There were no additional charges beyond the big deal amount. Two guys came out to do the job. They did two coats;they did prep work and then they painted two coats. They were there for 4 or 5 hours.

 + -1 moreFranco responded to my inquiry quickly when I initially called him, and came over to give us a quote the next night. He was realistic about the expectations and had a special light which showed all the holes / crevices on the ceiling in a few of the rooms and what it would take for him to fix them. We agreed on a price and Franco and his crew came over at the time we had agreed upon. They worked well and cleaned up after themselves. The paint job in all the rooms really looked beautiful and Franco called to make sure we were happy with it and if we might have wanted any touch ups. Franco is very knowledgeable about houses in general and he gave us great advice for the future. He was also quite helpful by showing my husband how to wire tamper free outlets into the walls. We would definitely use him and his crew again! PS At the end I asked him to use the special light to see the ceilings again. The holes / crevices were all gone!
Description of Work: Franco and his crew painted 5 rooms in my house, and took down wallpaper in one room. They also installed a ceiling fan / light fixture.

It was not a problem. It was an extra $100 for the ceiling plus I paid for the paint. They were on time. They were extremely efficient and neat. They were very professional. I would hire them again in a second.

 + -1 moreFranco the owner showed up 10 minutes late, which was not a big deal. He looked at my utility closet and determined that the drywall tape needed to be spackled, repaired and painted. He estimated that the final cost would be about $150 dollars which seemed reasonable to me. He knew what needed to be repaired and did not try and up-sell me on other things that might need repairing. I appreciated his honesty while accessing the situation.
Description of Work: Provider gave me an estimate how much it would cost to have my utility closet painted.

Description of Work: He came to look at my room and saw that the ceiling needed some plastering of cracks. I paid him extra for the plastering job and I was very pleased with the result. He came back the next day to paint . First he covered my furniture and the floor. Then he and his helper painted one coat first. He Waited for that coat to dry and then painted the second coat. The ceiling looks great. The cracks were covered beautifully. The ceiling looks perfect. They cleaned up very well. I decided to hire him to remove wallpaper and paste and to paint the walls. I am now waiting to hear from him for a date to do this job.

 + -1 moreI bought an Angie's list "deal" which was painting of one room for $99.00. I told him (in advance) the dimensions of the room and said that I wanted the ceiling painted. He told me it would be no big deal and would cost it the day of the painting. So it turns out to do the ceiling (and the woodwork) cost an additional $145 dollar which was absolutely too much but I was in a cast and on crutches and had no choice but to accept. Then, he only did one coat of paint when the "deal" clearly said two coats.

 + -1 moreFranco told me they would arrive at 8:30 and were on time. It was Franco and an assistant. They checked out the room and covered furniture and floor and began right away. Very polite and pleasant to deal and totally professional. He estimated the job would take approximately 2 hours and it was a little more than that. They cleaned up thoroughly. Franco said to let him know if any touch ups were needed but I have yet to notice anything. He called me at the end of the day to be sure I was satisfied. I couldn't be happier. I would highly recommend Ribo Construction.
Description of Work: I purchased deal for $99 for 4 walls and added ceiling painting for an extra $99. I bought the paint. Painter spackled a cracked area of the wall and explained clearly that there were some repairs he could not do (nail heads near ceiling that had popped that needed to be replaced by screws) and I was fine with that, they were not noticeable once painted. They did two coats and the room looks really nice. He removed and replaced my window blinds so they would not get dirty. Trim painting was not included. I am extremely satisfied.

 + -1 moreHe refused to paint the bathroom because he wanted to mark up the price any way he can. He refused to paint this tiny bathroom! He didn't want to paint the ceiling either. We had already removed the wallpaper and washed the walls. We had prepped the walls. We asked him to just prime the walls and he didn't want to do that either. He eventually said, "I'm out of here," and left the house without doing any work! I have had my whole house painted by Angie's List painters and used Big Deals for it, and I have never had any issues like this! I am disappointed and seeking a refund. I got the feeling it wasn't worth his time to be here at my house.

 + -1 moreWhen we called to ask about the deal, we were told that we were not eligible because they do not service our area but (A) they would be happy to refer us to others that do cover the area and (B) if we needed a larger project done, like construction, we should give them a call. I live in Maywood, they are in Saddle Brook. When I plug our address' into google maps, we are 2.6 miles away. I'm not sure what "area" they cover, but if I'm too far for a simple paint job, then I'm surely too far for a larger project like "construction." That just doesn't sound professional to me and I refuse to ever consider them moving forward.

I recently purchased a new home and started painting, Unfortunately, I was defeated by the 30 year old wall paper that took me day to scrape off. And I only got 1/4 off!!! . I knew I had little time left and I still needed to paint my living room. Her comes RIBO Construction to the rescue. I called and Frank came over to my home the same day!!! We set up a date and a time later on in the week. Franko showed up on time, was able to completely remove the wall paper, plaster, prime and paint my new study room. He also completed my new living room - all in less than 24 hours.

From day 1 they showed up when they said they would at 8:00 a.m. and left late afternoon after they cleaned up whatever job they were doing. I have an ill, elderly father for which they were very accommodating. They made sure he was always comfortable with no dust anywhere for him to breath in. Their work was impeccable. They paid attention to detail. Everyone of my friends and family have already asked for Ribo's telephone # because they want him to do work for them. I will also be calling him back in the near future for more jobs to be done. If you don't call Ribo Construction, you will definitely be making a mistake. My home looks brand new. I simply love, love, love it!!! Thank you guys. You are the BEST!!!
Description of Work: Franco and his crew worked on my living room, dining room, kitchen, hallway, bathroom and stairway. In my living room, dining room, hallway and stairway they removed several layers of wallpaper. The used joint compound fill and skim coat, sanded and prepared for priming all nail holes, cracks and areas that needed patching in walls and ceiling. They painted all of the ceilings and walls with one coat of primer and two coats of paint which were my choice of colors, although they did assist me in choosing colors which I love. They also removed all of my metal radiator covers and painted color of my choice. In my kitchen, they removed not only the wallpaper, but a section of wall paneling. They removed acoustical ceiling and replaced with sheet rock, using 1/2" board and sheet rock was attached using glue with nailed perimeters. "Field" of sheet rock was fastened with screws. The spackling consisted of the application of 3 coats of spackle which was sanded to a smooth finish. Strait flex brand vinyl, ultra flex no coat brand tape was used at all splayed (wide) angles. I also needed new outlets installed throughout kitchen which they cut into the formica back splash for insertion of electric boxes (very neat, no damage to my formica). They also installed a new 4" vent pipe for my microwave. They also did chair and shoe molding installation. In my bathroom they painted the door and window trim the same color and repaired my door hinges. They re-installed a window air conditioner which a previous contractor did not install correctly. In my foyer, they repaired my ceiling and then painted. My front door , they removed, sanded and applied 2 coats of stain with 2 coats of marine varnish. Anything I asked of these wonderful gentlemen to do they did with a smile. Always responded with a "no problem". They hung all of my pictures and mirror and everything had to be perfectly measured.

 + 2 moreWe couldn't be happier with Ribo-this is the first time we have ever had a contractor do exactly what we asked, showed up when he said he would show up, gave realistic expectation of time to complete the jobs and exceeded our expectation in the work he did. We are having him come back to do some additional exterior work this week (install new shutters and paint outside and inside railing) and plan to have him do an extensive interior project in the spring, along with having him replace all our windows. You will not be disappointed with Ribo Construction. Great work, exceptional price.
