I do most repairs myself, but when I can't I only use contractors from Angie's List. I called three contractors and everyone showed up on time to provide estimates. Two of the companies would not touch the issue without replacing the entire roof. Carlson understood the issue and provided a first rate repair. Not a "patch job", but a complete solution to the problem. The showed up on time, did a good cleanup, and completed about when I thought they would. As for price, all the prices were comparable based on square footage, but since Carlson dealt specifically the problem area I only paid for what I needed. When, in the future, I needed a new roof they are the first ones I will turn to.

Initially it started out calling Carlson Bros. to fix small roof leak and do a roof assessment if it a replacement was needed. The owner, Ron, came out to our house punctually and immediately impressed my wife and I. He not only was conservative in his approach of fixing our leak but also whipped out the iPad and was able to walk us through photos of our roof and explain why our roof was in relatively good shape. From that point on he had our trust. My wife and I wanted to always replace the gutters and after last years ice and snow storms, we also wanted to do the heating cables to prevent the water running through the bay window. Ron was able to give a very fair estimate and required no haggling.On the day of the gutter installation, the 2 man crew came out and within a few hours completed the rip down of the old material, and had the gutters and liters up and fastened. The clean up was done and the following day the heating cable was installed. Overall, the entire experience was very professional, personable, and didn't cost any time on our side. I would definitely use Carlson Bros. again especially when it's time for the roof replacement.

My search for a roofer began when my gutter cleaning service noticed moss on different parts of the roof. They recommended a roofer, who gave me a price for the cleaning, and also told me about the missing ridge caps and the problem with the ridge vent. When I tried to get additional information and the fee if I only had the repairs done, I never heard back from them. I then began doing an online search and through a different service I was put in contact with two roofers. One never went on the roof, but gave me a very high price for cleaning and repairs; the other went on the roof, said i needed even more work, and was not even the contractor I spoke with on the phone. I also called a company who just did roof cleaning. I had no peace. It was then that I discovered Angie's List. I called one recommended roofer who said I needed to replace all the ridge caps and do other work, and might consider a new roof since mine was curling in places and would need to be replaced in a couple of years. I also called Carlson Brothers. Ron Carlson came out promptly, went on my roof, and assessed the situation. He said some things were done incorrectly with the original roofing job 27 years ago, but since I have had no problems in all these years, he felt it was better to leave them alone. He, like two of the other roofers, found a few ridge caps missing and the ridge vent needing a little work to repair. Ron said my roof was in good enough condition for now, but that in a few years I would need it replaced. He also said NOT to clean the roof. Ron said it would be a waste of money since I was going to replace the roof in a few years, that it actually can make the shingles worse (similar view as to what I read online), and that the small amounts of moss were not going to hurt my roof. His company sent via email their license and insurance policy. After much prayer, asking G-d to choose the one He wanted working on His roof, it was clear that His choice was Carlson Brothers. I called Ron (he had given me his cell phone) , asked him a few questions and two days later his brother came out and did the repairs on my roof. He, like his brother Ron, was professional, courteous, knowledgeable, friendly, and very easy to talk to. I felt fully confident and left him to do his work without my presence. I couldn't have been more pleased with their honesty, integrity, character, knowledge, and work. I am planning to use them when my roof needs to be replaced.

The crew that showed up was both professional and polite. They went out of the way to make sure that their trucks didn?t block the street or any of my neighbor?s driveways. I was extremely impressed with the cleanup that they did given how much debris there was. I only found a handful of small scraps in the yard and most importantly NO nails. There was a minor problem with a small section of gutter but that was quickly addressed. You do need to carefully review the contract, I had to send mine back twice for correction so that it accurately reflected the work I was quoted. Also one of the selling points was that they take digital photos of your home and then you can go to their website and view your house with the different types of shingles. But unfortunately after I signed the contract I found out that it wasn?t available The bottom line is while they are probably one of the more expensive roofers; the crew did an excellent job

Ron came to my home promptly and took a look at the issue I wanted an estimate to repair. He explained that no work was necessary as no water was leaking into my house. He recommended some work I could do myself some supplies from the hardware store. Overall, I found Ron to be honest, friendly, and professional.

The technician that gave the estimate was curteous and professional. I did not use their services because I found a slate roof specialist that could repair the leak in our roof.

We would recomment Carlson Bros any time as we were very satisfied with their work and professionalism. Mr Doug Carlson was on the job every day supervising all work and cleanup. Not a nail or shingle piece left on driveway, wankways or shubs aftter the job was complete. Mr Carlson performed a final inspection and made sure that we were completely satisfied.

Ron was here yesterday and arrived on time and in a timely fashion. He said my roof was fine, but my gutter was too full, and he recommended installing a gutter guard to keep that from happening. The estimate was good, and we made the appointment for today. He included a few extras for me that he said he would take care of, such as nailing down some loose siding. Ron said that his brother would be here today, and he arrived with another man. They fixed the siding and installed the gutter guard on my second story. I’m happy with the way my house looks now. The price was reasonable.

Overall, everything was fine. After a bit of a mixup on the service date, another date was scheduled, the appt was kept and the work done was excelent.

Work was done promptly,efficiently and at a reasonable price. Everybody from the company were very professional.

Ron Carlson came by to provide and estimate and we agreed on the roof and gutters plus a few additional repairs that were to be made. He followed up with a written estimate. I wanted the additional items included in the contract and there was no problem with that---it's a good thing too because they were somehow forgotten when the work crew was here!The work was done beautifully--they were clean, prompt and the end result is all that I had hoped for. I did have to remind them about the few additional repairs--and it took a few weeks but Ron's brother came and personally did the jobs.I liked the company and the people.

Arrived when they said they would, and completed the job in a day and half. They were careful with the removal of the old roof. Did an excellent cleanup job.

They did great. They were punctual, clean, courteous, and everything went very smoothly.

Estimate was fair and reasonable, got a prepay discount of 5%. Beat all competitors, no surprises in process

Overall, they did a very good job, very quickly. Pulling all that material off our house created a terrific mess, but when all was said and done, things looked pretty good. (If it had been later in the season and my plantings had been more mature ,they might have sustained more damage. I did have to direct them a little in terms of keeping debris off some of my plantings.) They had given us instructions of what do to with our outdoor furniture, which we did not follow fully. But they moved all of our stuff carefully and stacked it neatly, not losing or destroying anything. There were two small spots under the eaves in which the underlayment had deteriorated so that when they tore off the roof, there were holes visible under the new roof. I asked them what to do about them -- I didn't consider them to be their responsibility -- but they volunteered to repair them. (It did take a couple of reminder calls to get them back out and to pick up the unused materials, but I know things can be crazy and unpredictable with the weather.) In any case, they did exactly what they said they'd do, they did it quickly, and they did it for a great price (much lower than other bids). I am not surprised they get as much business as they do.

One of my best contracter experiences. Called back right away. Scheduled an estimate right away and showed up as planned. Gave me a fair price and did the work beautifully and on time. My faith in Angie's List is restored!

My experience with Carlson Brothers, Inc. from start to finish was perfect. No problems whatsoever in dealing with them. I used them because of the positive experiences of others on Angies List and their "A" rating is well deserved. The office personnel (Denise), the roofers, and Doug Carlson were professional in every way.

It was a good experience. He didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. They were polite and easy to work with and took care of any cleaning before they left.

I had a leak in my roof. Ron came out quickly and left an estimate in writing for me. He gave me an option for both repair and replacement. The work was quickly scheduled for the following week and completed on time. I travel a lot and found it helpful that they were very willing to work with me on the phone and around my schedule.

The workers were efficient. They cleaned up after they were done. Minor jobs that needed to be done were accomplished with no extra charge. We are very pleased with our overall experience with this company. They provided expert professional advice on our concerns. Their price was lower than their competitors.

The job was excellent. They were totally honest and they do exactly what they say they are going to do. There are no surprises. They are very competent. Their price was very fair. I would use them again without a doubt.

We got two estimates but we will probably go with the other company because their estimate was much lower. We liked them a lot but their estimate was so much higher that I don't think we are going to use them. He got up on the roof and he was very detailed and very responsive. Other than the price, we would use him.

Workers from Carlson Brothers Inc Company were professional. They arrived when they said they would. They were courteous. They did their work and there was no delay. They cleaned up after themselves. I was pleased with their work. Their price was in the range of other estimates I had received. I would use them again in the future.

Doug came down to give us an estimate to repair our leaking sun porch roof. He provided 2 options: 1 was a repair to the existing roof that he felt confident would do the trick; 2 was a totally new roof. We decided to give the repair a try first. He came down and completed the repair as promised for less than he had quoted as it didn't require as much work as he had originally thought it would. Two months and several serious downpours later I am happy to report no leaks. Doug was great to work with, he was prompt and courteous throughout. He even allowed us to wait to pay him until the repair had been tested with some heavy rain. When we're ready for a new main roof I know who we'll be calling!

I cannot stress enough how happy I am with my experience. Carlson Brothers have top notch customer service that would put many, many other larger companies to shame. My only disappointment is that they only do roofs... I need to have my kitchen and my bathroom redone and I would not want to work with anybody else!! I've recommended them countless times already.
