I was trying to schedule with another electrician who gave me a quote to take out 2 ceiling fans and replace them. He never responded when trying to set up an appointment. I called Electric Brigade to see if they could do the job on the date that I needed. They were easily able to set up the appointment, however they were significantly more expensive than the original quote I had from the other electrician. My original quote was for $300 ($285 with Angie's List discount) to do both fans. Electric Brigade wanted $200 for EACH fan - $400 total. I told them I had a quote for $285 and asked if the price was negotiable. The woman I was talking to asked her supervisor and then told me no - not negotiable. I called another electrician who could do the job on the same day for $300 total. I don't get the Angie's List discount, but still save $100 vs the price I got from Electric Brigade. If they had matched my original quote, I would have happily used them. As with all jobs - make sure you get a quote from more than one company before committing.

The first contractor that was scheduled to do the job was a no-show, so I began frantically calling other electrical contractors listed in our area. Sherlon called me back immediately. After explaining my dilemma, he said he would be able to come over that same afternoon, and it was a Saturday! Sherlon is incredibly personable, and greets you with a big smile. He must be used to the surprise on people's faces when they first meet him, because at 6 ft 8" tall, he is definitely someone you look "up" to. I found him to be extremely meticulous with his work. What I thought would be a simple job, was complicated by the fact that the wires for both of my existing fixtures were coming out of the wall off-center. To install the new lights, Sherlon had to cut holes through metal studs and and re-feed wires through new holes in the drywall. He did all of this unexpected work with a positive, laid back attitude. In addition, he mixed up some drywall patching mud to do a preliminary patching of our wall. This was unexpected, but very much appreciated! In all, he spent about 5-1/2 hours on the job.
