John showed up with a helper 1st thing Monday morning, laid down drop clothes and headed up to the attic. The job entailed not only installing the furnace and indoor cooling coil along with whole house filter but removing the entire existing duct work (hard and flex) which was originally installed in the house which we built 16 years ago. It took a full day just to remove the condemned furnace and duct work which was done extremely neatly in a very dusty attic. The next 6 days involved the following: *Installing furnace with new pan including rerouting gas line, PVC condensate drain pipe, copper R-22 lines and electrical. *Installing 14" round main supply duct work and 12" round return duct work all with R8 exterior insulation. *Installing 7" round hard and flex duct work with R8 insulation positioning the duct work exactly where I wanted it as opposed to what was easiest. *Moving the main return vent in hallway to a new position 2' away aesthetically more pleasing than the original position. *Installing a new white PVC vent pipe exiting the roof which he painted black to match the other vent pipes in the roof and look more historically correct unlike the original white PVC pipe with snorkel. *Installing (4) 4x8x1/2" plywood deck under and around new furnace. Bottom line is I never heard of or met John Farrell before hiring him to install my furnace and soon realized he is one of the most conscientious, knowledgeable and professional contractors I've ever used. I would recommend him to anyone needing HVAC service or install without hesitation. Incidentally, I did not find John Farrell on Angie's List. I found him the old fashioned way, by calling the manufacturer and asking for their largest wholesale distributor in central Jersey. When I called United Supply and asked for a list of HVAC installers they gave me one, John Farrell. When I asked them for others they said call John he's the only one you'll ever need.

I had used him as a result of the damage from the hurricane, so we did get a new furnace. He has been used for years by contractors; I don't know which contractors use him. He charged for furnace replacement and the installation. The experience was very positive. He was very positive. He is very easy to work with. He really seems into what he is doing, so he really cares about the quality of his work. I would definitely use him again; I am not sure what for, but I guess for a routine maintenance of the system.
Description of Work: I used John Patrick Farrell for furnace replacement.
