+ -1 moreWhen drilling our first hole into a wall after moving into a new house, we hit the cold water pipe... We had to shut off the water and contacted A-Absolute Construction on Sunday for an available plumber. They promised to send somebody within the next hour. The plumber arrived after two hours which was o.k. for a Sunday. He fixed the problem within 30 minutes. First he explained what he planned to do. Then he cut a hole in the dry wall, cut out the damaged part of the pipe and replaced it. He was very polite and professional and protected our floor and furniture in the area where he was working. After his work he collected the dirt and and pieces of the wall. We were very satisfied with the work and would recommend the company. As we are new to the country we cannot really judge the pricing. To us §275 for 30 minutes work seems to be a high price - but as I said we have no comparison so far.
Description of Work: A damaged piece of the cold water pipe has been cut out and replaced.

Performed work promptly and effectively, explained the steps in the process and completed the job correctly and at the estimated cost. I continue to use them because they always do the job as described here although price seems to be on the high side.

I had a coupon from the company for some prior work that I wasn't pleased with. I am happy to say the company lived up to its word and honored the coupon.

+ 0 moreI would highly recommend A Absolute. After Hurricane storm sandy and losing power for approx. 7 days, We decided to purchase a generator to eliminate any future power losses. I contacted Absolute to discuss options. The employees who answered the phone were extremely helpful and willing to answer all my questions and concerns. We set up a appointment and the technician showed up 30 minutes early and was fully equipped to perform the fabrication of gas line and completely finish the job in one visit. He worked extremely neat and clean, and was very polite. There were a lot of obstacles to overcome but fortunately due to a experienced worker none of these were a major issue. After the installation we had to call for the town inspector to come and approve the work which passed with flying colors making my wife and I extremely pleased. We definitely would use Absolute in the future should any plumbing, heating or HVAC issues should arise.
Description of Work: I had Absolute install a natural gas line at my house to run my 20kw generator.

Charged me $300 plus they wanted to send another plumber for unknown cost because the technician who came didn't have the right equipment. Avoid at all cost. Update: Received a service call from a manager and received a large enough coupon for future work. I appreciate the follow up and size of the coupon, therefore i am revising the initial rating.

+ 1 moreA-Absolute Construction sent the man with the snake to try and unclog the main drain pipe in the laundry room in the basement. He couldn't get it clear and called his supervisor. The supervisor came with a larger snake and it was difficult to get it through the access. We thought maybe we'd have to get the pipes out, which are buried under the house. He decided to come at it a different way. There's an area in the basement where there's a cover so you can access the pipe. So he tried in a totally unconventional way and got the snake through. If he hadn't done that, I'd probably have had to have the pipes replaced. So he really went out of his way to get the job done. He was a miracle worker because for a while there it didn't look good.

+ 0 moreI called because I thought I had a clogged sink drain. It took about a half hour for someone to respond. Sometimes you have to wait hours get someone to show up. Anyway, the plumber came in, he was professional, asked what the problem was and then explained what it probably could be. He then proceeded to check the sink, drain etc. He concluded it was a clogged drain and then got the proper equipment from his van and "snaked" out the line. The whole process took about an hour. They were quick, fixed the problem, professional and reasonably priced. I would use them again and recommend to others.
Description of Work: I called because I had a clogged sink drain. The problem was diagnosed by a well informed/professional plumber who "snaked" the line and problem was solved.

+ 0 moreOverall, I cringe when I look around the house and see hot water registers the entire length of my family room, bedrooms,dining room. I cringe when I look at bare pipes that have no covers (because plumber did not supply, and even took one, promising to come back with more of the same to finish the job. I hate that we cannot use our air conditioners because they sound like jet turbines. 10/29/2012 I'm writing this addendum to my initial review to say that Angies List Works!! Absolute came back and was willing to work with me to fix what was wrong with their initial work, and this time everything was satisfactory. They were very eager to prove that their intention was to have a satisfied customer, and I am.
Description of Work: Initially they had the wrong boiler delivered, took at leat 7 or 8 visits to have them stop all the leaking in the basement from the boiler. We have never received all the register covers, and when they came back to fix a leak in the attic from one of the plumbing vents which had been improperly installed, I gave the repair man a cover so he could come back with the correct style. I latter called Gil ( the owner) he told me to call different suppliers that he used and let them figure out which one he used on the job, because he did not have any record. The method used by this company is to wrap heat registers on every outside wall, so I have huge expanses of heating vents covering all my walls, usually you only put a hot water vent under a window, some of my walls have 25 foot lengths of hot water vents. I had them come back to splice into the hot water register so that I could put a book case against the wall, charged me $1000, and did not provide vent covers (had to steal them from bedrooms upstairs(which still have bare heating pipes) I just got sick of calling, asking Gil for help. Bedrooms in the front of the house are always freezing if the door are kept closed, because they do not have thermostats. The Air conditioners Absolute installed sound like jet engines and our neighbors hate us when we use our air conditioning, no one ever talked to us about noise from AC and there were options. + -1 moreVery pleased. AAbsolute has done work for us before - including afterhours emergencies - and has always been punctual, straight-forward, and professional. The plumber created as small a hole as possible into the wall, re-routed and soldered the pipes, cleaned-up after himself. The company later called to make sure we were pleased with the work. Considering the difficulties breaking into the wall, standard plumber rates, and the work he did on the furnace piping, I felt the price was very fair for the work.
Description of Work: When we bought the house, the hot- and cold-water lines to the master bath tub were reversed. The water connections to the faucet were completely sealed behind wall, tile and framing. The AAbsolute plumber (Danny) had to break through the wall and re-plumb the connections. The visit also included work to fix a condensate leak on a intake pipe leading to the furnace.

+ 0 moreHe came by and told me that I needed a whole new system, a new fan system, new plumbing and duct work, and he quoted $5500 for the work. He sounded reasonable but it also seemed like he wanted to scare me a little bit. I called another company and they came in and took a look and found that there was one little piece, a capacitor, that needed to be replaced, and which would cost me $24 a piece. I had to give A-Absolute a $1000 deposit and they were going to come the next day. They had ordered all the parts and that was why the deposit was necessary. I went to the bank and made a stop payment on the deposit, and I kept putting off the service. My husband spoke to them and told them that we weren?t happy, and that we had another air conditioning guy come in. He told them what it did cost us, and that it worked fine. I?ve not heard from them since. In my mind, what they did was fraudulent. They were good initially but then I got the feeling that they were not exactly on the up and up.
Description of Work: I had a problem with my air conditioning unit. It wasn’t cooling off, and so I called A-Absolute Plumbing & Construction to fix that.
