Every time a serious rain occurred the skylight in our bathroom would leak causing interior damage. Once we could schedule an appointment (due to the weather this fall/winter, they very busy), they were prompt, efficient and came back 3 times to resolve the issue. The first time they replaced the shingles and redid the flashing around the skylight. The second time they sealed another area around the skylight and the third time they placed industrial grade roofing along the roof leading down to the skylight which seems to have done the trick so far. They called to check in and make sure it was working. We have been very pleased with their professionalism.

I called the main number and they responded within a day or 2 to set up a date/ time to meet at my house. Ron Carlson showed up and provided an estimate to fix the problem areas. The problem areas were a result of a poor installation by another contractor. His brother and a helper showed up the following week and fixed the problem areas. They fixed it the correct way within a few hours. They were very respectfull & honest, highly recommend them.

Their professionalism, service and clean up were very strong. We were very happy with the service and the job that they did. The only and very minor comment that I would make is that we found 4 nails on the driveway after they finished the job. It's a high roof and it probably fell. There were a lot of typos in the contract so they could probably work on that and make it look even more professional. I would definitely recommend them without hesitation to a friend or a family member. I would say the most positive things about how quickly they responded and how punctual and quickly they did their job. They had done other jobs in our area and that was one of the reasons why we went with them and Angie's List was very helpful in that regard.

Its a wonderful thing to have someone come quickly and tell you that you don't need his services. He was friendly, professional and told me the leak was caused by leaf filled gutters overflowing behind my siding, not leaking around my chimney.

They were very professional from start to finish. I was able to get an appointment for an estimate in one day, Doug Carlson came out and provided a written estimate listing all aspects of the project along with shingle brochures on the spot. I approved the work and a work date was scheduled for about 2 weeks later. Just as promised, the material arrived on site the day before and work began bright and early on time. The shingle work was done in about 3 days as scheduled. The gutter work was done in a few hours a day or two later. The roofers used tarps to collect debris and nails and swept up thoroughly when they were finished. I found very little evidence on the ground, lawn or bushes of what had gone on. I was really impressed with how accommodating Doug was after I changed my mind about skipping a portion of my roof because of a pending addition this spring. He sent the workers back the next day and they finished the extra work - no complaints or extra charge!The job was completed about 2 months ago and there are no issues to report. Carlson Brother provided the perfect combination of personalized service that you would get from a small company with the experience, resources and professionalism of a large company. I highly recommend them!

Overall the service was great. Mr. Carlson is a caring, honest and up front person who puts his custormers first.

They came to give me an estimate on a roof repair and seemed honest and fair. As it turns out, my issue was with my gutters and not the roof itself. They gave a recommendation for a gutter person since they don't do the size gutter that I needed and also gave me a quick assessment of my roof on the whole.

First time work was to be done the job was canceled due to rain, however the material supply company was not notified and delivered the job materials anyway. Work was rescheduled and completed very quickly. Some minor property damage was done during the work (step broken, ground light broken). This was addressed by a reduction in the total cost of the job. Noticed water running into the house from a window this past August. Rain was not going into the gutter because the shingles extend past the gutter opening. Have called and e-mailed the company to have the matter resolved. Company representative came when no one was home. Called the representative back and he said he would be back in few days. It has been several weeks and nobody has come back.

We took a chance and went with Carlson Bros. and we are very happy. They showed up when they said they would, finished the job in the allotted time and cleaned up beautifully after themselves. We've had several rain storms since then and our leaking problem is resolved. I would use them again and have already referred them to 2 friends who are equally pleased with their response time and the quality of their work.

These folks were great to deal with. Came and looked at the damage when they said they would, gave a fair estimate, and repaired the roof. I would certainly recommend for any roofing job...

The mason, who came to see the job said sorry, the roof is too high and this is out of his league. I hired someone else outside Angie's List and the job was done the next day.

Called for service call/estimate and they scheduled for next day. They arrived on time, were professional and courteous while I described the problem (leaking from roof into fireplace and surrounding wall. Carlson Brothers worker came in and evaluated the fireplace and surrounding wall/ceiling with a moisture gague and said there was none found. He then went up onto roof to inspect the chimney and surrounding roof area. When he came down, he showed me a digital picture of the chimney where the brick and mortar had worn away and the resulting small hole which was leading to the leaking. He said the roof/shingles were fine and recommended I contact a good mason. He refused to take any money for his time and efforts. It was refreshing to find a contractor that was both professional and honest and cared about their name and reputation. Unfortunately, I can't comment on their roofing services but if they approach their work in the same manner they approach their potential customers during estimates, I would expect high marks.

The work crew of three arrived on time and began the project around 8:30 am. They removed three layers of shingles and covered the roof with new shingles and materials. They protected the front and back of the property with tarp to catch the falling debris without harming the deck, patio, and shrubs. All debris was placed in a dumpster. The crew worked hard all day until the sun set. A supervisor came to inspect two days after completion. My new roof looks great and has kept the house dry, even after all the rain from Hurricane Irene. I would recommend the Carlson Brothers for all your roofing needs.

Had hired another roofing company to perform repairs and waited 6 months with them cancelling on me a bunch of times. Called Carlson and had a great experience. They came and did the estimate and told me it would be a couple of weeks until they could come (here we go again....)To my surprise they called back and asked if they could come the next week! Came and did the work very professionally. Was a bit more expensive then the estimate of the first guy but gladly paid to have it done right and when promised.

Purchased a home last summer and quickly discovered that there were issues with the roof that needed to be addressed. I searched Angie's List for the three highest rated roofers in the area and called them. Although each came to give me an estimate, and I am fairly sure each would have done a decent job, only Douglas from Carlson Brothers really impressed me. I explained the issues we had the past few months and walked around and pointed out areas of concern. I had done this with the other roofers, but only Douglas took pictures and jotted down some notes at each spot. He provided me with lots of information about the materials that they would use and how they would do the job. He also was the only one who explained how they would need to remove portions of my vinyl siding in order to run the water shield up the walls a bit. This was something I learned should be done and wanted but when I inquired the other two roofers, got more of a vague answer - along the lines of "we could do it". I got the estimate from Douglas the next day and it detailed everything we discussed. I had a few additional questions and asked for some minor tweaks to the contract, all of which were answered and addressed promptly either by Douglas or by Denise - a very friendly and helpful person who works in their office. We were scheduled for the Monday immediately after hurricane Irene, and so we were delayed a few days due to emergency calls they had to attend to and also some issues getting supplies from the distributor. I knew this was likely to happen and wasn't bothered by it and Douglas called me each night to give me an update. Once the work got started, the crew was great. Their attention to detail and hard work was evident right away. Douglas was on site supervising most of the day, only leaving occasionally to get some supplies or check on another job. One member of the crew noticed that a portion of our top dormer was not as structurally sound as the rest and Douglas came right away with 2x4s and plywood and they did a fantastic job of fixing it. The finished job looks great and the yard was impeccably clean. Bottom line is if your a perfectionist like me & want top quality work - then call Carlson Brothers, you won't regret it!

I have a leak in what I thought was the roof over a porch area. Mr. Carlson came over to look over the issue on the roof and inside the apartment. His finding was the window on the second floor needed caulking. The honesty and integrity of this company is incredible and I would recommend them to anyone.

Carlson never showed up and when I tried calling them got their machine and never a call back or any response. Terrible service.

Mr. Carlson, showed up for estimate exactly when he said he would. Said repair could be fixed within a couple of days. He was not kidding. Two days after he came, the crew was ready to work. Excellent repair job. Fast efficient crew and came in at estimated price. I would highly recommend. Owner operater.

A great experience and wonderful work ethics from Doug, Ron, and his entire crew. I would highly recommend them and use them again in the future.

Overall Carlson was very prompt and started work on time as they had projected. Material was delivered on time as well a dumpster to clean up. The team worked 5 days straight working in sections to strip and reroof. The team did a good job keeping the job site clean and clear and ensuring that any exposed roof at the end of the day was covered. Luckily we had pretty good weather for the duration. Overall, the roof came out very nice. We've had some big storms since the roof was put on and we have not witnessed any leaks (which had been a problem prior.) I also see no issues with the gutters and soffit vents. Three relatively minor areas for improvement: 1. In one area of the attic, Carlson bros. installed a new attic fan at no additional cost. This was much appreciated. However since they did not have access to the attic crawl space they did not connect to the electric. I found this out by inspection and was able to connect quickly and the unit worked fine. I suggested to Douglas that they communicate this better in the future. 2. I did find some minor material in the trees, was able to clean up easily. This was just overlooked by the team given the vegetation around the house. 3. two screens were damaged during the process, I notified Carlson and they compensated. Overall it was a good experience using Carlson and I would use them again. I have already referred them to two neighbors.
