They were wonderful. The roof turned out beautiful.They did everything the previous company did not. I used to have leaks and now I do not. I can not say enough good things about this company. They explained everything to me and gave a very readable contact.

I have great confidence in what Ron did and would not hesitate to recommend him to others. He responded promptly and was extremely courteous. He took the time to explain why we were experiencing the leaks in our roof which was relatively new. Our roof was installed by another contractor apprx. 8 years ago.

I first reached out to Carlson Brothers based on their reviews on here and they to come out and took a look at my roof for a leak I was having. They accommodated my early schedule by coming at 6am to check it out. Instead of pricing me for a job, they suggested a possible "free of cost" option to try before I committed to the estimate they gave me. Unfortunately, that did not work so I contacted them to come back out again just to reassure myself that they had a proper solution for the leak. They came back out again and assessed everything and gave me a very reasonable price for reflashing and shingling the area where the leak was at. We set up the date for them to do the work and they arrived right on time, ready to work. They performed the work with no problems at all, cleaned up everything and accommodated my request for them to test the area with the hose to make sure my leaky roof was fixed, which it definitely was! I highly recommend them and will be contacting them again in the future for any roofing needs that I have. Thanks, Rich!

Rivh was responsive. I had contacted a couple of other companies from Angies List, and one had quoted me $1000 more although I knew all I needed was the missing shingles, since I had my roof done about 6 years ago. The individual who came to do the job was punctual and thorough.

When i called to make an appointment to have our gutters replaced, the receptionist gave me the name of Pegasus Gutters LLC. She said that if the work was done by Carlson the fee would be higher and Pegasus does excellent work. I was impressed with her honesty. We have chosen Pegasus for the work to be done because the owner impressed us and it is a family business.

Rarely do I write reviews about service - however the experience using Carlson Bros. was so amazingly good I felt compelled I have been searching for a roofer for the last 3 months in northern NJ. A friend suggested I call Carlson Bros. Spoke with Denise who was very thorough and informative. I was given precise information on materials / timing and coordination of the project. I met with Doug Carlson who was very very professional during the original estimate and extremely thorough during the whole process. Price was exactly what i expected. The first day the team took great care to cover all plants and chairs around the house This same team performed the removal and replacement of the roof were very very careful to do it right. Each of the two days of the project the landscape was cleaned thoroughly . Besides the roof I also had new gutters and a new skylight installed. this whole process took 2 days . My property was left as clean if not cleaner then when they arrived. House looks great - neighbors were very impressed with the workmanship & diligence of the crew as well. Its a rare find to have found a contractor like Doug and his team !

They showed up on time. Did the job fast. Cleaned everything up before they left. We had one probelm, minor, they came back the next day and took care of it. We paid the balance after that was done, mailed them a check. Very professional and easy to work with during the repair.

I contacted 3 local contractors with great reviews on this site. The first never called back. The second came to our house but seemed to lose interest when we explained that we didn't require a full replacement--he never returned to deliver a quote. Then after another rainstorm, we called Carlson. They came out the same day and went up on our roof with an iPad. He then showed us videos of the problem areas. We could clearly see that our gutter was clogged and that our chimney had cracks that were causing the leaks. He returned two days later to apply sealant, and we haven't had issues since. I trust Carlson's company because they showed us exactly what was wrong and didn't try to sell us on a roof replacement like the other guys. I'm happy to recommend them.

Carlson Bros were not only the first to respond to my request for estimate they were the lowest priced. They took out the permit with the town and provided it before starting the work. The team showed up as promised at 8:00 AM sharp and began the work. They completed everything detailed and promised on the contract and more. The quality of their work was tested last night (9/12/12) in a horrible rain storm. I'm very happy to say the inside of my garage, which is really used for family storage is dry as a bone. Lastly I have to compliment them on their cleanliness. The area around my garage and the driveway was left spotless. THANKS CARLSON BROS.

All went very smoothly. My options were explained clearly and no attempt to "add on" anything that wasn't needed. Everyone I dealt with was very pleasant. The roof looks great and the clean-up was exemplary. Would definitely recommend this company.

Rich Carlson personally came when he said to provide an estimate. He put a tarp over the holes to protect the garage from predicted downpours until his men could make the repairs. A time and date were agreed on. The Carlson men were there on the button began work quickly, and completed the job in an hour or so with no hitches. I will definitely use Carlson Brothers again.

I only got an estimate. There was no work done by this company.

They don’t do gutters and that’s why we didn’t use them. They were high and double than the other company. They were not willing to do all of the things. It was not a written estimate but over the phone. We had somebody come and look at it and he was upfront and sent warning flags and called out to us and sat with us and talked about and gave options. He went to the truck and took twenty minutes and came back with full written details. I had read reviews about them and people were happy with his work. I had to do a little running around and there was woman named Denise who was very nice. When I called I didn’t always get a person but left a message but when I did speak to Denise she was really good.

They did a good job. I felt that they were very meticulous when they did their work and the owner was very good at communicating in a timely manner. They were very efficient and very good. They were right on time and very professional.

The guys who came out did a great job. The roof was completely replaced in two days and the gutters took one day. Denise and Doug were really responsive and would get back to us really quickly via email or phone and they were very competive with pricing. Doug provided us with an estimate for the work 2 hours after coming out to the home and the work was done in a very timely manner even though there was a rain storm that delayed work. The workers who came out were friendly and professional. I would definitely go back to Carlson if I need more work done in the future. The work was completed the other day so we will see over time how the roof holds up, but so far so good.

Extremely well. I had one issue with the color of the rubber material and Doug replaced it immediately. I was also able to use my Angie's list discount coupon.

Ron Carlson visited my house and an e-mail estimate was quickly provided. I had many questions before deciding to use Carlson Bros. They were friendly and patient throughout this process. My existing ice shield has a wire mesh at the eaves and they were willing to work around this condition. Carlson Bros. obtained a building permit from the town. The crew removed the old shingles, inspected and repaired some of the damaged deck. I discovered a missing component, which was immediately rectified. The ice shield, deck protection, shingles, caulking, drip edge and Cobra vents were put up expeditiously. Sleeves were place over the rusty old pipe vents and painted to match the shingle color. They did a good job. Carlson's crew was efficient and left the property in very neat shape. There are several bushes around the house; none were damaged. The gutter replacement was subbed to Pegasus Seamless Gutters. They were quick and professional as well. My only gripes are 1) Ron should have provided some type of roofing info (a competitor gave me the GAF Residential Roofing Guide, which was very helpful) and 2) the supplies should have been inventoried before starting work. Overall, a very good professional effort from a courteous business.

I got several quotes to repair the roof after experiencing a leak in my front porch which I converted into a den. Previously I had a handyman attempt to fix it but it leaked on an off after some but not all rain storms. I was told by Carlson Bros (I think Ron) that the only way to get a guarantee was to replace the whole section - of course this was much more expensive than the $100-500 range of quotes but I wanted the guarantee which was 12 years. The work went well but I have since been experiencing leaks in the same area which presents itself as wet tiles in my ceiling (all in the same area). The first time I was told someone would come. I did find an unsigned cryptic note in my mailbox (it was on a garden state lumber pad) indicating the back wall of the house and flashing was sealed. I called them just to be sure that they "fixed" the right area and was told they did so I repainted the ceiling I again noticed a stain in April and called on the 23rd someone came and sealed the flashing and was kind enough to seal around the chimney for no charge Unfortunately I noticed a leak again in June, I called on June 15th and was told someone would come but haven't heard from them I feel like if and when they come they guess what is wrong and have yet to pinpoint the cause of the leak.

This company did no work for me.

They always have someone available to answer the phone. We called because it was going to be a rainy week and we decided together to wait a week for better weather. They're very easy to work with. They brought 7 guys out and really banged the roof out. They did a great job and cleaned up everything when they were done.
