Upon a suggestion from a friend, I contacted this company in December '07 to have front stairs replaced. Mr. DiMeola returned my phone call to discuss the job (you always have to leave a message-the phone is never answered). We discussed the color brick and I told him that I wanted my steps and walk way the same as my friends (a mutual friend) which had pavers for the top level and a paved walk way leading up to the steps. In January '08 the job began with demolishing the existing walkway and steps leading into our house and within 2 weeks, we had steps and a walkway. However, instead of pavers for the landing and walkway, cement was used (much "cheaper" and less time consuming than pavers). The step up from the landing to the threshold of the front door is so high, both my husband (who had knee replacement) and my 83 year old father have difficulty stepping in and out of the house. I still have no idea how this passed inspection! Clearly, another step should have been added in order to eliminate the high step up into the doorway. But again, they went cheap and just didn't bother. I left several messages requesting a call back from him to discuss the work, but after months, I gave up. A friend (who was friends with Mr. DiMeola) contacted him on my behalf and finally, in July '08 (6 months later) I got a phone call. He said he couldn't do anything about the distance between the threshold and the landing but he would replace the concrete with pavers. He didn't want me to be unhappy with their work. Well, he dropped off a sample board of pavers and I phoned him back with my choice. Long story short ... I'm still waiting and it's TWO YEARS later. And just to warn any future customers - Mr. DiMeola likes to gossip, so do not be lured into thinking that anything personal you're telling him is confidential. My advice ... try someone else.
