I would say they are punctual and they show up when they're supposed to. The problem is they show up more than they're supposed to; or their billing has been a little bit difficult because I feel that I've been charged for service I haven't received.

Purchased a LARGE Cherry Blossom tree from Jones Nursery in Williamstown, NJ. Great selection, but they don't plant anything so you need to do it yourself or hire someone. The ball on this tree had to weigh 500 lb. Called Jay's to help get to help get it across yard and into the hole. They scheduled me the next day (which was amazing). Office staff were also very friendly and communicative. They were prompt, professional, and the price was reasonable. Would definitely use them again. After the work was done I had a question about cost as it related to the service. Owner called right away and was polite and patient with my questions. We reached an agreement/understanding and that was it. Overall, a very positive experience.

I first contacted provider in March and Chad responded immediately. He came out walked the property with me, making suggestions along with my requests. After measuring, he worked up the estimate on the spot. It wasn't until late April, that I got back to him. I had a definite time frame I wanted work done, and being short notice they were able to accommodate me. Schedule day of work very gloomy, cold, and damp. To my surprise, crew showed up on time, and worked through the dismal weather until the job was done. Crew was friendly, kept me appraised along the way making sure I was happy.

Just a Great Experience! Our backyard was a mess from the previous owner. Tony came out and walked the property with me listened to what I needed done and made recommendations. His crew was fantastic, these guys made our backyard livable again. They were friendly and kept us informed on what they were doing and answered questions and told us how to care for our new lawn. Just a great experience. I will definitely be using Jay's again for our front yard in the future.

Chad from Jay's Landscaping came out and walked the property with us. He made recommendations and was very knowledgeable. We had a lot of different areas in the yard that needed to be addressed which included removing and replacing dead trees, cleaning up overgrown areas and installing a grouping of trees to block another neighbor's house. We felt he made good recommendations and also negotiated a fair price with us. The work was done on time in a professional manner. The only complaint I had was that the river rock installed did not match the size of the river rock that was there. However, mixing it up with the existing will make it less obvious. Overall, I would definitely use them and recommend them. Glad I checked Angie's List!

Jays called me the day after I posted an email to them via Angies list and came out following day for quote. That was a Wednesday.. I asked if they could complete the work before I was having guests to my home a week and half later on a Saturday. He noted it on the quote and they arrived as promised and did a great job! Took all debris with them and even cut and edged the lawn, which I was not expecting. About half the cost was for the general edging and mulching and half for the new shrubs and replacement around cable box. I thought this was a very fair price based on work I've had done in the past. They arrive @3pm and we're done by @630pm. Their responsiveness was one thing that stands out for me and why I would recommend them. And the end result was clean and looked great, better then what I've been able to do in the past. Well done jays! Will be using you again for sure! By the way, I contact two other local providers (thru Angie's list) and never even got a call back!!

They came out on time. Took care of my Jupiter bush and cleaned up the mess. Jays was extremely reasonable. Will use them again!!!!

I had not mowed my lawn since literally Memorial Day, and it was a god-awful mess. It looks beautiful now. I really appreciate that Jay was able to work with me to arrange a time to come out and give me an estimate. Also, the work got done sooner than he originally thought: at first he said within 10 days, and then he said by the end of the week. That was on Monday, and they got it done by 3:00 on Wednesday. I appreciate it, and I'm sure my neighbors do as well. (Seriously, my yard looked really bad. Not anymore.)

This is the third service that we've engaged from Jay's, and each one has been outstanding. After my initial request from their website I received a call from Jay within two hours to set-up the appointment date. The crew arrived at 8:00 AM on that date, and were meticulous about where to place the trucks and equipment so that they didn't block traffic. They immediately went to work -- literally within minutes -- and stayed on task for two days. They did an excellent job, and the crew was very personable throughout the effort. Really a pleasure to employ their services, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jay's to anyone.

First let me say, Jay himself came for initial visit and our interaction with him has been appropriate the whole time. The guys he sent to do the job were a whole different story. The job was done in one day and looked gorgeous. That same night our sprinklers turned on and there must have been 3-4 places where they had punctured the sprinkler system. There was damage everywhere on the patio. There must have been a 10-20 foot high water shooting out of our garden and brand new patio. We sent Jay pictures immediately the next day. He sent his guys out to redo some of the damage. But they only patched it all up. There was no reason a skilled worker would puncture the pipes of a sprinkler system while digging for the patio. That too at few different places. I was determined to never hire them again but wanted to get my money's worth for the damages. Thus we agreed to have them return two more times. But each time it was a patch up job. It never lasted or looked as beautiful as promised. There are still areas where water gets accumulated. It gets moldy, there are weeds growing within pavers, and it slumps off at many areas. The ground is uneven probably because they never re-leveled the patio once destroyed. To top it off, jay sent 3 guys, only 1 English speaking each time. The person who spoke English had one fractured hand so the others did the work. He forgot to install a pipe to let water drain out of my garden so he put that in. Never asking me to pay for it additionally of even mentioning it is extra. 6 months to a year later Jay is still calling my husband to pay $125 for that pipe placement. Finally I had to get on the phone with Jay and tell him we are very pleased with his attitude because he never once got upset or spike rudely but we are extremely disappointed in the services provided. We were never asked to pay for any damages caused by their initial faulty work even though they returned two times to fix it. In my honest opinion, we should have been offered a refund or maintenance on a timely basis to fix the issues that keep propping up. We spend $3500 for a nice patio and ended up with an unnecessary headache. The whole project was a disaster.

Jay's Landscaping LLC just started work yesterday, but we are happy with them so far. They were pretty efficient, I had scheduled them pretty quickly and pretty comprehensive. They came home yesterday and they were just doing some stuff on the patio, so they are good. The cleanup was fine, you don't have much of straining with them.

I was stumped as a gardener on how to handle some slopes in the yard, and finishing edges of the yards to look sharp. Jay very thoroughly answered all my questions (and I asked a lot of them) and provided useful and easy maintenance suggestions to resolve issues in my yard.

He did a good job on the steps, and for the most part they did a good job. It wasn't so easy to get a hold of him. They were responsive and somewhat reasonable in price.

In the front of my house, Jay's crew trimmed all of the bushes and did considerable weeding as well. They re-graded my property so that water would drain towards the street. After filling in the area with fresh soil, they added ivy, flowers, and mulch. Also repaired a broken drain pipe. The crew was professional, pleasant, and very hard working. After the work was completed, they did an excellent job cleaning up. I am very pleased and proud of the way my property now looks.

They did a pretty good job. I think I paid a little too much for what I paid. I had about 5 guys here that took them about 3 hours. I was left with a lot of bare spots. He was great and he came out the week before and was timely. They worked hard while they were here. I didn't think there was nothing odd going on. No, problems or issues. I just thought it was going to be days worth of work for what was proposed and only got 3 hours of work.

These folks did my lawn work for two years starting in 2005 through 2006 they showed up once each day every two weeks but never on the same day. THey often left a gate on our fence open which was a problem because of our dog . I was not impressed with the facet that they mowed our lawn too close / short even after we asked them to leave it a little longer. We had them dethatch our lawn once, and that was enough. the lawn never got any better using these folks and being told by some guy in a truck that it did not matter because our lawn was mostly weeds was the last straw. (no pun intended) Then after i dropped them i got a final bill three months later they said was do to a bookeeping error The Leaf cleaning was almost a joke they came by once, with half the leaves left on the trees never came back to finish up. I see them around town quite a bit so there are lots of folks using them they may have gotten better, the $600 is a probable estimate on overall payments for the year and a half. They will never touch my lawn again These are my opinions and my observations

They came out and gave me a pretty fair estimate for doing somework on my property and sold me on the fact that they would put me on a schedule and bill me monthly. Let me pay online etc. The problem was every time they were supposed to come I would wind up calling them at 4:30 and ask if they where coming. Then they would come at 5. This happened 4 times. Really its a rough economy, I have no problem paying top dollar for a service, but I expect it to be as promised. They did a decent job on my lawn but never could get it on a regular basis.

Tony came to our house to look over the work we wanted and to give us an estimate. He was on time and I did not feel rushed. He answered all my questions and concerns and was one of the most pleasant people I have ever met. Anytime I called him he was very responsive and professional. All the work was completed on time and done exactly the way we wanted it and even done better than I had hoped for. All the workers that came where very respectful of our property and after the work was completed they cleaned up so good you would never know they were there.

The estimate was the best price out of three. Jay came on time as promised. We agreed on a start date and everything went on without a hitch.

Per the above description, there was a lot of touch-labor involved in this job since the mulch had to be carted from the dump truck to the beds that surround the yard. The crew was good natured, enthusiastic, and certainly professional in all aspects of the effort. From arrival to clean-up, they accomplished everything in one day and left the property in pristine condition. Yes, the cost for this type of service is non-trivial, but we felt the value for service was excellent. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for similar service.

It could have been better, but they came back and made it right at the end. They were on time and kept the work area clean. They were respectful and held to what they said they would do.

Yard in poor shape. Weeds, sticks, invasive plants overrunning chain link fence. Walked around with me and asked questions about what I wanted. Gave me a written estimate for each "mini-job" so I could pick what was most important to me and within my budget. (I really liked that!) No pressure. Came home and vines were still winding through my chain link fence - neighbor had told him not to touch it! I reminded neighbor that it was my fence, her husband complained for years about the vines, and I cut them for years. Was now paying to have it done since I can't do it anymore. Jay sent his crew back to do the fence. Great job! All gone by hand-pulling, no chemicals. (I know it was a tough job.) Even though a lot of work still needs to be done when I have the money, what Jay did was done very well, at a comfortable price (actually, seeing results it was a very good value price) and looks good.

After perusing Angie's List for landscapers in the area with "A" resumes, we called Jay's to set up an estimate for the job. We have a fair amount of bed area that was to be addressed (about 17 sq yds of mulch), and needed to ensure that no vehicles would be driving over the sprinkler system and septic field. (You laugh -- and certainly Jay did when he came to estimate the job and we emphasized the request -- but we've had prior contractors actually drive a dump truck over the lawn. Amazing.) Jay arrived for the estimate within one day, had a more than competitive price, and had the work scheduled and performed in less than a week. The quality of the effort was outstanding, and the crew was complete and packed-up hours before I would have expected everything to be accomplished. On a general note comparing this review to what's already published on the List, I completely agree with prior comments regarding excellent professionalism and a good personal experience -- both with Jay and Lisa, his office representative. I would most certainly recommend their services based on my experience, and intend to use them again in the future.

We called Jay's for an estimate for lawn service. The price was excellent and we agreed to have them do our lawn. The crew arrived on the on the date specifed. The lawn was cut and edged, trimming was done around all trees, shrubs, flower beds, etc. The lawn was edged along all sidewalks, porch and including the grass divider between our property and the next door neighbor. When the lawn was completed, one of the men used a leaf blower to clean all debris from porch, sidewalks, etc. The walkways were swept and the entire area was completed in about 1/2 hour. We have used several lawn services over the past few years and have never been completely satisfied with thr work. Jay's Landscaping did a superior job on our lawn and it has never looked better. The men in the crew were polite, pleasant, well groomed and did an excellent job. We have contracted with Jay's for our lawn service and highly recommend them.

They never responded to my calls. I think they have more work than they can handle. I see their trucks everywhere.
