Everything went beautifully. Jim is very responsive and professional, his people were neat and the room just looks beautiful. We left our back door unlocked and each night when we came home you would have never known anyone was there except for more of our room being completed. This was the least stressful house project we have ever had. We are definitely using Jim in the future!

His crew has always done a good job. I really trust the crew and I have even left them in the house to run to pick up my kids. They are great.

Jim Reynolds is a pleasure to work with and a true professional. He responded to my initial call promptly and was very honest about his ability to schedule consultation and work (busy time for him). I appreciated his suggestions regarding my needs to restore that which had been damaged by water in the basement and materials that may help to prevent future damage. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. when his workers came to actually complete the work they were friendly, courteous and very respectful of my time and my home. They were efficient and very hard working. I do not have a single complaint about this company. I would strongly recommend using their services as it can be hard to find honest and reliable help. I will not hesitate to use their services in the future.

Jim at Ridgewood Home Maintenance was a pleasure to work with. We are very happy with the way the ceiling looks now. It transformed the room. Everything from the demolition to the tape and spackle was done neatly. I would absolutely use Ridgewood Home Maintenance again in the future.

We've utilized Jim's services several times prior to this since moving into the home last summer and we've always been happy with the professionalism and work performed. He takes the time to explain how he will tackle the project so as a home owner we feel confident about moving forward with it. They've (Jim and Oscar)installed our mailbox and house numbers (in brick), massive mirror over our fireplace, bike rack in a cinder-blocked wall of our garage. I always pick his brain on items that need to be fixed and if he doesn't offer those services, he refers me to his known contacts. We fully intend to utilize Jim's services if the need arises again.

This was a fairly straightforward exterior carpentry repair job, that took two men a couple of hours, using prefabricated porch columns. The quality of the work was good. Both workmen spoke English (not as common as you might think these days). The workmen took the old columns away, and cleaned up the work area when they were done. The price, which included materials, seemed fair. The only minor problem occurred prior to construction. It was sometimes hard to communicate with Jim Reynolds, the business owner, probably because he was also busy on other jobs. Overall, it was a satisfactory experience and I would use this company again in the future.

They finished painting over the repairs yesterday. Today, you wouldn't know there had been any damage or that they had ever been here. They also managed to move some fairly heavy furniture and custom artwork without any issues.

I had them rehang a door. I was happy with the job although it took him a long time to finally scheduel a one hour job. Then they seemed to be just nonresponsive. I asked for Jim to look at replacing a basement door. After continuously not coming out to look at the door, I hired someone else. I thought maybe he was busy so I called again for some repairs at my home. He came out to look at the job and never heard from him again. I want a contractor who I can work with to maintain my home and not someone who just shows up when they feel like it.

Jim initially did a walk-through with me a couple of months ago at which time I presented him with a long "wish list" of potential repair work involving some tricky items in an older home. Jim then prepared a detailed estimate of the cost for each individual repair item. I selected several priority items from the list and arranged for work to be performed today. Jim called the morning of the appointment as a courtesy to let me know to expect him later in the morning; he also called again 10 minutes prior to arriving. Jim and his assistant, Nestor, arrived on time and completed the work diligently, thoughtfully and with great care. While $280 may seem high for two hours of on-site labor, after considering the time Jim initially spent with me going through the details of each individual repair item and then the time he must have spent costing out each individual repair in detail, I think the cost of Jim's work was very reasonable and of great value to me. In addition to the work he performed, I also learned a lot as a result of his careful walk-through and analysis of the other repair work that I had initially asked him to evaluate. As someone who bills for services, I realize that many hours of unpaid work are built into the pricing of a project, as I'm sure that Jim provides a lot of estimates and spends significant time giving valuable estimates for work he never gets, so I regard his price to be very reasonable. There were no surprises. I am very satisfied and will be calling him again when ready to perform other repairs on my list. Highly recommended.

Jim responded immediately to my call and came right over to review and quote the job. While he was not the lowest cost for the job, his write up and review was professional and thorough. As he was able to do the job right away, we gave him the job. His people showed up 2 days later, as stated and did the job as requested and quoted. His workers were efficient, pleasant and did a great job. The price and job were exactly as quoted and finished in 2 days. We would use Ridgewood Home Maintenance for other jobs in the future.

I called Jim to remodel a bedroom in our basement. It was ugly! He came over promptly and within a few days had a satisfactory and detailed quote. He and his team showed up when he promised. The first thing that impressed me was the care they took to keep everything as clean as possible. Coverings on the carpet, sheets of plastic to section off the work area from the rest of the basement, and mats on the stairs so they wouldn't track dirt around the house. His team were all very nice and professional. Jim handled a couple change orders with total ease. He coordinated his subs and the work was done quickly and very professionally. We are very pleased with the outcome and would highly recommend Jim to everyone.

Jim immediately made a good impression. He presents as professional and knowledgeable and explained not only what work he suggested but why he thought that work was necessary. He was on time for both the estimate appointment and the date the work was scheduled, performed the work promised, and left the site clean. Once he arrived, I identified a few small items that we hadn't initially discussed, and he easily adjusted to those additional requests and gave me an idea of the additional expense. There was a piece of work that couldn't be performed because it required coordination with PSE&G, but Jim communicated that immediately and gave me the contact information so that we both could try to coordinate that item. Unfortunately, it fell of my radar and still hasn't been done, but I was not charged for that item. His rates were competitive and a good value for the service. I would definitely hire this company again.

Both projects were completed with care and superior craftsmanship.

Owner of firm responded very quickly to our request for service and for an estimate on some additional work. The repair to our roof worked perfectly, and we haven't had any problem with that situation since despite several heavy rain storms.

Jim came to our house and inspected the work that need to be done. He was very professional, polite, and knowledgeable. He gave me an estimate and was ready to hire him. However our schedules did not match.

Jim Reynolds of Ridgewood Home Maintenance does what no one else wants to do ... all of your little fix-it jobs ... thorns under the skin. Mr. Reynolds came to our home, assessed our needs and gave us a proposal. When we called Mr. Reynolds and agreed to have him do the work, he was polite and professional. Within a few days, Mr. Reynolds called to let us know when he would be back and approximately at what time. True to his word, he showed up and promptly began work. On the 1st half of the 1st day, Mr. Reynolds was able to replace and stain the faux ceiling in the kitchen pantry, filed down and replaced tiles in the vacant spaces in the bathroom floor. He could not finish because it was necessary to allow the tiles to properly set and dry. First thing on the 2nd day, knowing we were without a convenient toilet, Mr. Reynolds returned and finished the job. Thank you, Jim Reynolds, for maintaining the pride in your work which so many have lost along the way.

Jim was very fast at getting back to me from the second I called and left a message. He kept in touch with me as we tried to set a date to do the job. The man who did the actual work at the house was great, fast and my husband said even brought a shop vac to clean up any dust. I am so happy that he was able to help us out and would definitely use his company for any projects we have in the future. Thank you Jim!

Could not have gone any better- Jim responded promptly to initial call, was on time for appt, provided detailed estimate. Most important was communicating with us about start dates and what to expect. Crew was professional. Cleaned up after themeselves daily- Jim and his crew made this the most simple home improvement project we have ever done.

Overall, the experience was a positive one. While we didn't go through with the small job for which we received an estimate, we learned enough about the company to keep them on our list for major renovations down the road.

From estimate to start date to finish everything was on time on estimate and did a great job communicating about the job at teh end of each day. Very please with work, minor complaint post job clean-up could have been a bit better. But overall the timeliness and quality and professionalism made me very very pleased with the job and I would recommend hihgly.
