Scaldino & his entire team are true competent & reliable professionals who recognize the value of their customers. Within a couple of days, Scaldino's team got rid of of our wet basement problem by: jackhammer around my basement perimeter, instlaling pipes, reconcrete trench, install insulating wall vapor barrier. We were very fortunate to hire Scaldino, not only b/c the price was reasonable but also b/c of the quality service they performed.

My interaction with them went good. I liked them.

Basically, it started very good. The owner of the company came and did the estimate and he understood exactly what the situation was, came on time, knew how to remedy the situation and get rid of the problem, gave an idea of the price and then came back with a written estimate. Afterwards, I had them do the work. They were very professional, did the job quickly and as far as I can tell, they did a very good job, cleaned up after themselves, so we were happy.

They quoted me somewhere between $5000 and $6000. They were very good but I didn’t choose them because I also wanted some plumbing done because I wanted to move my washer-dryer from the upstairs to the basement and they don’t do any electrical work and plumbing, so I didn’t use them. They explained to me everything I wanted to know about basements.

The estimator did a professional job, but the salesmanship was not as good as the waterproofer I decided to use instead. This provider's estimate was a little lower than the provider I selected, but this provider said the job would take 2 days but the one I picked said they could do it in 1 day (and in fact did do it in 1 day). This job I wanted done quickly.

We very impressed with the efficiency and quality of their work. They started and finished on time and left the space just as clean as it was when they took it over. Before starting the work, they were very informative and thorough in their approach which helped me to better understand what I was getting. I'd absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a french drain or other waterproofing system.

Nick came out to visit the house to give me an estimate for a french drain. He is very nice, not pushy and he gave me a good price. I have decided to try to handle the drainage issues from the outside before I resort to the french drain. I will most certainly use Scaldino if I am not able to resolve from the outside. Nick is great and comes highly recommended.

Nick Scaldino and his staff Installed a french drain along two walls of our basement and replaced our old old sump pump. They were careful to keep the finished portion of our basement and upstairs clean -- carrying out and disposing of all of the dirt and rocks. They also advised us on the electric upgrading we needed for the pump to be properly installed. They did a great job. While we have not yet had any serious water events since installation (thenk heavens!), we are happy to report that we have not had any water seep in and the new sump pump is so quiet we don't even know its there! They were also very patient with our town permit process!

Nick the owner along with his crew is extremely professional. The work was preformed fast and quick. Basement was clean when they left. I highly recommend them. Added note. The float device that monitors and turns on the main sump pump went on the blink in January of 2013.(The back up kicked in) It started beeping on Saturday Morning. I call Nick. He return my call immediately and was at the house twice on Saturday. Had the problem resolve at 8pm. Changing the whole unit.

Job started timely, men did good job, and they cleaned up and did not leave a mess.

It was very fair price and he is a very nice guy. But I will need other services. He showed up right away.

I am very pleased. We had gone and asked them for more details and he came back and provided it. He gave us whatever we wanted. Once they started, they completed it in two days. One of the things why we chose this company is that they were willing to do both parts of the project for which only limited of the respondents have had high ratings. Also, because we like the presentation of the owner who came and discussed with us. It is a small company but it is personal and we like that.

Nick Scaldino was responsive to my initial inquiry. He was very knowledgeable and professional. His quotes were reasonable and came to me timely. His team showed up daily and was on time. Excellent job. He arrived on time to estimate the job, gave me an estimate on the spot, scheduled the work a day later, and performed it when they said they would. Crew was clean and did a very nice job. We've had heavy rains since and I've had no water in the basement at all. Very happy with the experience.

Overall Nick and the team at Scaldino are a true joy to work with. I wish more contractors were as professional and responsive as the Scaldino Team. He provided the follow-up information and quote on a timely basis. Doing the Projects: Team showed up on time everyday and were courteous and worked throughout the day. Part of the way through the project it was noted that the walls in the small basement bathroom had mold. Nick outlined a number of options and prices. Team finished the French Drain on time and everything was well organized and clean. The next week they demo'd the bathroom and replaced the walls and ran an extra electric line to serve the sump pumps - again on time an courteous throughout the process. A number of small problems were encountered with the bathroom which the addressed at no additional charge. Finishing: Final run through of the system was done in a timely manner and very professional. Final payment was provided at that time. All in all I would highly recommend Nick and the Scaldino Basement Solution Team.

The basement floor that Scaldino Basement Solutions did is not even. UPDATE AS OF 7/16/12: The owner came back and refunded me a portion of the funds so that I could have the floor redone with a different company. He was very polite about the whole situation.

I called for an evaluation of my basement and they very punctual and professional, the estimate was close to the other companies that i called , but what i like the most were that they did not push me to make a deal ,the owner Nick explained everything in detail ,and no like the other companies a big two hour presentation with the catch phrase "we are uniques and nobody can make it like we do" , he made it very simple. the whole job took about two days and the results" fantastic". finally he reviewed the finished job and he did what he told me. additionally he filled and sealed and old blocked drain and dug an extra trench that wasn't included in the written estimate, but he did it as he promised .overall they are the best!!!

It went well. No issues. They did a fantastic job.

Again very detailed verbally, they seem to know the trade, but no details. Specially, because our basement is finished, they would bring down the wall covering as needed, but won't put it back. We should get someone to do it or do it ourselves.

I am still deciding because I put the project on hold. I have narrowed my deliberations down to this company and two others. I spoke with the owner to fax some references to me after he promptly came out to review my basement prior to quoting. I presented the problems I was having and he gave me some solutions. He wrote up an estimate and I followed up with questions. He was very good, professional and friendly. I may use him again in the future.

I requested an estimate on solving the problem of water seeping into my basement. I was told I needed a french drain installed and it would cost $5700. I was hoping to avoid installing a french drain and have since looked for other cost effective solutions. Despite this, the representative that came out was very professional and helpful, and even pointed out that the sump pump I had installed wasn't installed properly and wouldn't work because the bucket it was in was too small. All in all I had a very pleasant experience with this company, and the only reason I have not hired them is because I am looking for a simpler and less expensive solution.

These guys are the greatest!!! I called them two days before Hurricane Irene came into town. I met with the owner and we reviewed the project . He gave me a fair estimate and agreed to have his guys work overtime to have the drain complete for the storm. The guys worked all day Saturday as the rain began. They recommended that we drill an additional well that was larger and we installed a back up pump. Water problems in the basement have been consistent and we survived Hurricane Irene without a drop of water. They really helped us and I am grateful. What I liked about these guys is that they were honest and did not give me an unreasonable price with the storm coming. They did everything they said they would and exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend them.

The team that arrived along w/ Mr. Scaldino were professional and courteous. They completed the job in less then one day. They cleaned up after themselves when the job was completed. I was very satisfied with the job and would recommend them to others. In addition I have re-hired Scaldino Basement Solutions again to perform some additional masonry work for a shed installation.

The quote was for about $6000. There was no big sales pressure. They seemed very relaxed and easy-going. They also seemed to be very knowledgeable.
