They were terrible. I wouldn't recommend them to anybody at any time. I switched to another oil company. They actually let my neighbor and me run out of oil and we have 1000 gallon tanks. They said they were going to come back and deliver the rest, but they never came to either one of us. My neighbors are elderly. I actually had a stick so I went out and stuck the tank and according to the schedule where they tell how many gallons for how many inches, I had about 65 gallons left. If I hadn't got the other oil company I would have been stuck in all the snow with no oil. Able Oil has 2 different locations. One is more of a business office. I was listed under the one in Rockaway. Normally, I spent between $800.00 and $1000.00. I was on automatic delivery so I got the oil 4 times over the winter. They had insured my oil tank which is fairly useless and they delivered oil occasionally. They were basically unreliable and we can't have an unreliable company when it comes to heating our house if we are elderly or if there is a sick person or an emergency. They were our main source of heat and they didn't look after us. Most people don't even know how to stick their tank. It's a simple thing. The elderly people who live next door had no idea. I called them and told them to switch over to another company. Then they measured their tank and they were nearly running out which is really bad for the equipment also. The company was expensive. They were not professional, but there were some service providers who came to look at the equipment from time to time and they were terrific. But they were more individual than it was the company. The company made the final decisions about the charges. They overcharged and double charged.

The service man # 41 has left two nasty notes complaining about not having a whistle. We had a whistle installed for 300 dollars. The whole service has left a bad taste in our mouth. Driver 41 has also pulled a no show, without a confirmation call. He left wrong copy of the receipt, which had no pricing on it. I had to call the company to tell of the circumstances, and they told me they would mail a copy of the bill, which I still have not received. When they were cleaning the furnace they took they battery out of one of our detectors and did not notify us. They failed to reinstall the battery before leaving.

We?re happy with them. I only use them for the service but we do not buy our oil from them. In this part of New Jersey, it is hard to get service if you don?t buy oil from them as well. They are very responsive; we had a strange oil smell in our basement so we called and they had someone out the next day. I tend to ask a lot of questions and they were very good about helping me. This company responds quickly and I like their technicians because they tell me what?s going on. He gives me a lot of information about the system and what he sees is going on with it.
