It went terribly wrong from the beginning. We began discussing our fence project in October, gave a $500 deposit to "get on the schedule" in November, and were assured work would begin after the holidays, since it was such a mild winter. FINALLY signed a contract in March, then gave $2,000 to purchase materials and that's when the song and dance began. Materials were never ready and we were told we were being put on hold for a "bigger job." FINALLY came out in July to work on fence, took a week, "materials are on the way" we were told as the workers sat in our driveway doing nothing waiting for an "invisible" truck to pull up. Really??? The owner of this company, Harry Pontecorvo is so unbelievably unprofessional and rude. He would promise he'd be on site to work and then wouldn't show up, or show up late. He was also terrible at returning phone calls. His workers were sloppy and left a mess @ my home. But, here's the "best" part. Harry's failed to call for utility mark-outs before he dug into the ground to install our fence post. His workers were having trouble installing one of the posts, but little did my husband and I know that the trouble they were having is that they hit our sewer pipe. It wasn't until 2 weeks later after the fencing project was complete that our sinks and toilets began overflowing. Had Roto Rooter out here to diagnose that the fence post was through our sewer line. Roto Rooter refused to bill Harry because they had dealings with him in the past and didn't trust that he would pay the bill in its entirety. So, we had to foot the $1,300 after paying $5,000 for the fence. Harry began to pick and choose what he would reimburse us for his negligence. I finally told him that I would not deal with him any further and he submitted an insurance claim. Homeowner be aware, you want to steer clear of this "fence" contractor.
