This was our first kitchen remodel, and the scope of the job was not terribly big: the existing small kitchen needed to be gutted and then reassembled with new drywall, cabinetry, flooring, counter, back splash, etc. No construction was required, only interior finishing. We were willing to spend what was needed to get what we wanted within reason, and we were not interested in cutting corners. The job lasted a long time - from early August 2013 to the following January. To put this duration in perspective, during the remodel our neighbors built a second-story addition, modified their floor plan, and finished before us. What we were looking for in a kitchen designer was someone that would provide a level of service, quality of product, and attention to detail higher than what we would expect to find at a home center. We chose Signature based on proximity and an Angie?s List Grade of ?A.? We found our initial visit to be a little strange in that we were given some cabinetry brochures and were basically told to leave and review them prior to making an appointment. Since this was our first kitchen remodel this seemed a little odd but reasonable enough. Our expectation in hiring a kitchen designer was to have a consultation about our preferences and then the designer would offer advice based on years of experience. Unfortunately this was not the case. Throughout the entire remodel, we were making decisions with little guidance. For the layout, Cindy initially worked from my rough diagram and measurements; she did not visit our house, located less than two miles away from her showroom, until after she showed us the first design. This design ignored one of the few requests that we had made - do not move any appliance or the sink with the exception of the refrigerator. Once again, we did not find her to be creative or provide the level of expertise that we expected when hiring a designer. After a doubled lead time supposedly due to a promotion by the cabinet manufacturer, the 14 cabinets were delivered on-time. Over the next several days, however, as they were unwrapped and laid out, many problems and defects were discovered. Issues included sloppy craftsmanship, incorrect hardware, warped cabinets and panels, missing doors and drawers, and trim with grain in the wrong direction. Individually, the cabinets looked great; but when put next to others or checked with a level it was clear that some of them were a bit ?off.? Two weeks later, with the work stopped, I met with Cindy and a representative from the cabinet manufacturer in our kitchen. Cindy did not visit the kitchen prior to this meeting in order to prepare, and as a result didn?t contribute much to the conversation. It would have been professional and courteous to stand up for the client, but that was not the case. While quick to blame the contractor for improper installation, the representative eventually acknowledged most of the flaws. He recommended that the contractor make the modifications and send him a bill. Our contractor has yet to be compensated for the modifications; I?ve contacted Cindy for assistance in getting this resolved with the company and have been ignored. A month later, the replacement materials were delivered and work eventually resumed. These cabinet-related delays had a snowball effect, throwing us off our contractor?s schedule, which lead to further delays with other vendors that kept piling on top of one another. After the above meeting, Cindy never stopped by to see how the kitchen was progressing or even asked via email or phone. As work continued an issue plaguing the corner cabinets revealed itself once the cabinets? doors were installed. I usually communicated with Cindy via email, and after sending her an email bringing this problem to her attention, I received a reply from her assistant, which regurgitated a response from the cabinet manufacturer accusing the contractor of improper installation. The installation followed the plans that were provided by Cindy; if a special non-standard installation required, it should have been shown in the diagram or we should have been informed as a professional courtesy. If our installation was so improper, it should have also been apparent to the cabinet manufacturer representative and our kitchen designer, ?experts? that were in the kitchen months earlier looking at the cabinets adjacent to those in question. Since they didn?t notice the problem, we had no reason to believe there was one. After some inquiries and research, we were told by another kitchen designer that this was just poor design by Cindy and the cabinet manufacturer. Further evidence shows that the design of the cabinets does not adhere to the specifications required by the door hardware manufacturer. After informing Cindy via email that there was a fault with the design, I soon received an insulting voicemail message from the cabinet manufacturer representative as a response. Rather than be a liaison with the cabinet company, it seemed like Cindy hid behind them. We really felt as though once Cindy had her money, she couldn?t care less about us and our kitchen remodel. We cannot recommend Signature to anyone, and are embarrassed to have the cabinets she sold us in our home. Based on our experience with her, Cindy is a poor listener, a poor communicator, does not follow directions well, and is often unresponsive and indifferent. For this, she has earned a grade of ?F.?

Our last correspondence was in late October and we were discussing the possible solutions but we never heard back from you. The number of issues you addressed are manufacturer based. We have continued numerous times to contact Teddwood to get you a credit for the issues. After the site visit to your residence Teddwood believes a number of the issues were due to improper installation. They are willing to credit you $300 for the repairs. We hope this will be acceptable to you, and hope also that this will provide a basis for continuing our relationship. My husband and I were looking to expand our current kitchen and contacted several companies including Signature Kitchen and Bath. From the very beginning Jennifer Spiegel was extremely responsive, professional and very prompt answering all our questions and addressing our concerns with patience. We visited the showroom on a Saturday and spent a couple of hours with her and were very impressed by her knowledge and enthusiasm. She made several suggestions and it was clear that she is very good at what she does. In the end we decided to move the project in a different direction but we wanted to write this review and let everyone know how happy we were with this company. Should we need kitchen or bath services in the future, we will definitely consider using them.

I used a contractor that obtained the Cabinets from Kitchen and Bath, I really needed new kitchen cabinets that a came close to matching the bottom cabinets in the kitchen. They were able to obtain the cabinets that are actually better than our original cabinets so I will be using them to replace the rest.
Description of Work: My cabinets were ruined from a leaking bathtub and I needed new cabinets immediately. I tried to get them from another company but they were not in stock. Signature Kitchen& Bath was very reliable and the cabinets are beautiful and are great quality. They truly saved the day.
