It was a cold and wintry March day when I wanted my windows to sparkle, and although snow and a sick workman interfered, Jeff was good to his word and had my house sparkling for her photo shoot. Jeff assured me that, no matter what the temperature, his crew could do my enormous Queen Anne Victorian (62 windows) in a half day. He recommended removal of the screens to make the house look beautiful, and it was a great suggestion. We have original windows on the front, and they are 129 years old. The crew was thorough and gentle, and I was thrilled with the job. We cleaned the interior windows ourselves to stay within budget and simplify the prep, but Gem's crew did "in and out" for the kitchen skylight and five basement windows, as well as a few that the crew must have felt demanded their touch. I can't say enough for their good work and positive attitude, given that the weather was frigid, they were pulled to fill in for another crew, and I wanted all the screens to be labeled (I followed him and labeled them myself). I wish I had found them years ago, before selling the house, which sold in two days :-) And yes, they even honored an Angie's List coupon!

Well. we had a little problem understanding each other because I’m sure English is johns second language but he showed up as soon as he could and did a great job, I will use him again

Starting with my estimate and throughout the job GEM was organized and communicated every step of the way. Looking forward to adding additional services this Spring.

Unfortunately I never found out how well they do the work, since I couldn't get a commitment on the date. They offered to schedule me in and then I wait until they become available. When I asked if we're talking days or weeks, couldn't even get an answer to that. For all I know it could take months. In today's environment who operates like that?

They were not able to fix the blockage but they did clean the gutters. I guess I misunderstood the service the provided. They don't do any repairs but will attempt to unclog the drain using a hose only. So the reason for my rating is because I wasnt clear on the limits of their service. I just unclogged the drain myself by taking apart the drain and clearing it.

Their price was higher than they advertised.

The men showed up at the time agreed to. We had cleared a path to all windows except one (we could not move a desk). One man worked inside and washed all the windows. He helped my husband move the desk so that the remaining window could be cleaned and then moved it back to its usual position. In the mean time, the man outside cleaned the outside of all the windows and cleaned all the screens. They were done in about an hour and all the glass was sparkling clean. They were neat, they were polite and they were professional. I will definitely hire them again. I had received an estimate of the cost over the phone based on my description of the windows and the total cost was within that estimate.

Quick and easy, they are coming back this year in a couple of weeks.

Provider came to give estimate on 30 windows for $299 Angie's list deal. Very pleasant estimator, but worked quite h****** getting me to re-do driveway and clean roof. (Roof actually needed it). I rejected both offers. I recommend that one read small print of deal very carefully; the count of windows and screens and sliders etc. is something you can't do easily on your own. Didn't realize he didn't include garage windows in estimate. At any rate, price ended up being 450 for my three bedroom ranch home. Their method of calculating was pretty complicated,(panelled windows, sliders, screens, storms, all a different price, and the invoice is not easy to interpret. That having been said, they did a nice job, and were courteous and professional. I had believed that they were local, but in fact they come from South Jersey, and workers had to drive on their own time to get to me.

Everything went very well. Arrived on time, worked efficiently, focused on the job. Friendly, careful. Took on an additional task that was not on their original to-do list.

They did a good job. There are still cracks in the driveway which I had expected that they would do their best to find cracks in the driveway. Their responsiveness was great.

Numerous calls to the provider over months to find out why they hadn't yet come to do the work, consistently told that the weather did not permit., yet we watched our neighbors getting their driveways sealed over this time by other providers. Last time I called them, they said they were trying to call me but the phone number was wrong, yet they had emailed me in the past and also called me in the past in response to messages in order to say that they couldn't come due to the weather. When they did finally come, they did the work well and quickly.

They removed debris with their hands. Did not use water to hose down the downspouts. After a heavy rain, debris came out of spouts.

I have never hired anyone to wash my windows; however, we moved and our current residence posed a challenge to my abilities. This was my first experience with a window washing company. Pro - The windows look absolutely fantastic! I have never been able to do a job anywhere near this good. The glass looks new. This was a very professional job. They had a set system and good equipment. Someone had obviously thought this through for efficiency and quality. The crew arrived in the early part of the specified time frame, worked straight through for over three hours, and had a typed bill ready for me. The two guys who worked inside took off their sneakers when they entered the house and they were careful with my belongings. I found both of them to be very pleasant and professional young men. The third member of the crew remained outside. Con - This was our second appointment. They showed up late to the first one and still had another job to do so we rescheduled. Spring is their busy time of year and I think they overbooked or underestimated the first job of the day or didn't have enough personnel on the crew. (The same two guys who came the first time returned this time with a third person.) Because of the scheduling problem, we were given a discount for the job when it was completed a few weeks later. We thought this was more than fair on the part of the company. The third member of the crew was new. He'd only been on the job a couple of months. He was a bit of a yahoo. The biggest problem was when he fell off the ladder and missed lading on the fence by one inch. Fortunately he was unhurt but a brand new bush was cut down by the falling ladder. He smoked constantly, which posed a distraction when dealing with ladders going up two and three stories. (My husband and I both have lung issues and we detest smoking.) While reinstalling the screens, he trampled one of the flower beds. I think this young man needs more training. However, the windows he washed were well done and the screens he cleaned look great. Conclusion - The two experienced guys on the crew were wonderful both in the quality of their work and their personal demeanor. I would welcome them into my home anytime.

They couldn't do becaz it is too far

They are familiar. In the last 4 years I've used them, they have the same team that returns to the house. They must be doing something right because there's low turnover. The crew are clean and careful. They have a great process of scheduling.

They were prompt, and cleaned up after themselves. The windows were spotless! The quote and payment invoices were confusing. It was not easy to understand their breakdown. However, we paid the bill cause it seemed about right.

Jesse and Damon arrived at time expected, they worked around window treatments and immovable furnishing, they worked quickly and neatly and finished in a reasonable amount of time. The windows look great and they were polite and pleasant to have around, and cleaned up after themselves.

They showed up at the time they said they would with 3 or 4 people. We had been told to move furniture back so they could get to the windows, although in some cases we were able to provide only a narrow path to the window but they did not complain. They removed the outside screen and one of the storm windows in those windows so equipped so that they could clean from the inside and outside. Virtually all of the windows looked far better than they had looked in years (when the interiors had been occasionally cleaned by our cleaning help and the outside done by me). The only minor complaint I had with the job was that they apparently thought that the third layer of glazing on some of the older windows was permanent (at least, they indicated that to my wife). Unfortunately I wasn't there to tell them that they could be taken off (by unscrewing some tabs that held the additional storms in place). Consequently, that set of windows still had some smears. I do have complaints about the listing. The page on Angie's list says "Free Gutter Cleaning ($75 value) on any completed Window Cleaning or Pressure Washing Job." but when I asked about this I was told that it only was under the condition that you purchased another gutter cleaning later in the year. It also says that there is a 5% senior discount but when I asked (by email) about this - after getting the estimate - I got no response.

I have used GEM Home Maintenance for quite a few years. I am very happy with the service they provide. They are very reliable and perform the services for a great price. The workers are always very professional and courteous.

In our experience, they have been very good. It has been a good experience. They did a good job for a reasonable price. They did what they said they would and did it well.
