Mill Roofing did a fantastic job. The most professional roofer I've ever worked with, hands down.

Mill Roofing was attentive to our concerns during the planning phase of this project and during the construction, too. We were anxious about getting everything right during this one-time opportunity to fix our roof's the long-time problems. That lead us to consider quite a few options. Mill roofing patiently answered many questions, proposed solutions that suited us, and gave us an estimate that was competitive with the most reasonable estimates we received. Mill Roofing has an experienced crew that completed the stripping, the deck repair, and the re-shingling in a single day while protecting our shrubs and everything else that could have been damaged. (Our disappointing experience 25 years ago with another roofer taught us what can go wrong. Mill Roofing prevented any of that.) The old flashing around our chimney that failed so many times to keep the water out is now replaced with attractive soldered copper flashing, which gives us confidence that our ceiling repairs will last. Our house had an appearance problem created by stucco applied after the previous flashing was installed. Mill Roofing built up the surface under the flashing to be even with the current stucco surface, so our flashing now looks the way it should. We are thoroughly pleased with the crew's work.

Doug, his crew and his office staff were professional, responsive, and cooperative. The roof and gutter replacement work was being coordinated with another contractor's painting of the house. Doug worked with us and the painter (who needed to paint the fascia after the gutters were removed) to accommodate everyone's needs. His crew cleaned up after themselves meticulously.

i originally called three roofers for estimates. first one came out and only wanted to work with the materials that he wanted to use. we had already decided on the shingle brand and they were not what he wanted to work with. plus, he would not consider installing the metal roof on the front porch as we asked. second roofing firm came out and we got further along with them. we almost ready to sign up with them, but had to wait for the metal samples to come from the manufacturer to select the color. ( you can't select a metal roof color from a 1 inch dot of paint on a sales flyer). while waiting for the color samples, we finally connected with mill roofing. they came out during the day, measured and supplied us with a price by phone. however, we contacted them a few times to ask to meet in person. we finally got doug to come out after a few tries. as best as i can understand it, mill must not actively go out and "sell" new roofs as the other firms did. they install new roofs, but i believe they also focus pm fixing the problems others created. they must have all the business they can handle as they have been in the area for many years. Once we connected with doug, we explained that were were waiting for their sales pitch. Even though they profess to not have one, we got all the info we needed and actually got in the car to visit a home where they had installed the metal roofing. we also got samples of the metal roof material and color samples on this same visit. it took a while to get mill to "come around", but the work was done as promised and was worth the wait.

The owner and his son came out on a Saturday to take a look at our slate roof and the non-emergency repairs were done a few days later. They certainly knew enough about slate roofs and the crew that came for the repairs was very polite and quick to make the repairs. So far, so good. Looking forward to using them again.

The work agreed on was never performed because the contractor never showed up; I had been waiting since September 2010 and until early February 2011 when the rain water started coming in the house (because of the roof work that had not yet been done). Very unprofessional behavior, non communicative and elusive; even his quote was not clear and left a lot of space for potential changes along the way (for the same work). I finally decided to use another provider who did the work in a WE and gave me a clear and comprehensive quote.
