Description of Work: My central AC was leaking. There was an issue with the drainage. After the initial service, the AC was still leaking. I called back and another technician was sent out to rectify the issue. There was no additional charge and my AC is fixed!

Description of Work: I had recently had my central AC unit recharged. I contacted this company to have the Freon leak located so that it could be repaired. She quoted a service charge of $129. I asked if that included finding the leak and she said yes. I asked if I then had them repair the AC, would I get a credit for the $129 and she said yes. They were prompt in getting a technician out to the house. The technician checked the system pressure and felt cold air from the vents and after 5 minutes at the house, felt he was done and expected payment. I called the office and was informed it would cost $129 plus $290 to find the leak. I had made it very clear what I wanted done when I spoke to the office staff and was quoted a price of $129. The outcome was they agreed to waive the service charge and the technician left my house. Bottom line, they expected to be paid $129 to tell me what I already knew, I had to leave work to be at the house and accomplished nothing. In retrospect I feel the fault was with the office staff who apparently didn't understand what I wanted done and/or didn't understand their pricing structure.

[Member Name Removed] We are very sorry that we were not able to meet your expectations. Clearly there had to be some miscommunication between yourself and our office staff. Our diagnostic fee is $129 for non-maintenance agreement customers and that covers the amount of time it takes our technician to determine what the complete problem is. Once our technician determines what the problem or problems are he then quotes the homeowner the total price for exactly what needs to be done. All of our pricing is done through our computer system and is quoted to the homeowner before any repairs are made. (We determine our own diagnosis of what the complete problem is and what is causing the problem. In our 108 years in the heating and cooling business we have learned that the diagnosis made by others is frequently wrong or incomplete.) At your home we found that the refrigerant pressures in your system were correct for the ambient outdoor temperatures. In addition our technician determined that the temperature drop was within manufacturer’s specifications. According to [Member Name Removed] who was the only one home at the time, your system had been functioning properly for the past few weeks since you had another company add refrigerant to the system. The end result was we found no evidence that the system had a leak or was low on refrigerant. It is possible that whoever worked on the system last did not tighten the Schrader valves properly and the system lost refrigerant as a result. When they came back to add refrigerant they may have tighten the valves eliminating the problem. According to our tracking system our technician checked in at your address at 3:10 PM and left your address at 3:55 PM putting him on site at your home for a total of 45 minutes. In that you felt that we did not provide you with the service you requested or provide you with the level of service you expected we, at your request did not charge you the quoted diagnostic fee for the work performed. Description of Work: Since writing my initial "F-graded" review, I was contacted by the owner, Milton, who offered me a full refund and stated his policy is to provide a full refund if any customer is unhappy. While we disagree on the amount of time his technician actually spent at my house and what he actually did while he was here, I received the refund promptly.

The technician was courteous performed well and did so in a timely manner as in the past. The technician also performed diagnostics according to a checklist recorded the results and left me a copy. A/C system checked out okay after adding refrigerent. The technician also recommended renewing a service contract for next year which I have yet to make a decision.
Description of Work: Keil performed an annual preventative maintenance/ diagnostic evaluation on my central air system. The technician added refrigerent and then retested the system,provided me with a detailed report plus additional recommendations to enhance performance. Professionalism and quality has always been a major consideration for me. Keil is a fine company and I like doing business, however the cost of doing b u s i n e s s must be factored in along with v a l u e for the "buck". I think Keil comes up a little bit short on value, if you comparison shop.

I would use Keil again because of their professionalism and their quality work, however going forward this would be on an alternative basis not as the primary provider.
Description of Work: During the annual heating service Keil's technician discovered a breach in the heat exchanger on our forced air furnace. My wife and I were satisfied with this diagnosis, but were quite disappointed with the choices Keil proposed. Keil was our exclusive service provider for over twenty years yet we received "little" consideration concerning replacement costs. Keil had quoted us higher than other providers we previously had not contacted. We were astonished and wondered how many times we overpaid for prior maintenance.

The work overall was well done. Had some problems with noisy hot water loops(water hammer)that have been worked on at no extra charge. Installing an extra aquaste on the hot water loop significantly reduce the water hammer problems, but a few times a night we still get a good bang in the pipes. The still may be some other options to try.
Description of Work: Had to replace the boiler, due to a cracked segment in the old boiler. Took 2-3 days to get a new boiler. Once started on the installation, they stayed with the job until it was done, about 11pm. We have both steam and hot water loops running off the same boiler, which can provide some technical problems.

Initially some problem with water leak on gas boiler with the plumbing work they had done. They came and fixed it. On the air conditioner ductwork, they pushed too hard or something on a ceiling vent causing cracks and splitting of ceiling. They came out and looked at it and said it was "normal". However, as asked they did install a new filter system so I wouldn't have to go up to attic to change it. It took an extra phone or two to get that going. I am on a yearly maintenance plan. The second year of boiler operation, they recommended I get a new pilot igniter as it could go at "anytime". Being some new to home ownership, I said OK. I could of saved a $100 as the one I have now has been in place for four years.
Description of Work: I have had them do a lot of work. They removed old gas boiler and install new gas boiler. They also installed new air conditioner, condenser and all new ductwork. They even installed new hot water tank. Air conditioner price was cheaper than others.

THE SERVICEMEN FOR KEIL ARE ALWAYS ON TIME. THEY COVERED THEIR SHOES WITH BOOTIES SO NOT TO DROP DIRT OR OIL, ETC., INTO YOUR HOME. THEY ARE PLEASANT AND EXPLAINED WHAT THEY WERE DOING AND WHY CERTAIN THINGS NEEDED TO BE DONE.
