I had squirrels accessing the attic of my newly purchased home (likely for many years) and I needed the trees closest to the house taken care of immediately to cut off their access (in addition to cutting off other access points). My original request for work done was quoted by Rafael at a great price and scheduled but I never heard from him until 2 weeks after he was scheduled to do the work. By then I hired someone else to get the immediate work done which was only part of what he and I had agreed to. Rafael claimed he tried to call me after I called him out on the no show but I had no record of a call from him at the number shown in the profile which is how I contacted him. The reality was that I still needed the rest of the overgrown and unhealthy trees cut down so I figured I'd give him another chance since the other contractor was backed up with jobs due to the storms. I paid him to trim one of the trees back and that went well. So I hired him to finish cutting down the remaining trees and remove the stumps. The job went well with one exception. It was getting late on the last day that they were supposed to be at my house, and the workers left really big humps in my yard that I was concerned about. I expressed my concern to the workers but was told that I needed to wait a month or two and they would go down as it all settled. When Rafael came to collect payment I expressed the same concern and I was told that he would come back and level it if it didn't settle properly. My concern was accurate. The big humps are still in my yard just as big as they left them 3 months ago. I've contacted him twice to get him out to look at them in addition to quote more work I wanted done. He has said he would come out twice now and not shown up or contacted me to reschedule. He did call back once and I think he must have realized he was returning the wrong call because he rushed off of the phone stating he would come by the next day but didn't give a time or anything. Sure enough he never showed up or reached out to reschedule and I haven't heard from him since and that was a few weeks ago. Bottom line is I paid him a lot of money to do a job that I now have to pay additional money to have completed by another company. He offered to do a lot of other work around my property but I will not be hiring him to do any of it. I've paid him close to $5k already for the removal of 2 evergreens and stumps, 3 small stumps, 5 trees and their stumps. The picture of course does not show the true height of the wood chip piles left but it's a good 6-7" higher than the surrounding ground in two areas about a total of a 15' x 5' area.
