Mark (the "head" guy), Steve and 2 other men took 9 hours to move everything while 8 months ago a different crew only took 6 hours for basically the same exact move. Mark and Steve worked hard and were very polite but the other 2 gentlemen were lazy, on their cell phones a lot, sat around and overall moved very slowly. Several times I had to say to them to pick-up the pace and start moving. I have 1 more move coming up in the fall and not sure if I'd use University again.

Great Job. There was very little breakage. Overall they did a terrific job. Would recommend them.

Juan and his crew did a fantastic job. They were pros, no damage, and did everything exactly as we wanted. Very happy with them and will use for future moves

They underestimated the time and the amount of people needed for the move. They had to bring in more staff to complete the move and charged us. They did not finish the move until after 10pm and in the rush to finish they scratched a hardwood floor broke an Antique shelf. They had to come back the next day and pick up stuff they forgot to move. The worst part is that Michael C. their sales person/ estimator promised us he would resolve everything to our satisfaction. All I recieved after a year of broken promises, dozens of phone calls never returned was $300.00 refund check and only after I persued them through the Better Business Bureau . My out of pocket expences for the damage they did was about $1,300.00. Do not use these people they are not honorable...

The crew was right on time, Professional and friendly. They were very efficient and hit the estimate number right on the nose. I would recommend them to anyone.

They came to our New Jersey home and wrapped everything with great care. They delivered to Florida on time . The help in NJ and FL were professional and responsible and very helpful. I would definitely recommend this moving company. I am very happy with the way they handled everything.

First of all...hats off to Jimmy, Louis, Jorge and Anthony....all 4 arrive at 8:39 which as far as I'm concerned is right on time...they stated between 8:00 and 8:30 the night before. The morning was overcast and then it rained while they were loading from the residence and of course it started up again when they arrived at the destination. They took great care in making sure all items were protected from the rain. They wrapped the couch in plastic wrap and it's a huge three peice Bershire couch. They covered everything that needed to be protected perfectly and they finished the job in less time then quoted and under budget!!! I would recomend this company to everyone. Great job by all. They made what could have been a very stressful event very satisisfying. Oh and BTW...I forgot to mention that they moved the furniture from a house and had to move it to a 4th floor walk up apartment with no complaints.

It was very good. They worked really hard on a blistering hot, heat-wave day. Put in 12 hours, did not break anything and were very nice to work with. They worked really, really hard to get a very big piece of furniture. We were happy with them.

Excellent! Crew was punctually and under very experienced supervision. All of our furniture and appliances were moved with care. Every phase of the process was excellent. I got estimates from 3 moving companies and Mike Carolan's was the best price. The moving crew was led by Juan and they worked hard for 8 hours straight. Nothing was damaged and the crew was pleasant and professional. The final cost was exactly what was estimated. I've heard horror stories from friends who used other companies recently. No hidden charges, right on time, and hard working. What more can you ask for?

I can not begin to say how GREAT this move went. The men that can both day were professionalism, Punctuality and Responsiveness. Ii lived it this house for 30 years and rised for boys so I was every thing help for them. They helped great with husband worked around me so I could cry in every room. The next day they delivered my furniture to my Pa.home And moved everything around for me a couple of times for me.

This company was wonderful to deal with from the first inquiry. Mike Carolan was our main contact - He gave us an estimate that ended up being right on target - and no tricky added costs later. The movers who came were professional, efficient and careful. Even the head of maintenance at our apartment commented on them - "They have beeen here before and they are great-please give me their business card so I can recomend them." Our belongings arrived right on schedule and everything was intact-no breakage/problems. I would not hesitate to use them again-I recomend highly. There may be "less expensive" movers around but I felt this company was really not that much more than "doing it yourself" when you consider the packing, gas and headaches/stress of moving. They really know what they are doing. They care about their customers and their belongings. Second to none - and we have moved several times in the past 15 years.

iI had a great experience with this company beginning with my initial contact until the empty moving truck drove away. A representative came over to look at what was being moved and provided an estimate, which I feel is more accurate than simply using an online form or phone conversation. The crew of movers arrived right on time and they were professional and energetic. The move actually took *less* time than the estimate, so it ended up costing less than expected; this was probably in large part due to the fact that I pre-moved some 70-100 boxes of records, CDs and books to a room close to the front door, which did cut down on loading time. Nothing was damaged in the move and this was easily the most painless move I've ever done. I'd recommend University Van Lines without hesitation.

Very pleased with University Van Lines. They came highly recommended from MovingScam and I was not disappointed. They came out for an on-site estimate and said it would take a 3 man crew 7.5 hours (including travel time). In the end, it took their 3 man crew 7 hours (7.5 if you were to include lunch, which they did not charge for), so they were spot on. We did do moving of a few car loads ourselves, but this was more than offset by the fact that we had make a second stop to pick up some used furniture we purchased from another family who was also moving. The crew was professional, polite (as movers go :) ), and very efficient. We packed/boxed ourselves, but they had the entire place taken apart and in the truck in 2.5-3 hours, and unloaded quickly too. The lead/driver did a tremendous job getting their big truck backed up our steep driveway so speed unloading. There was actually an inauspicious start when one of them indicated that they company failed to provide them with a crate to use to load our glass table top, but nonetheless they got it moved without issue. Nothing was damaged and we were quite pleased.

The move went extremely well and was seamless. The entire process from the on-site estimate through packing, move and delivery of the contents was handled with complete professionalism and expertise. I actually felt relieved that things were going well and that Unversity Van Lines was delivering excellent service. I can honestly say that this move was a positive experience. Both the packers and movers were punctual. Because I live in an apartment building, the window to move in and out of the building is limited to a few hours. The move was properly staffed which enabled the move to occur within the alloted time window. Packing was done a day in advance and was handed with great care which included crating the many glass topped tables and other breakables including a big screen TV. The move was without incident and with the exception of damage to a lamp, all the other contents were delivered safely. Delivery was as scheduled and I was contacted in advance as promised. They we punctual and proceeded to unload the contents of the truck. The tracking system (numbered item count and detailed inventory) used by the movers including the packers, was instrumental and made the verification of the contents delivered efficient. I would suggest that prospective contractors of movers to do their research and to be open and candid about the move.

I was really worried about potential breakage and getting a lowball estimate, so I did a lot of research before settling on them. The company was professional and did a fantastic job. They showed up on time, worked hard and has a great workplan for both loading and unloading the truck (which rooms were best to go first, etc). They came in $800 BELOW estimate and took time to explain all the charges to me. They did not break anything (a first in my many times being relocated) and followed up after the move to make sure I was satisfied. Overall, they really exceeded my expectations. This is my first Angie's list review even though I've been a member for years, but I felt strongly enough about this company that I wanted to give them some good feedback (especially since moving can be such a stressful experience). I highly recommend them and I wouldn't use any other moving company.

We decided that we wanted to hire a mover this time because we both hate the backbreaking labor of moving ourselves. University Van Lines was a referral from a website. On that site, they received a high rating as a vary courteous and professional company, so we figured "this is the one!". They were on time and professional. They wrapped EVERYTHING in moving blankets. There was no concern of scuffing the walls or scratching the furniture. I was quoted, over the phone, 6 hours for the whole job. It took 7. They took one 5 min. smoke break, which feels like 30 when your spending $125/hr.! All in all, great company. I would use them again! In NJ, beware of some moving companies that say they'll charge $75/hr. They hire illegal immigrants that stand in front of the 7-11. Not professional movers.
