Absolutely great. Jeff helped us to figure out great solutions to the problems we presented him with and he designed landscaping and plantings to fit with our situation and preferences. The crew was very professional, they came whenever they could (weather permitting), they accepted a few odd jobs that we tacked on and without our asking they fixed up a number of other little problems that had arisen around the yard. Altogether they probably spent 14 or 15 days working on our place. The finished products are gorgeous. Our walkway is more beautiful than we had imagined it would be. (I'll include a photo of part of the walkway; it cost $7500 which included foundation, custom cut 2" thick Pennsylvania bluestone flagstones, decorative stones on either side, and special underground drainage pipes that divert the water away from our house and the neighbor's house.) At first we thought the prices were a little too high, but given the quality of the work and the appearance of the finished product, I feel that we walked away like bandits. Jeff kept to his original price estimate despite various unforeseen problems that his crew encountered along the way. The first part of the job was relatively small and so it probably had a low priority among Jeff's obligations but after I made a single phone, call the crew arrived the following day and did the work. The larger parts of the job were handled as quickly as one could imagine, given the problems with snow and rain during February and March.
Description of Work: We had a collection of projects: repair stone steps, design and install a walkway alongside the house, plant a row of shrubs, build a pad for an outdoor shed then surround the shed with decorative stone, remove various trees, shrubs and trim others.

We have an on going relationship with them. We bought some flowers for a few grave sights that we maintain. We also bought a number of plants for our yard. We would recommend them with out question. Jeff Baumley the owner is the owner of the place. He has a degree from a local college. So he knows a lot about trees and plants and what will grow well and what will not grow well in various conditions. He is just a wealth of knowledge. He is a wonderful guy and treats you with respect one hundred percent of the time. I will absolutely use them again. They will be our go to nursery.
Description of Work: We bought some flowers and plants from BAUMLEY NURSERY LNDSCP & GARDEN two weeks ago.

As I said above, we had some crabapple trees that had struggled from the start. The soil in this area of New Jersey is clay and doesn't drain well. After about 5 years of babying the trees, I decided to enlist the help of Jeff Baumley to tell me what I could do to save them. I took a piece of the bark to him and he said that it looked fine, but that he would come out to the house to look at the trees. When he got here, he examined the trees and said they were defininitly struggling and should be much bigger than they were. He dug down in the ground and determined that the water table was pretty high in this area and that the trees roots were constantly soaked. For flowering crab, that's the kiss of death. He suggested that we replace the flowering crab trees with magnolia trees and a river birch tree which were well suited for this type of soil. We said that sounded good and he sent us a contract a few days later, we signed it, sent it back and within two weeks the diseased trees were removed and replaced with the new trees. He seeded the areas where the old trees had been and covered the areas with straw to give the new grass a chance to grow. Happy with the results, we sent the check right out. And when we go to check out other trees in his nursery, he always remembers us (if not by name, then by the trees we had planted).
Description of Work: Removed four diseased crabapple trees and replaced them with three additional trees. Jeff Baumley immediately recognized the problem that our diseased crabapple trees were situated in a low lying area where drainage was poor which didn't give the roots a chance to breathe. He suggested that we try two magnolia trees and one river birch which were more forgiving of poor drainage conditions. They've done very well! Baumley's was prompt and efficient and a good deal for the money. Jeff has even given me some tips to prevent the deer from using our Bradford Pear trees and our October Glory maple trees as antler fodder in the fall.

THIS COMPANY WAS GOOD. THEY WERE SIGNIFICANTLY BEHIND BECAUSE OF THE WEATHER AND OTHER CUSTOMERS. THEY TOLD US THE WORK WOULD BE DONE IN EARLY SPRING, BUT IT WASN'T FINISHED UNTIL AUGUST. IT WAS LATER THAN WE THOUGHT, BUT THEY DID TAKE THE TIME TO EXPLAIN.
Description of Work: THEY REMOVED SOME OLD DEAD BUSHES AND PLANTED NEW ONES AROUND OUR NEW PAVED SIDEWALK.
