They were able to make the repair without having to take down all the tile. they had good imagination and provided good suggestions for doing this. When I had houseguests a few days later, they didn't know that we had a problem, they just thought we had made some improvements to the appearance of our home.

After spending a year and a half trying to source superior quality wood exterior doors with glass in an elegant look at a reasonable price, we were finally successful in locating and purchasing them at a price that didn't break the bank. Next step: hiring a contractor to install the doors and "make them come to life".... We solicited around 10 woodworking contractors for quotes on the finishing and installation of 3 custom exterior mahogany doors on the interior openings to a room that will become an office. The job additionally involved the build-in of one opening and the crafting, staining, and installing of mahogany trimwork around the doors. Our objective was to create an elegant look while neither going "over the top" nor doing something that would be "throwaway" once the office was built. The quotes ranged wildly above and below Jeff's. However, several of those who did look at the job and/or respond indicated that were uninterested in parts of the job, such as the actual door installation (seriously?), the finishing, or the build-in. I can only imagine what that would have become if I had hired any of them, and I certainly didn't want to become a GC on a home remodeling project (I've ended up there before). Several did not understand our interest in a simple, elegant solution that would be easily integrated with the future work in the office. Jeff got all of that, was very responsive, proposed to do the whole job, provided strong references, and demonstrated a great deal of interest in ensuring that what he was proposing was consistent with our expectations...even proposing thoughtful ideas that were subsequently incorporated. As a result, we hired him, and it was absolutely the right decision. Jeff and his assistant completely focused on the job, kept the workspaces clean and neat, and worked with a real focus and attention to detail until it was complete. They were polite, considerate, and a real pleasure to have around - when was the last time someone said that about a contractor? For a job that ultimately involved a good portion of 12 business days of labor, I would put Jeff at the top of the list contractors I've hired before for work of this nature. We did have one glitch - no fault of Jeff's, but it involved a different perspective on the look we wanted to achieve with certain panels on the doors. We simply hadn't sketched out drawings, and so each of us had a somewhat different idea on what that aspect should look like. We came to an agreement on modifying the work and the additional cost to do so (not insignificant, but reasonable given that it involved additional material and trimwork), and we all kept right on going. The end result is beautiful, and we have had several compliments on the finished product. We fully intend to hire Jeff for the office build project and a range of other building, remodeling, and repair initiatives around the house. Hire Jeff - he is terrific, and you will be thrilled with the results!

The price they quoted me was $25000. I had them come out and give me a quote because they had a good write up online. They were about 45 minutes late in coming to give me the quote, but I thought that they were very professional. I just went with another company that I felt more comfortable with.

I have an old house. He charged me about $2000 on the job. I had hired him a couple of times before. I like him because his price is always good. He is very meticulous and he is very detailed in his work, which is very important to me because he understands the nature of the old house. He does not do a quick-finish job. He does not disappear. When he has to be at your home, he is there. He is excellent in communication. So, you can always talk to him. I will use him again in the future.

I contacted Jeff after seeing his reviews on Angie?s list, he promptly replied my call and came out to the property to take a look at the job. He was very professional while evaluating the job and had lots of recommendations for improvements. He looked at the job on a Saturday and promised to get me an estimate by the following Friday, I called Jeff on Friday to let him know that I was still waiting for his estimate and he said he will get back to me over the weekend with an estimate and I never heard from him. I decided not to pursue him since he was unresponsive with estimate I could only imagine how non responsive he will be after he gets the contract.

Jeff not only met our expectations he exceeded them. After having our fourth baby we decided to split two of our children's rooms to make room for another room. Giving Jeff a call was the best thing we ever did. Jeff's contract was the most thorough contract we received and Jeff's level of knowledge far surpassed anyone else that we spoke to. That is why we initially decided to go with Jeff. One of our main concerns before starting this project was that our children would not be able to sleep in their rooms during the duration of construction. Not only did Jeff calm our fears- he delivered. Our kids were not displaced at all during this phase- AMAZING. Jeff was meticulous with clean up and left the entire second floor neater and cleaner than the way he found it. Jeff always made sure the ENTIRE second floor was left in PRISTINE condition. During the construction phase- non of us ever got a splinter or stepped on anything. Jeff always went the extra mile to make sure that everything was done to meet his high standards- and I am glad that he did. His attention to detail far surpassed our expectations!!! Jeff made this construction project very painless for all of us. A couple of years ago, we had our kitchen redone by another company and it was a horrible experience- there was no level of communication and the project totally disrupted us and they did not meet the completion time frame. We met none of these problems with Jeff- the project started and ended in the time estimated. Honestly, the most difficult thing for us was choosing paint colors. (we should all have that problem) I am sure Jeff would have helped us with that as well if we had asked. We will be working with Jeff on future projects for sure. We will call on Jeff for all of our remodeling needs from now on.

During a strong windstorm, a large tree limb tore the power cable off our house, taking with it a 20-foot section of fascia. Although the fascia came down mostly in a single piece, there were broken and loose crown molding, chips in very visible areas, and the paint finish was ruined. PSE&G had restored temporary service, but we needed an electrician to install the permanent connection. Jeff was extremely prompt in answering our call and came over on the same day to a**** the damage. He understood that we preferred to have the 80-year old wood restored and reinstalled; unlike other contractors we spoke with, he did not try to convince us to replace the original fascia with a plastic facsimile. His estimate was ready when promised, was extremely thorough and included all aspects of the required carpentry and electrical restoration: repairing the smallest chips in the wood, sanding, caulking, repainting and reinstalling the fascia, repairing a skewed gutter, installing new flexible conduit from the meter to the PSE&G power lines, and reconnecting the service. He scheduled the work for the same week, and worked quickly and efficiently to complete the project with excellent results. The quality of the carpentry was superb -- the fascia appeared exactly as it had before the incident, without any visible clues as to the location of the cracks or chips. The seams and connection points to the stucco facade and roof line were invisible. I'm an architect who manages construction for a living, so I know quality work when I see it. Throughout the process, Jeff was friendly, courteous and completely professional. Although this was a small project for him, he handled it as if it were a large, important one. We are looking forward to hiring him for a future project.

We agreed on the problem, what would be done; He made a sugestion (don't take off entire ceiling so we could save existing molding) we agreed. They took down ceiling, found source of leak, closed it from outside, put up and painted a new ceiling.

He answered my call right away. We set a date, and he came when he said he would. He brought along a colleague, "the deck expert" to do the job. It was a great experience. They did an extensive amount of work in only three and a half days. They worked from 8-5 pm each of those days. They were also extremely knowledgeable.

This is a true professional. Jeff and his crew are considerate and product quality work. We had a few contractors/carpenters come in to give us quotes on installing a new door to our garage (entry door). Jeff made a great design suggestion and we knew he was the right person for the job. While not the least expensive of our quotes, his eye for design won us over. The project went exactly as we were told it would - there were no surprises. We already have Jeff working on a new project for us. A complete professional that I would certainly hire again.

I might use his services in the future to get the work done or to get a quote.

I found Jeff on Angie's List and had him come over to do an estimate for a renovation. He was on-time for our appointment and seemed very knowledgeable when we were discussing the specifics for the job. Unfortunately, I never received a quote from him even though I followed up with him by phone. I was disappointed with his lack of follow through and if he was not interested in the job, I would have appreciated an honest answer when I phoned him. It seems that other people are very happy with his work but based on my experience, I would not recommend him.

I would say that so far every project that we have hired Jeff to tackle, he has done a superb job. My husband & I are extremely detailed and have very high expectations that few can match and after a few experiences with other contractors, where we have had numerous 'headaches', we found that when it comes to Jeff Sauerman's work we could not be more pleased. Jeff makes working with an old house 'appear easy'. I must reveal, that to this day I regret not having asked Jeff Sauerman to do our 2007 kitchen remodel because the time it took and the multiple headaches with the general contractor and sub-contractors were innumerable. We are confident that if we had used Jeff on this project it would not have taken over a year and the process would have been seamless & not excruciatingly painful. With Jeff there is a lot of creative give & take and we have fully appreciate Jeff's input & attention to detail. Jeff's workmanship is remarkable and beyond reproach. He will see & point out any flaws before we actually see them ourselves and corrects them accordingly. He has a great work ethic, is organized and end of each day he leaves a tidy work area. We continue working together on as needed basis as we still have a few future projects pending for this home. That aside, to this day, I can reach Jeff anytime I need advice on a 'home repair' issue.

Jeff was extremely professional from start to finish. We have dealt with many contractors over the years & Jeff was by far the best. He is very creative & helpful in the planning process. He was also on time with all of the project milestones & always on call if something came up. His quality is first rate & we were very happy with the end result. We trusted him implicitly throughout the project, continue to use him on other projects & have recommended him to many of our friends.

He is very honest, and meticulous, he does very high qulity. He is someone that I count on and i would hire him in the future.

Jeff has done many other jobs for me in the past and I can say without a shadow of a doubt, that both he and his crews are extremely professional, courteous, and the quality of their work is excellent. My deck is beautiful and the price was perfect. I highly recommend him.
