There is literally nothing critical I could say about Scaldino basement solutions! Professional from start to finish, good communication, patient, and most importantly, good quality and EFFECTIVE! The day after the work was finished, we had major thunderstorms and had a flash warning throughout the area. Our basement stayed dry as a bone, and has continued to be entirely dry for months after that. I had 2 other quotes - Scaldino's was the least expensive (but all were within about $1000 of each other). There was another company whose owner was a great salesman, and I was very tempted to go with him, but I relied more on the overwhelmingly positive reviews of Scaldino. I'm very glad I did! Would highly recommend.

I don't even know where to start. First, I want to say if you have water come into your basement and have spent days bucketing or manually pumping water out, then you should invest in putting a french drain. I'm a single parent and I'm not rich but I was just tired of this so I researched and researched and finally decided to go with Scaldino's. Why? Well, I got several quotes, some were $8,000 selling me their so called "invention" pipes. Other, bad mouthed other contractors. Nick came in to do the estimate and he gave me a nice quote. I was skeptical about the products since most others use different ones usually circular, but I researched them on youtube. My quote time passed and well I emailed Nick and apologized for going over the quote time frame to finally say Yes. He actually was kind enough to accept it and we scheduled the work. The work was achieved in 3 days. The crew came in with Nick explained what was going to happen and they put plastic to protect my things so no debris or dust would get on the. (thank you). The crew were very nice and worked very fast. Two or three days after the work was done we got 2' of rain and it was a success! NO water came into my basement! The pump is super quiet, I didn't know water was being pumped out that day until I went downstairs to check. I was getting my kitchen remolded that day and my kitchen contractor commended the workmanship Nick's crew did. WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU ABOUT THEIR WORK??? It's outstanding! I HIGHLY recommend a french drain in your basement and if you decide, I highly recommend Scaldino Basement Solutions!!! They beat the price and the workmanship!

Our basement had five to six inches of water following an intense deluge in the Spring. So we contacted three providers for estimates on waterproofing projects. We chose Scaldino, not just because we felt Nick Scaldino provided a fair price. But also because of his straight forward, no nonsense approach. He did not try to oversell or overwhelm with bells and whistles. He just gave us what I felt was an honest assessment of how best to keep out basement dry. And he patiently answered all our questions. He also was professional, diligent and attentive. He was easy to reach on the phone and returned messages promptly. He worked with our town to get the necessary permits. The project took three days just as Nick explained that it would. On the first day Nick and his team (no subcontractors by the way -- all of the workers were Scaldino employees) showed up on time and quickly got to work. They clearly knew what they were doing and they were all very pleasant. Overall, it was a great experience and I enjoyed working with Nick.

Work will be completed in two days, but so far so good.

Nick came out a few weeks ago to give an estimate for a new sump pump. He was very knowledgable and didn't push for anything more than what was requested. A few weeks later they came to do the installation. Nick arrived with his team of 3 and they quickly went to work. The chaps were very hard workers and finished the job within a few hours. The GrateSump looks great and I have confidence it will work wonders. I would highly recommend them for your basement waterproofing needs.

We hired Scaldino Basement Solutions for an annual cleaning of the pumps they installed last year. They showed up on time (early even) on the scheduled day. Happy with the job they completed and continue to be pleased with the performance of the sump pump solution they implemented last summer. They were excellent corresponding with me via email to set up the appointment. We weren?t in a rush for the cleaning, so this even involved Scaldino?s remembering to put us into the schedule a couple weeks after I initially reached out rather than me having to email again to remind them (again, the delay was simply because we weren?t in a hurry. I?m confident that if we?d had a problem, they would have quickly scheduled the work). It?s a little thing, but it really impressed me? we live in a neighborhood with only on street parking. Most contractors will try to park as close as possible, even if it means parking illegally. I happened to be driving behind the Scaldino truck when he arrived at our house. The Scaldino employee actually took advantage of a spot a block away from our house, since he saw it was available. He ended up walking down the block, seeing there was a closer spot and moving his truck. Seems obvious, but it was a really responsible choice that so many contractors in our neighborhood don?t make!

Where to start about how great this company is? All service was superior from start to finish. I started to get rain in my basement after hurricane Irene. After getting rain in my basement four times, I called several companies from Angie's list and got estimates from all of them. I called and got a calls back right away. Other companies wanted to do more work than was necessary or maybe not enough. Nick came by to give me an estimate within a week. His estimate for what I wanted done was spot on. The job I hired them for was to install a drain system on one side of my house as well as three new custom masonry window wells on the outside of my house. Halfway through the job we noticed there was mold on some of the wood paneling on another side of my house. I asked for a new estimate to extend the drainage to that side of the house and found it extremely reasonable. I decided to go ahead and have that side of the house done and they accommodated with no problem. I have hired them again.

We have had water problems in the basement since we moved in to the house over 15 years ago. Since the basement french drain has been put in a month ago, we have had not water in the basement and It has rained continuously for several days where the yard has been flooded. Overall great job! After a year, we still have no water leakage in the basement! Great Job.

They were good. They came right away. They fixed whatever the problem is the first time they came and they fixed it the second time. They redid whatever they have to do and we didn't have to call them back.

We were very pleased with our experience with Nick Scaldino and his team. We had met with a few different providers (one talked down to us because we hadn't read their reams of promotional materials before coming by for an estimate; another was an old-school local guy who didn't explain anything at all). I was getting frustrated with the process which is why I actually joined Angie's List. Scaldino was top-rated in the area, so I gave him a call. From the start, it was a different experience with Scaldino. Nick was a straight shooter, explained what we needed (and what we didn't), and gave us a reasonable estimate that was in-line with the others even though he was including more. I checked one of his references and had him start the following week. We were very satisfied with the work that was done. His guys were hard working (Nick was in and out throughout the process and reachable by phone and email) and focused on getting the job done. It's a messy process with lots of dust (they covered stuff, but it didn't do a lot), but they brought everything in and out of a basement window which helped. The job took a few days, and everything was done to our satisfaction. It hasn't rained yet, but with all of the snow melting, I'm sure we'll be able to get the true measure of the job soon enough. I'm confident that if there is an issue, Nick will be all over it. One last thing: on the heels of the waterproofing, we jumped in immediately with finishing half of the basement. Our GC was around during the days that Scaldino was working at our house (the GC was dropping off materials, dealing with permits, etc.), and he said that he was very impressed with the job that they were doing as well as the materials they were using. I took additional reassurance in hearing that from someone with a more informed viewpoint than my own.

the carpet was wet as we had a leak. I found them on Angie's list. They did work on the outside of the house. One of the stipulations I had was this it should not clog. It keeps clogging on the outside of the house now. It ended up causing more problems for us than we had before. Inside the house, they stared pulling off walls. Later on, I found out how it should have been done. They pulled out the entire paneling and wall from the ceiling and all the insulation to see if it was damp. Something that should have cost a few thousand dollars will end up costing at least 50 thousand. I am not an expert. I do not know how it should have been done. Another company said that is not how it should have been done when I had to redo the house again. It was not necessary to pull out walls. I was surprised by how they did it. I did give them permission to check the walls. My mistake was I told them I was remodeling. We did find some mold at the bathroom. He recommended me to a sister company to check mold. It cost me thousands. They changed their name recently, I think. The outside work cost 1800 dollars. Inside, they charged about 400 dollars. They took off a lot of things. It was 2400 dollars. When I found out how it should have been done, he then said, we just started doing this a year ago, maybe you need more of a specialist. He should have told me this is not what we do, right off the bat! All my neighbors were having mold problems too.

Our small condo association (4 apartments) hired Scaldino Basement Solutions to install 2 professional grade sump pumps in the area outside the foundation of our house. During heavy rains (not hurricanes, just hard rain) we had an excess of a foot of water in the area with standard sump pumps. Scaldino Basement Solutions came on time to give us a quote and update the quote at my request before we actually decided to schedule the work (over a 6 month period). They came on the scheduled day to complete the work and finished in the time indicated (although they were about 20 minutes late arriving. We live in an area with lots of traffic, so this was understandable. I still gave them an A for punctuality). The scope of the work included installing a drain in a brick patio, removing a concrete edge that was trapping water, and installing 2 commercial grade sump pumps. Through a slight missed communication, the drain was installed to the right of a drain, rather than the left as I thought it would be. Since it was in the brick and couldn?t be moved, Scaldino Basement Solutions gave us a discount on the work. This would not have been problem if I had been home during the work since I would have caught it sooner. Again, it was very minor. For future work, I'd draw a diagram of the layout. I have waited several months to write the review, since I could only test the work after a heavy rain. We?ve had multiple hard rain storms with absolutely no water back-up. Extremely happy with the work they completed and our building will be hiring them in the future for service as needed on the pumps (they do offer annual maintenance). The other people in our building are also very happy with the work.

I called Scaldino's and dealt with Nick Scaldino who was very professional and affable. The workers came about two weeks later and did a good job of replacing the sump. I also paid them to fix the paver stones in front of and behind the house. I was very happy with the work. I thought they were a little on the expensive side but when I called around to other places, I found that they were actually the most reasonably priced. Would definitely use again in the future.

They installed a French Drainage system in the basement to prevent future flooding . They had to remove panel walls and insulation, dig a trench in the cement floor , install a pump and dig a drain in the back yard. When completed they cemented the floor, removed all the old walls and insulation from the basement and disposed of it all. They were quick and efficient, had a crew of four men, the job was completed in one day.They did an excellent job , always ready to answer any questions I had. They did a great job

Nick from Scaldino Basements was very professional and prompt. He had no problems walking me through the entire scope of the project. His workers were very prompt, courteous and clean. He and his guys went above and beyond my expectations. Will gladly do business with him again if needed.

He said there was no rush to get the work done. He was very straight forward and honest. He was very professional, and pleasant to work with. I had confidence that if I needed the work done, they would be the right people to do it.

We recently purchased our home, and as one of our inspection items we had Scaldino Basement Solutions repair the sump pump. The old pump was sitting in an unlined hole in the floor which was causing erosion underneath the slab. Nicholas assessed the situation and determined that we needed a proper pit installed with a new pump. He was also able to reassure us that the erosion hadn't yet caused any serious damage. On the scheduled day his crew arrived and performed the work in a few hours. They were professional, neat, and left us with a brand new setup that was properly installed. If we ever need basement work in the future Scaldino Basement Solutions will be the first call.

Nick Scaldino visited to assess my basement water issue, and provided an estimate for a french drain system with sump pump. Unlike other contractors I had contacted, he was punctual for the appointment, wasted no time, told me exactly what I would need and for a very reasonable price. We decided not to go ahead with the waterproofing work for unrelated reasons, but we will certainly call him if we decide to move forward with the project in the future.

Scaldino Basement Solutions completed remodeling my basement after a previous contractor did not complete. They sheetrocked , tape and sanded, tile floors, windows . doors and plumbing completed . A very professional company who do outstanding work . I look forward to doing business with them in the future.

It went very well. they removed all the water and laid on their stomachs to dig the hole for the pump. the crawl space was only 2 feet high. I was impressed

He is super punctual. He had three estimates all together and I thought they were each gave for the different solution for the problem. He made the most sense to me that's why I hired him. We had a tremendous amount of rain since May and last night we got two or three inches and it was bone dried so I'm very happy. Before the work was done, if it just rain a tinny bit water will sip up from the floor so I was really happy with him. I will hire him back to do more work like putting in new windows.
