Palmieri Movers

Our moving team consisted of three young professionals: Carlos, Elijah, and Darian. As soon as they set foot on our apartment threshold, these guys went straight to work! They began their service with a walk-through of every room to determine what materials and tools would be needed to disassemble and pack our furnishings and the best way to transport these important pieces safely to the moving truck. Carlos and Darian worked together like a human tornado, wrapping and preparing our furniture pieces. They carefully disassembled those pieces that could be parceled in smaller packages and made sure to adhere all collected hardware to the piece as they had been trained to do. These men spared no protection materials. They treated every piece of our furniture as if it were their very own, with all the care and professionalism one would expect from a reputable moving service. Meanwhile, Elijah was busy working to pack everything in our kitchen. He explained the mission of Palmieri Movers to us and was proud to be a part of their team. He made sure to group those things together that we would logically recognize when the time came for unpacking and Elijah continually checked with us throughout the entire process to make sure that he packed only those things that we wanted packed and that nothing was forgotten or put in the wrong place. When we finally arrived at the storage facility, our three men dispatched immediately and carefully off-loaded our furniture and all of our precious goods. Whether we were the only clients they visited or the last clients of the day, Carlos, Elijah and Darian would never let us know by displaying signs of weariness or complaint. These guys were real professionals who worked and stayed on the job until every last piece on the truck was neatly stowed away in storage. We are regular people who work regular jobs. Our furnishings are precious to us and we appreciate the care, courteousness and professionalism that our guys at Palmieri demonstrated on such a stressful day. When we close on our new location, we will call on Palmieri Movers again and ask for Carlos, Elijah and Darian if they are available (hopefully they will have been promoted!).

Palmieri Movers is a family run company. We first scheduled a walk thru to get an estimate on the cost. Due to my own travel schedule it was very close to when I wanted to move and I was worried that they would not be available. They were available! They were very punctual. The crew was very pleasant to work with. Very professional. Everything was moved without any issues and there were a lot of heavy items, i.e. treadmill and weight bench with weights. Due to where we moved to, the owners were close by and stopped by to introduce themselves. The estimator did a great job on timing and was exact. They arrived at 8:15am and finally left our new home at 4:15pm. Great service! I highly recommend!

Background: Interstate move of a one bedroom house. Chose and interviewed three moving companies. I made my selections from Angie's List. Requested estimates be base on in house assessment. I had a list of questions written down that I asked all three companies. After receiving the estimates, I asked a few more. ( I will be giving a comprehensive review of the company I did chose after our June 16th move has been completed.) I did not chose Palmieri for only one reason and it was a reason not within their control. They were "tied for first place" with the "winner". I was impressed by their responses to my numerous questions; In terms of both the answers given and the attitude displayed. I communicated mostly with Victor Palmieri. Here is what I liked about dealing with him: (1) He did a followup call immediately following the in house assessment. (2) Further calls and emails were answered promptly. (3) He spoke WITH me - not AT me. (4) He appeared to listen carefully as evidenced by his relevant responses to my concerns and questions. (5) He was polite and professional throughout interactions. (6) At one point I asked a question to which he did not have the answer. He admitted he did not know the answer and told me he would speak to someone in the company who probably did. Thinking it might be a question of semantics ( I don't know "mover-speak") I asked if I could send him the information I was referencing. He agreed to review the information, thanked me for it, and referred it to someone in the company who then called and answered my question to my satisfaction. I was impressed with his integrity in saying "I do not know" (a very difficult thing for any person to admit) and his willingness to spend time getting me the answer. Do I recommend considering this company when planning a move - Definitely

I was very impressed with the professionalism, oganization, and efficency of the crew. They came on Saturday to pack and then on Sunday to make the actual move. Everything was handled beautifully. I would highly recommend Palmieri Movers.

We couldn't have been more pleased with the service. The crew was professional and extremely careful with all of our belongings. It was a two day full house move. The final cost was actually less than the original estimate and they didn't try to charge us for any extras. I would highly recommend these movers

Everything was moved in good condition. Couldn't believe they got the job done in the four hours estimated, but they did! The only negative was that it was not clear that their original estimated price apparently already included the 5% Angie's List Discount for paying in cash. However, after contacting them, they sent me a refund for the discount.

Palmieri Movers does an excellent job. We have used professional movers once before when my wife's company paid for our previous move. Palmieri was excellent, doing a better job than the last company we used and probably for a much lower cost. We had two different leads for the two days (1 day to pack and 1 day to move). Both leaders were professional and helpful. Their teams were also all very professional and careful. I was impressed with their service and will use them again.

We used them to move our furniture , they showed up on time , were very courteous and did a fantastic job on time.

We thought it went well. Until we unpacked only to find several items missing. Not large items mind you rather the type that you could fit into a pocket. The kind that were located hidden in a hidden jewelry box. Irreplaceable. And when we contacted the office to discuss this they told us we were crazy and must have misplaced them because the crew who packed our house was led by a saint. And yes they used the word saint. I am a nurse-retired and my husband a retired cop. There is no such thing as a saint. We filed a report about our missing items and after several phone calls they FINALLY offered to file an insurance claim. Then we were told the owner would call us back. He never did. We finally were able to take inventory of what exactly was missing. Jewelery items totalled over $10,000! Irreplaceable family heirloom pieces. Needless to say we filed a police report and have learned that the owner has become uncooperative with the police investigation. Beware beware before hiring movers friends. I would watch every move that was made by each member of the crew all the time. I suppose because my husband was at work and I walk with a cane (and take care of my mother who has cancer) that we appeared non threatening. The experience was eye opening to say the least. Angie's List members: please note that a signed release form is not a free pass for anyone or anything!

They were very good with communication and managing our ever changing schedule.

Our move required three different crews, one tp pack, one to load in NJ and another to transport and unload in Virginia. Even though a poster bed was damaged, we could have been pleased if it were not for the fact that about a half dozen small valuable items never made it. These items were small enough to fit into a pocket. When I called the company, the fellow was quite responsive and said he would question the packing crew. He asked that I send a list of the items to him, which I did. I never heard from them again. Update: 12/11/2013 I have heard from Management and they have sent us a check for the missing items, which we greatly appreciate.

.Estimator came out to my 2 bedroom home. He carried an electronic device with him to write down what was needed to be moved. We started in the front living/dining room. I pointed out each item that was to be moved. We went into the kitchen, I pointed to each item, he acknowledged, looked at the front/back lawn furniture, the upstairs bedrooms, and the basement. i was given verbally a quote, followed up by a written guaranteed quote. After several days, he sent me an email lowering the total bill to $4,100. I emailed him back that it was a go. I looked at the list and found that he had written down only a fraction of the furniture! I wrote a list of every. item. we looked at and discussed. His uncle refused to honor the price, intimating that I had added furniture after the estimator submitted his report. Oh. My. God. I contacted the estimator both by phone and email. he was very kind, and said he stood by his estimate. The owner and the office staff, however, refused to budge. They ABSOLUTELY would not admit that their estimator had failed miserably to record the items to be moved - instead placing the blame on ME. The total cost of the move zoomed up by several thousand dollars. I don't care what their response will be in their defense. I work in Consumer Law, and moving is the number one complaint by consumers. This was a clasic bait and switch scenario, taking advantage of clients who are under time deadlines. UNETHICAL AND ILLEGAL. WATCH YOUR BUTTS IF YOU CHECK OUT THESE GUYS. Their glowing references on Angie's list don't mean a thing.

We hired them after finding them on Angie’s List. We chose them because they were family owned. We received one other quote and they came in less in cost. They did a very good with the move and only one item was lost. We really don’t know if the lost item was their fault, so can’t necessarily blame them for it. Everything went very well and we were happy with them.

I had used a different moving company to move my contents from my 3 bedroom house to the storage unit and ended up frustrated with the amount of time they took and the cost..... So I hired Palmieri Movers when it was time to move to the new house. Dominic and his crew showed up right on time, they were extremelly efficient and made the entire moving day very easy. They packed and unpacked the truck very quickly, while taking excellent care of all of the belongings, nothing was damaged during the move which unfortunately wasn't the case with the other moving company. What took the other guys almost 9 hours, Dominic and his crew did in 5 hours! If I had to move again, there is no question I would use them again.

They were very pleasant and kind gentlemen that moved the piano. Were concerned with taking there time with the piano and my furniture in the house!

These movers were outstanding! Although they showed up much earlier than expected, they were fast, professional, courteous and careful with my furniture. They wrapped the TV and sofa up in plastic and loaded everything into the truck in no time. They were friendly and worked well together as a team. They were A+ all around. I would definitely use them again.

Everything went so well, we were very impressed. Dom, Mike and Damon couldn't have been better. They cared for my things as if they were their own. Some of my furniture is very large with glass features, yet this was never a problem. They not only wrapped these in quilts, but numerous layers of shrink-wrap over that. At the arrival, they not only placed the pieces where we instructed, but asked us if we were happy with how things looked. A few times, they very obligingly, moved a sofa or curio to a 2nd spot in the room. My boxes were labeld with the rooms into which I wanted them, and every last one was placed directly there.They are very congenial, and made the day a pleasure, rather than the dreaded thing I feared. Will definately recommend them to anyone who mentions moving!

It went great. Truck arrived on time. Crew was respectful and careful with all items. Same on the delivery end. Price charged was what was estimated and lower than other quotes. Would definitely use them again.

Contracted them to move us. 2 day job. was supposed to be $200/day with extra $600 cost to bring pool table. He originally offered 10 garment boxes. We got 5. The details of cost were confirmed with an office worker the day after someone came to price job. It was estimated to be around 4000-4500. The day before the job, they claim they had no idea about any pool table, then after an argument with the appraiser, he claimed I was supposed to confirm. He also claimed that the job was priced at a fixed $5,000. That would make them the only company around that doesn't base their price on actual time. He was so disrespectful and unprofessional, we decided to scramble and in fact found someone else to do the job the day before.We gladly forfeited the $500 deposit. Anyone that professional to change price the day before can't be trusted to be in my house. Stay away.

As well as could be expected. i called on Friday, and they scheduled us in the very next morning (were even willing to do the job later that same afternoon). They arrived on time, moved everything quickly and without a scratch. They even disassembled the treadmill and put it back together for us in the basement. Then they moved our TV and another chair for us at the last minute. Really great service, would use them again. Jessie, who answered the phone, was very sweet and helpful.

They worked very hard. Mike, the foreman, was extremely helpful and has a great work ethic. He went above and beyond the call of duty.

Fantastic! The guys were professional, respectful and hard working. They took extreme care with all of our belongings as if they were their own. Would HIGHLY recommend this moving company! No matter what, moving stinks, but this company was the best part about it!

Both moving days went smoothly and all the guys were professional and friendly. Rob stayed in touch and on top of all aspects of both jobs. They showed up when they said they would and delivered ahead of schedule. I would definitely recommend Palmieri Movers. Great experience.
