Palmieri Movers

I cannot praise the Palmieri guys too much. We had Ozzie, John, and Brandon. Never met such hard working AND good natured men before and I have had experience with many other movers. This crew functioned like a team and worked for 12 hours straight to get the job done. Because it was an out /in they had pressure on both ends. At one point they had to meet a ridiculous deadline and they did, without complaining. If they hadn't been so hard working and professional the entire closing may not have happened. They squeezed all the furniture and contents into the truck; not sure how they did it. No damage, nothing lost, and they hung in there until our move was complete. I just cannot thank Palmieri enough and if you want a great move at a super price, call them. You will not be disappointed. Andrew Corcoran

Palmieri Movers sent a team of about seven people to pack up my house, which was completed on the day scheduled. The guys were friendly and efficient. Everything was carefully packed and labeled, and nothing was broken in transit. A team of about nine guys arrived to load the truck the next day. Carlos was in charge (again), and he did a great job throughout. A piece of glass covering a photograph that was in a storeroom was broken, and he immediately came and told me. It was so insignificant, we just threw it out. No big deal. Sometime during the move one of the walls in a hallway was damaged with a small "ding", and Vic sent someone right over to spackle it. I was not home, as I was closing the sale of the house, and this was already taken care of when I returned home. I was surprised and extremely pleased that he took care of it so quickly. The closing on our purchase was not completed as scheduled, and we were delayed moving in by a day. Vic was very understanding, and while we had to pay for time in the morning that the movers were basically sitting around waiting for us to give them the okay to move, he ultimately suggested that we reschedule for the next day and sent the guys home. Vic was exceptionally nice during a very stressful time. They were not at fault that we couldn't move as scheduled, and he was fair in the additional cost charged. Another team unloaded the trucks the next day, and they were excellent. Dom was in charge, and you couldn't have asked for a better leader and crew leader. They covered the beige carpeting on the main staircase utilized to get to the second floor, and spent a long hard day unloading two trucks and filling a 6,000 square foot house. The move included a baby grand piano, and it was evident that Dom has done this many times. The guys were super nice and I can't say enough about Palmieri. I'm glad I chose them for our move. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again, and I will definitely recommend them to anyone I know that's moving.

To begin with they came late, 10 o'clock instead of 8-8:30 the time they said the would come. They arrived with two vans. The first van was OK, however, they did not have the key to the lock for the second van and had to break it. While they were moving items from the house and yard, I noticed that a paver in the backyard was broken (fine before they arrived). They denied any knowledge of it. They were to move some items from our house in Middletown to a storeroom in Middletown, and the remainder of the items were to be moved to Barnegat. There were five movers (including the supervisor, Jon). Things seemed to be going OK until they arrived in Barnegat. At that time, I noticed that a suitcase filled with sweaters was missing as well as the glass top to a coffee table. Jon denied any knowledge of the suitcase. He checked with his men and told us that they had brought the glass top to the storeroom by mistake. Told me where to look for it. He suggested that the suitcase might have been left behind in Middletown, and I told him I would check it out the next day. I went to the storeroom and could not find the glass where they told me it would be. Could not check the rest of the storeroom because of the precarious way they stored the items. They had a heavy glass mirror, resting on some paintings, which were behind a wooden indian. There was no way I could check further. I went to the house, and did not find any suitcase. I called Palmieri movers and spoke with Jesse. I told her about the suitcase and the table top. I asked her to have one of her movers meet me at the storeroom to look for the missing items. At first she did not want to do so, said I would have to pay for their time. When I complained, she reluctantly agreed to send Jon back. Last Tuesday, we met Jon at the storage facility. He and his crew removed nearly everything. Could not find suitcase, nor mirror. He told me that he would have a new table top made and deliver it personally. I called Jesse and told her about the glass and asked her whether I would be reimbursed for the suitcase and contents. She told me she would have to check the paperwork (I took additional insurance as well). I did not hear back from her in over a week and called her today. She said that the glass top would be replaced, however the insurance would not cover the replacement cost of the contents of the suitcase because I had packed the suitcase myself. She indicated that was in the fine print of the contact. The price of the suitcase would be reimbursed. She said that the truck was checked the night of the move, and there was no suitcase or glass left behind. I pointed out that her men told me that the glass was in the storeroom (which it wasn't), it was not delivered here, nor was it left behind. Where did it go? Her answer was that it was going to be replaced. There were also some other problems I did not mention to Palmieri or make a big issue about: Bottom of desk was damaged during move. Right side of sofa feels broken does not have same support as before move. The reason I did not make a fuss, is that we will be getting rid of these items in eight monthsafter we move to our new home which is being built. Palmieri Movers advertising that they are the least expensive movers. Caution - you get what you pay for!

They were good, very professional, on time and courteous. They made sure that I was happy where everything was before I left and they were pretty accommodating. And then, there were some stuff in the wrong place and there was no problem with them moving it back around and stuff like that. I thought that their price was competitive and their responsiveness was also good.

The crew was pleasant, but things were not placed where they should have been, and messages weren't returned.

We purchased a new home and needed to have all the furniture and boxes that we had packed moved to the new location. I contacted Palmieri Movers. They came out and gave us an estimate. They made notes of everything we needed moved and put the information right in to the computer he carried with him. Before he left, he discussed the cost and process with me and emailed me the full estimate. I printed the estimate and acceptance form and mailed in the signed acceptance form with my deposit. They arrived on time and went right to work. They wrapped up everything in clear cellophane and loaded it carefully in to their truck. Many items were wrapped in heavy blankets and taped. There were 4 guys. They were all completely professional and polite. They wasted no time. After the truck was loaded, they drove it directly to our new residence 16 miles away. They unwrapped everything and put it right where we wanted it. They even moved one piece twice because I changed my mind. The final cost was exactly as quoted and not a single item was broken. The move was smooth, quick and we couldn't have asked for more. After years of horror stories about moving companies, we were amazed!

They were phenominal. I would highly recommend them. They were professional and helpful. They went to my dad's house and moved things to a garage and moved our mom's things upstairs and then moved our dad into that room. They helped us organize and get everything in and fitted well. They sent a crew of 5 and they did a great job. I just can't say enough great things about them. They were super!

We just used Palmieri for a local move in central New Jersey. This company was recommended by a friend. Mike and his crew showed up on time, were very professional and handled our furniture with great care. They require cash, bank check or money order as payment for the remaining balance after the job is done. This is okay as I understand they are a family based company that probably got screwed when people wrote personal checks that might have bounced or something. The final bill even came in under the estimated price, which was abosolutely great! I highly recommend Palmieri. Moving is a stressful time for everyone and is never an easy process. After doing my research, I concluded that even the elite moving companies have complaints and poor reviews listed about them. An item or two may get damaged. It's called moving. It happens. Expect it and accept it.

Poor customer service! We called to get a quote from Palmieri and the woman who answered the phone was terribly rude. She made it seem like she had no time or tolerance for our 3BR home move. Moving is an emotional, stressful process and they did not make it any better by any means. They have lost a customer and recommendation from me.

I had to move on a short notice near the end of the month when many movers were already booked. Since I was moving from Manhattan from the 19th floor there were restrictions by the Landlord on the day and the hour of the move - based on availability of the freight elevator. Palmieri was flexible and worked with me to determine the date/time of the move. On the day of the move I had reservation for the freight evelvator for one hour only, 8 AM - 9 AM. For various reasons, the crew showed up an hour late - 9 AM instead of 8 AM. This was not a good start as at that point another tenant had hold on the freight elevator. However, Palmieri crew made up for it - they worked around the elevator issue - made friends immediately with building security and used other elevators. They shrinkwrapped and padded every piece of furniture and were careful and overall they did a great job. We drove to NJ - they drove the van, I drove my car - and they unpacked the van again carefully and professionally.

The owner promptly came over to give us an estimate for the move & was spot on with the price. Three movers showed up at the agreed time & were neat, careful & an overall pleasure to deal with. When they got to our destination they were running a bit late so five other guys that had finished their moves early came over to get it done quickly. I think that says alot about a company that has such dedicated employees. We will definitely use them when we are ready & will highly recommend them to anyone & everyone!

Four strong young men and one truck arrived as promised promptly at 9:00 in the morning. They introduced themselves and walked around the rooms to assess the move. Of course I still had some packing yet to do, so while I did that, they began moving things. They were polite, professional and very careful with my belongings. There was no damage. Even though I had more boxes than estimated, I was reassured that all would fit in the truck. In fact, at the end we were able to put in dining room tables and chairs that they delivered to my daughter's garage (about 2 miles from my new apartment), which I had thought I would have to move later in a rental truck. The move to Piscataway was approximately 25 miles. The entire move was completed in 6 hours, with everything safely transported and placed in the first floor apartment or basement, where many of the boxes had to be stored. I had called 5 moving companies for estimates, 4 from Angie's List and one referred by a friend. One company from Angie's List said I was moving too far from their building where the trucks are housed. One I cancelled after deciding on Palmieri. The three estimates I received ranged in price from $1000 to $2900 (which included over $500 for containers). I bought my own boxes and other packing materials for less than $200. I did get wardrobes from Palmieri. The other two estimates were made through personal inspection of my home and items to be moved. No one came out from Palmieri as I was not close to their office in NJ. However, they were most responsive on the phone. They emailed a form to me which I completed and returned. There were follow-up phone calls, and staff was responsive to my concerns and questions. At one point Vic offered to come out to SI if necessary, but this was not needed. Incidentally, I also got the Angie's List and senior citizen discounts. I am very satisfied with this moving company and will definitely use their services again.

The movers arrived on time and began to move my belongings right away. Before I knew it the truck was packed and they were on the way to my new address. The move went very well and I was very pleased.

Due to job relocation, we used them twice last year. When we have to relocate for work this year, we didn't hesitate to call Palmieri movers again. The estimate submitted online was comparable with prior moves. We reserved the date and confirm the appointment with Ozzy the day before the move. We are glad we done that as we didn't realize they no longer receive personal checks, apparently due to people cheating them. We immediately went to the bank and withdrew cash right before closing. On the moving day, they left the depot by 7 am, but due to infamous LI traffic, they didn't get there until 11:30. Once they got there, Jimmy (second time we worked with him) quickly surveyed the amount of items to be moved and proceeded with wrapping the furniture. They uploaded everything in just under two hours. It took us 3 hours to get to the new home. Jimmy surveyed the place quickly and started unloading. They moved all furniture to the designated rooms with great care and patience. All and all, they did an excellent job without any damage/s to the old, new home, and the goods transported. Lee, L.R., Jimmy, and Ozzy treated us with great respect and services. If we ever have to move again, we will definitely use them again!

We had heard horror stories for years about how bad moving companies were. We were very hesitant to use one but we just did not have the energy to do it ourselves anymore so we hired Palmeiri Movers - twice! They were so careful with everything. All of our belongings were either wrapped or packed then handled with the utmost care. They worked quickly and carefully. Nothing was broken or damaged in either move. Both tmes, the entire crew was polite and mannerly. What a pleasant and professional company to do business with. They were punctual and their estimates were very accurate. I just loved these guys. Not only would we use them again in the future for anything we needed moved, we recommend them to everyone we talk to - seriously! Don't hesitate to use this company. You will not be disappointed.

Palmieri movers were awesome! I would definitely recommend them to anyone that is moving. The movers are professional and take great care of all items. We moved from a 1 bedroom apt. to a house. In addition we stopped by a second address to pick up large furniture and a baby grand piano. Mike and his guys were great! No problems they show up on time, professional, tactful, and are very fast!

I contacted Palmieri and told them my experience with another moving company in the area, whom I had move me from Flanders to a storage facility in Brick, NJ. I now was moving to my new home in Howell, NJ and needed them to come and move my stuff from the storage facility to Howell. They provided me a reasonable estimate and assurances that I would be taken care of. They were true to their word. The actual cost was less than the estimate. They came with five guys and two trucks. The move was quick, easy and efficient. They were extremely nice to me and asked me before they left if there was anything I needed from them.

I really wanted to use Palmieri. They had the best reviews on Angie's List. I contacted them a few weeks ago and asked them to come for an estimate. Since they can only do the weekdays I scheduled them for when I had a Friday off. They promised to reserve the date for me in the meantime which would be a week and a half later. I got a call an hour before my appointment saying the date was already booked. I was very upset because I am moving on the most popular day and was afraid I wouldn't be able to find anyone else. I had also really wanted to use their services. Robert called back 20 minutes later to say the date was fine. After he did a walk through I told him I would let him know the next day if we were using them. He assured me the spot would be open for me until Monday. I called him Saturday as promised to let him know I was using them. They informed me the date was no longer available. After explaining my disappointment they said they would fit me in but maybe in the afternoon. I said it wouldn't work. He called me a short while later to say they arranged to fit me in. I was so thankful. Afraid something would happen to my spot before I left a deposit I kept calling and emailing to pay. Never got a response. I finally called again today (Tuesday) to pay my deposit. They told me they were trying to fit me in but would have to rent another truck and it may be in the afternoon. That is ridiculous. I already told them that wouldn't work and they told me they would do the morning. I told them I would call them back. I called another mover and gave them my deposit on the spot. They were VERY EASY to deal with. I called Palmieri back to say forget it. ONLY THEN did they tell me okay, we can do the morning. I told them forget it. I can't believe after all the positive reviews I got the run around I did from them. Beyond frustrating to deal with. Moving is hard enough. I don't need their disorganization on top of all my other stress.

Jimmy, John and Joe were the best movers I have ever had. We move every three years so that's saying something. The were punctual and knew what they were doing. Everything was wrapped with care. I would highly recommend them to all who are looking for movers who care. Thanks guys

Palmieri Movers were great to work with from start to finish. Victor came to my home to give me an estimate and was very thorough in his explanation and review of information. Amanda who handled bookings was always available and lovely to work with. The move was scheduled for between 9-9:30am last Saturday. Dominick and his team came right on time and worked hard for 10 hours. All of the guys were friendly, courteous and respectful. They did a walk through of the house to see what we wanted moved, and they noted all of our special concerns, like being careful not to let the cats out of their room while the front door was open. They were even so nice to my 2 year old son who was a little worried about these movers taking all of the things out of our house! When we got to the new house, the guys brought everything in and placed all boxes and furniture in the correct rooms. They even placed the furniture just how I wanted it. They disassembled and reassembled several pieces of furniture that needed to come apart in order to move. None of our furniture was damaged, and none of our property was damaged. They padded the banisters and really made sure to take care with every little piece. Also, the quote provided was very accurate, so we knew what cost to expect. Overall, I would recommend Palmieri Movers to anyone without hesitation. Simply put, they worked like professionals, but felt more like some long lost cousins helping us out for the day.
