During the pressure washing I got an awful damaged on my porch. A lot of things happened; I have all this stuff on the floor and it was a mess. I was very, very upset. I did not pay him. He wouldn't take responsibility for what happened. I did not pay him and he's given up. He worked with me before and done a beautiful job. The price would have been fair. They were punctual.

They were great. They did a beautiful job promptly and courteously. It went very well with these guys. They had a tough job too and it was during extremely cold weather. Our house was heated and there was a lot of condensation in the house. There was glass on one side of the room and they really worked around it fine. They came when they said they were going to and they ended when they said they were going to. They were quiet and they didn’t play radios. I was in the house and I hardly knew they were there. I would recommend them. In fact I have signed them up for exterior painting later on this year. I thought they gave a very fair price. At that time there were repairs and they had to sand it. The price was reasonable. They were very professional to deal with.

From start to finish Five Star was very punctual, responsive, professional and well priced. Joe is the owner and he came out did a great job. He came out with a large crew initially to remove the wall paper and prime the walls. For all the little finishing details he came out by himself on Saturday night and Sunday. He worked on the weekends for us because he didn't want to interrupt our business. I liked that he put plastic on everything and cleaned up afterwards very well. They moved heavy furniture for us and when we wanted more work done he obliged. If you want a good price and a good result Five Star is the way to go. Keep up the good work!

they were very professional and did the job in 90+ degree temperatures. there were no short cuts taken and they did everything that was contracted for and more. The crew was very efficent, and polite. The owner Joseph was there throughout, working alongside his men and directing them. He is very easy going and pleasant to deal with. I am very satisfied with end result, the house looks beautiful. I find it very easy to recommend "5 star painting"as it was a very positive experience.

The quoting process was fine and the quote received was thorough.

We had an agreement that they were going to start with a small crew & then finish with a larger crew. It took three weeks - and it should have, based on the work & agreement. Excellent - they did a great job. They also did exterior painting for us a few years ago & that was also a great job too.

The team scraped and sanded peeling paint and plaster from my very large hallway up/down and primed and painted everything. They were completely professional in every sense of the word, and this was one of the best experiences with a contractor that I have ever had. Don't hesitate - this firm is head and shoulders above others.

I supplied most of the materials for the work, so the cost was mainly for labor. All of the painting has held up well over the past 6 months, except for parts of the "garbage enclosure" that have already shown signs of wear. It could have used another coat of paint. I would hire him again, especially if I'm in a rush to get the work done.

They did really well. They were on time and provided good quality.

In 2010, 5-Star scraped down the entire house (3200 sq/ft plus garage) and painted it. Unfortunately, two years after they painted it, another layer of paint below theirs, put down by an earlier contractor, started to peel, although it had been smooth on the house when 5-Star painted.. They came out, took a look, and agreed to repaint the house for material cost only, even though the paint that peeled wasn't theirs and hadn't scraped off the first time even when they had tried. They were quite pleasant and professional throughout and I would definitely use them again.

Overall we were not thrilled with the final product or our experience. My initial phonecall was the most positive part of the experience. Lisa, Joe's wife, reassured me that Joe could do an outstanding matching job for the popcorn ceiling. An estimate was scheduled. Joe came for the estimate on a Monday and said he would have something to us by Thursday. I had to call on Friday to ask for the estimate to be sent. It was missing several items that we discussed. I asked for a revised proposal and that took a while as well. Many phonecalls in the process were not returned and the work was scheduled at a time that was very close to our initially stated deadline for the work. In the end, after my wife begged, Joe did accommodate our timeline better but tried to do the entire job in one day. The reason we hired this company is because they were the only one that was confident about matching the popcorn ceiling. Otherwise the lack of response would have been enough to send us in a different direction. These are the issues that I noticed with the work: The house had been prepped very well to contain all of the dust. Unfortunately when all of the tarps were taken down, much of the drywall dust was dumped all over furniture and carpets. I had to spend the entire evening vaccuming everything in the downstairs. The drywall job was not done properly. I fully understand that it is very difficult if not impossible to make a drywall repair invisible, but there are ways to make it very good. In our case there are seams that show that shouldn't regardless of this fact. Had he cut out the area more rectangularly, these abnormal seems would not show now. As he was leaving, I did a quick check of the paint job and noticed an area unpainted. I only noticed it because it had pen on in from before the paint job. I don't know how it was missed, but the painting phase was very rushed. I don't feel that there was much attention to detail. For the price we paid for this repair, I should not have these issues. I expected a top notch job and that was not what we got. I do not feel that this contractor should advertise for drywall services because it is imperfect. I think we would have been more please had another contractor done the drywall repair and Joe had simply matched the popcorn ceiling (which he did fairly well). Both Joe and Lisa were extremely nice in person and on the phone, however they seem overburdened with the amount of work and were very unresponsive as a result.

Five Star came to our rescue after another (well-known) local contractor gave us a terrible run around and essentially reneged on their contract. We were in a bind after fleeing the other company, because they had wasted our time and we needed our house painted before we left for vacation in mid July. At the time we called Five Star it was already late June, but they were perfectly willing to work within our time frame. When Joe (the owner) came to our house to look at it and prepare us an estimate he was extremely professional. He listened to what we wanted, and gave us thoughtful advice (such as using a creamier color than the stark white we'd originally had in mind, because the cream would help mask the dust from the street a bit better). Joe was thorough, asking us about every detail. Joe was clearly concerned with environmental issues. Before he left he gave us a pamphlet from the EPA about what services you should expect when having a home repainted safely. His attention to detail, especially the potential lead hazards was a relief, since we have a four-year-old child and didn't want her exposed to lead dust at any point. One thing that stood out for us about Five Star was the fact that they treated us as if we were important customers, even though we weren't some huge mansion or big commercial job. During the painting whenever Joe came across something that might need repair (a rotted piece of wood or a hole in a down spout) he took care to ask us precisely how we wanted him to address it. He always made us aware of any additional costs and gave us options before doing anything, so we didn't feel like we were getting strong-armed into paying for frills we didn't need. Joe was on the job every day, personally overseeing the work. His work men were pleasant and not intrusive at all. They never even asked us to use the bathroom or give them a glass of water. They even worked a Saturday to make up for the Fourth of July holiday, so they wouldn't fall behind schedule. At the end of every day, the painters cleaned up EVERYTHING. They left some ladder equipment at our house (with our permission), but other than that, they left not a trace. They swept up every speck of paint and debris and took it away. Whenever we needed to touch base with Joe, he made time for us. He let us know how everything was going and answered all our questions as they came up (Can you really fix the shutters? Do you think the blue for the shutters it the right blue? Any chance you could paint that weird door so it blends into the house better?). At one point his workmen painted a portion of our back porch the trim color instead of the body color and Joe immediately reported the error and they were almost done fixing it by the time we got outside to take a look. He never tried to hide anything from us. He repeatedly remarked that all he had to go on was his reputation, and he acted that way, as if his reputation really mattered to him. Oh, and a final bonus, Joe took pictures of the house from start to finish so we could have a record of the work and see if it came out the way we had hoped. It did! There was no extra charge for this service. That was a nice touch. In all, the experience was very successful. We were thrilled with the results and so happy we found Five Star after the misery we had had with the other contractors at the beginning.

They were great. They said what they would do and they did what they said. The pricing was fair and the quality of the work was good. They worked so hard and they did such a good job.
