1/2 weeks, around 11-15-13. Their electrician was to be involved but he was on vacation so I was asked to contract that work myself. By 11-12-13 I hadn't heard from Economy. I called them and was told that the cabinets are in and that another employee will schedule the installation and call me. 11-21-13 I call and ask for the scheduler. He doesn't know anything about my job but will have the rep call me when he comes back. I call again and rep schedules installation for 11-26-13. Cabinets and installers arrive. Out of three cabinets one is the wrong cabinet (2 drawers instead of 1). Hardware can't be installed because the installer didn't bring long screws and one drawer can't be fully opened because it doesn't clear a piece of trim. I decided to accept the cabinets as is rather than wait for a replacement. The installer made a template for the countertop and the stone was ordered. 12-12-13 I called to check on the stone. It was in and installation was then scheduled for 12-16-13. The rep said he would come with the installer. 12-16-13 the installer arrived with a helper but without the rep. The counter top didn't fit so the sheetrock had to be cut out and patched as well as the holes created trying to get it to fit. I provided a piece of sheetrock and Economy's installer patched the hole and gave it the first coat of spackle. The installer asked for and received the final payment before leaving. It is now 1-3-13 and I have had no further communication from Economy. No "How did the job go?" No "Thank you for your $28,500. worth of business". Given all the problems, I wouldn't use Economy again and can't recommend them, but if you are going to use Economy, first of all, do your homework. Don't expect much in the way of design services so know what you want in detail. Also be prepared to supervise the installation. Again, do your homework, get the installation guides and read them because chances are the installer hasn't and may be surprised by what is called for (i.e. cabinets on a floating floor). Finally, don't expect much in the way of communication, be prepared to call them.
Description of Work: Remove and dispose existing countertops, cabinets and appliances. Relocate HVAC vent and ceiling fixture. Retrofit recessed lighting fixtures to LED and run dedicated electric for dual-fuel range. Replace cabinets with thermo-foil, countertops with Silestone, including full height backsplash. Install new appliances (not included in price). In addition a 103" built in run of 16" deep cabinets, countertop with standard backsplash and 2'X3' Silestone tabletop (base not included in price) was installed in a second phase to match the kitchen.

We are still dealing with them. They have been very pleasant thus far. We have not gotten into the nitty gritty or the details yet. It has been fine. We met with him and talked about the alternatives. We priced out some of the cabinets, it was overwhelming at the time, so we are still deciding. We have not received a final estimate yet because we have not decided. They have been friendly and helpful. My mother did use them about 20 years ago. They have been around a long time. We are considering new cabinets, instead of refacing, it is kind of the same price as new cabinets, except with new cabinets there is installation. They are on Angie's List, they have been in business for a long time and so we decided to give them a try. The price is going to be dependent on what we want. They will do a 3D virtual design of what it will look like. I would say at this point they are doing good.

As we embark upon our 20th year of ownership since the original owner retired in 1994, it gives us time to reflect. As I approach my senior years I take the same liberties as they do in speaking my mind more freely. I would like to thank [Member names removed] for giving us our very first “F” especially because their job was completed three years ago. I would also like to thank Angie Hicks for selecting our company for the SUPER SERVICE AWARD three years running. It seems strange that three years ago everything was fine. I don’t even want to begin to mention the damage the kitchen has received from its owners. We won’t even get into the repair list we have completed for them since the jobs completion. Perhaps the demeanor of the customers should be rated as an “F” rather than the quality of the contractor. With this comment I now pose a question to Angie Hicks. We appreciate the referrals we receive from Angie’s List and look forward to receiving our SUPER SERVICE AWARD for the 4th year in a row in the coming months. Perhaps Angie could create a website to protect the contractors from certain homeowners. Is it not fair that contractors be scrutinized and homeowners not. Educated perspective customers will see our multitude of high rated reviews. We look forward to future work to carry us into our 3rd decade of ownership.

We had Economy remodel two bathrooms in our house three years ago and were very happy with the results. When we decided to remodel our kitchen, Economy was one of our first calls. Our favorite rep came out to take measurements and prepare the estimate. We waited awhile for their proposal, which was not quite what we had in mind. We discussed it with Economy, and they agreed to make an adjustment and resubmit. That's the last we heard from them. After we called and emailed them several times over a month with no response, we gave up and went to another contractor. In our last project we paid promptly and fully accommodated their work schedule, so I don't understand why Economy would not want to work with us again. Because of their past success, I can't bring myself to flunk Economy for this poor response. But we were really disappointed.

All the workers were on time , answered my questions, always took my phone calls and also returned them. All the services I needed to complete the kitchen were provided. They worked very neatly and ?provided solutions to small problems as they came up . I met with Jay, one of the owners of the company, on July 9th at my home., He showed up on time, had some excellent ideas, seemed very knowledgable and professional. Said he'd come back with estimates shortly. On July 17th I called and he said he'd been very busy, did some rough calculations on the phone and said the job would cost "about $23,000.00" but that he was really busy but could do the work around Labor Day. It was obvious Jay simply had too much work and wasn't interested in the business. It was a shame as I was very interested in working with his company. I can certainly understand how a good contractor might be too busy to take on additional work, but after taking the time to drive 1 hour to meet me, he should have properly followed up with me, instead of disappearing, then making an obviously rushed and inaccurate estimate on the phone and offering to do work he clearly didn't have time for.

I want to preface my review by noting I love Angie's List, and have written a *number* of reviews (4 or 5, I'd say, maybe 6?) overt the past 6 months -- all uniformly positive. Not sure if readers can look up other reviews, but I do think it establishes a certain level of credibility. Now on to the review, entitled "Good help is hard to find!" It certainly won't be found from Economy Kitchen & Bath (EKB), based on my experience. After taking the time to come to our house and take a look at a bathroom that we needed fully remodeled (gut job), Tom Bak/EKB went fully AWOL. More than a week after the meeting for the estimate assessment, we still hadn't heard from him, so I emailed him: his response was "I told your wife I was booked in July and couldn't do it" (or words to that effect). First off, that is bull----t. Tom did say he was booked in July, but he certain never said he had no interest in the job. More importantly, I then responded immediately, telling him "well, we're flexible on the timing, as you get good reviews, so we'd really like to work with you." Then I got radio silence (that is, I have been IGNORED, which I find terribly obnoxious) thereafter. I did one more email, trying to give Tom another chance, and then i actually called EKB, got a receptionist, who put me into Tom's voicemail. That was 2 days ago. NOTE TO TOM: return your calls and emails. In the future, you can cut and paste this line: "Hi customer, I'm very sorry, but we're now really booked all summer, and just don't have time right now to spend providing you with an estimate. We truly appreciate you considering EKB for this project." I see they have received many good reviews, and thus am baffled by the unprofessionalism and poor communication skills exhibited. The only thing I can think of is that EKB is *very* busy in the summer (good for them) -- but that is NO excuse for the poor customer service we have received. I also located Integrity Kitchen & Bath on Angie's List, and suggest anyone looking for comparable services use them instead: they performed the exact same scope of services as, but unlike EKB, they followed through, provided an estimate, and actually returned phone calls and/or e-mail. My only confusion is: if EKB was so busy, and now doesn't have enough time to do our project, why did you waste your time (and ours!) by coming to the estimate in the first place. EKB, I hope we'll get an apology from you, and I hope you learn a lesson about how easy good customer service can be, even when you can't help. I urge Angie's List members to consider whether they want to work with a Company that only gets back to you if they're *not* busy.

In response to [member name removed] review it appear's there were several miscommunication's.First off Economy Kitchen's estimated a kitchen countertop project for [member name removed] a couple of month's back in which he stated that that we were very professional but he was going to go with another contractor. He than asked for an estimate to remodel a kitchen in a home he was purchasing and we informed him that we were booked for july and could not accomodate this project,When the initial estimate was asked for a bath remodel it was not stated that the project had to be done in july and that is the reason the estimate was taken.but [member name removed] was already aware that july was booked solid for us and could have let us know that he was looking for a July installation.Upon the initial estimate [member name removed] was not able to go through the estimate with me as he had a host of other conrtractor's at his home and that is the reason his wife was told about our timing issue.as far as email's go this is not something I will justify.we keep a very buisy schedule and our review's speak for themselve's and in closing I would like to state there are two side's to every story [member name removed].

On the whole it was fine. There were a few little ups and downs. I would recommend them. They were fine in everything. There was a defect in one of the tiles but they tried to fix it. I did recommend them to a couple of people. I wasn't crazy about the kitchen cabinets they gave me. I didn't think they were very good quality.
Description of Work: I used Economy Kitchens & Baths to remodel my kitchen.
I dealt with Sales Manager Frank Tallerico. He took pains to come up with a plan that I was happy with rather than try to convince me what he thought should be done. Once things got started they moved along at a reasonable pace. The men who did the hands-on work showed up on time and were pleasant and professional. I am pleased with the way everything turned out.
Description of Work: Remodeled kitchen, including (1) remove old cabinets and install new ones with under cabinet fluorescent lights, (2) Corian countertops, (3) stainless steel under-mounted sink and faucet, (4) "quick step" laminate flooring, (5) tile backsplash on sink side and between top and bottom cabinets on opposite side, (6) storage cabinet in garage, and (7) shelves along steps to basement. Relocate electrical outlet. Fresh coat of paint to finish the job ($630 - not included in original quotation). Existing appliances (refrigerator, dishwasher, stove and microwave oven) were new and were not replaced.

They were very good. They were with us from beginning to the end, their work is beautiful, it’s been almost a year since we started and we still love the kitchen and their prices were good. They did a wonderful job from beginning to the end. They started the job in June2012 and finished in August 2012. We had some problems with inspections and that was our own problem. Our house is a 60 year old house so when they go down to the beams they found some things that were fine in 1952 but according to 2012 code they did not measure up. So that was nothing to do with this company. They were very responsive. When we failed the first inspection they responded immediately like within hours to get this work done. They stuck with the price that they originally quoted.
