+ -1 moreOur 25 year old AC unit broke down in the middle of the horrible July 2013 heatwave with temps regularly 95 degrees and higher. I called Jay at Brienza Mechanical who I heard about from a friend. He came over immediately. He took a look at the unit and tried to fix it but said it could not be repaired. This is in contrast to a different company I called who didn't even try to repair it and just said it needed to be replaced. I got three estimates and Jay was $100 over the lowest. However, his estimate included changing the entire inside unit not just the coils and outside unit. In addition, his estimate was for a high efficiency 16 SEER AC and new high efficiency gas furnace and air handler. The other estimates did not include a high efficiency condensing furnace. His estimate took about an hour as he walked me around and explained all of my options. He actually presented a few different options for equipment with varying price points. Installation took 1 full day. After installation he explained the system in detail. Installation was smooth and the basement was actually cleaner afterwards than before. My neighbor's AC also needs replacing and after meeting Jay and seeing the job he did for me, my neighbor is using him too.
Description of Work: Jay replaced my entire 5 ton AC system including the outside condenser, line, and entire inside unit including the coils, air handler, and gas furnace.
