I called Action Pool to get a price for a pool liner & install. Left a voice message and never got a return phone call. I do use them to purchase pool supplies which I will continue to do because they are conveniently located for me.

I have just had the nastiest and last experience with this company. I have been using them over 10 years and have mostly had expensive and frustrating experiences with them, and now I can add down right nasty to the list! The owner has been nasty any time I have ever talked to him, but today was the worst! I have continued to use them because I don't know who else to use, and the pool company I used in Avenel was even worse! I have a never ending problem with algae in my pool (I am considering just throwing some Koi in and just being done with the whole fiasco) and over the course of any given summer, dump massive amounts of chlorine and algacide and money into it based on the recommendations of the staff there. The two women who work there are very nice and give me relatively good info, except that it never lasts for long even though my "numbers" are good. The owner with whom I had the run in over the phone twice today, gives me completely different info and tells me I am not doing what I am suppose to be doing!! I do exactly what I am told, because I have the ladies write down everything so I don't make a mistake. He yells at me that he has had this staff 25 years and they would never tell me that the chlorine and algacide cannnot be put in together. I was told massive amounts neutralize the algacide. Well where did I get that from, they are the only store I use?? For instance, this week I had horrible algae on Sunday, so I scrubbed the pool, put in 2 cups of algacide (for an 18' 52" pool, over double the maintaince amount) was told to put in 2 bags of "shock" the day after. The algae continued to grow back during the week even though my chlorine was through the roof. He tells me today, you can't use two bags of shock on a pool my size because it's not enough!! Well they've been selling me bags and bags by two's and two's of the stuff for years!! He then tells me it's the chlorine that kills the stuff, not the algaecide. When I ask him the point of the algacide, he tells me it's to prevent algae. When I told him it's not, that I've used as much as 3/4 of a bottle, he yelling at me that's all he can tell me. 5 gallons of chlorine followed by some mysterious amount of algacide will fix the problem, have a nice day and hangs up on me! So I will have a chemical cesspool like I had when I took the cover off, only with crystal clear water with pretty green and yellow moss and still can't use.
