Frank showed up to the job the next day to inspect the front steps. He explained in great detail why the steps and landing had deteriorated. We both agreed that they could not be repaired and had to be rebuilt. He even suggested going form 3 steps to 2 steps because of the height. It turned out to be a great idea and we are happy with the new look. Frank also took the time to go around and to find the matching brick that we wanted to use on the interior of the step. Frank was clean, quick and thorough. He even took the time to let my 2 children make concrete hand prints which they love. He is even taking some extra steps after the job is done to ensure that other factors do not affect his work. Great job all around.

I had him do 2 minor repairs besides the main issue of looking at my chimney caps. He also sealed a crack going across the entire width of my driveway, and did notify me that the sealing would not be a permanent fix. Concerning the chimneys the work was a little touchy because I have a wood stove chimney and a whole house chimney which, according to my recent home inspection were both missing mortar caps. I asked him if he could take pictures before and after and he did so I could know exactly what he did. He was extremely pleasant about it and very nice. He was even running a little late and called me en route to notify me which was great.

First - I contacted several companies on Angies list with no response or returned calls. It seems no one wants to do small jobs. Another company came out but never followed up after I bought the stone for the job. Frank was the second to come out and the first to follow up on both his visit and call. I purchased stone based on the original contractors advice and when inspected by Frank he said it would not work on my porch. After using it for some garden walls, Frank was absolutely correct, it would not have worked on the porch as the stone does flake off. He knows his stone! The next step (stone selection) was based on what my wife wanted in both looks and color. This was addressed and selected perfectly by Frank at the stone yard. He also made a recommendation on the design which was a perfect for our porch. It is one year later (I like to wait and see how the job holds up based on past experiences) and His work was excellent and the porch is beautiful! It blends with the house perfectly, and was everything my wife wanted. A for knowledge, craftsmanship, prompt on time service and for both selecting and picking up the stone.

Frank and his workers were amazing. They were a pleasure to talk to about the job, quick and honest with their responses, and you can tell that Frank has done this for a long time. At no point did I feel that he was an absent owner who sent out workers. He started, stopped by throughout, and was here to finish the job. An owner who does a final inspection on work done like that is a rarity today, and I would without question recommend and use him again. As a bonus, one of his other jobs cancelled and he was able to call me at 8pm one night to ask if we wanted the job started 2 weeks early the following day. Being the summer with grilling season and a few upcoming parties at the house, it was a great bonus.

Provider did NOTHING. Spoke with him on the phone, asked him to come look at replacing a full sidewalk and give a me price, he never called back, never looked, never gave a price even after I made repeated phone calls leaving messages. And this guy has an "A" rating??? At least have the common decency or courage to say no.

He forgot to keep his appointment. When we called him afterwards, he rescheduled and then didn't keep the 2nd appointment.

He did a great job on the porch and left the area clean I would certainly use him again

Could not be more satisfied! Our crumbling front steps were rebuilt with brick that matches perfectly with brick on rest of house, brick steps replaced with limestone, and walkway is now wider with a new step that is trimmed in brick! You gotta love these guys.

Frank was excellent. His guys did a great job and were able to come last minute after another provider cancelled on me. He was done in 2 hours and I had planned on it being an all day event. I am very happy with the results and I would definitely use his services again.

Franks responded rapidly and completed job within 72 hours of discussions. Are preparing house for sale and he recognized need for quick repairs. Second time I have used him for masonry work. First time about $1000 for repairing front steps and side masonry along outside porch. Great job both times.

Frank Vocisano is wonderful price is pretty reasonable, he did what he said he's gonna do. No problem with whatsoever, he was wonderful, he did the work, he came in.

We called Frank to get an estimate and to meet him. He arrived within a few days. At our first meeting we told him we wanted to repair the bricks around the thirty year old front porch and he explained to do the job right we would need to replace the whole porch. He suggested that instead of bricks we edge the new porch with bluestone. He also said we should replace the broken sidewalk because the pitch of the sidewalk was wrong. We checked with our architect son and he agreed that the best repair would be to replace the entire porch and sidewalk as Frank suggested. Our son also loved the bluestone idea. Because we were pleased with the way Frank dealt with us we decided not to get a second estimate. At our first meeting Frank gave us an estimate on the back of his business card. His detailed estimate agreed with his original estimate and he kept to his initial estimate throughout the project. Approximately a week later Frank and his team showed up as scheduled and tore out the old porch and sidewalk. As they put in the new porch and sidewalk they were very particular about being sure that the slope was such that water would run off in the correct direction. They also suggested chipping of the edge of the bluestone which made it very attractive. Throughout the process Frank and his team maintained a neat job site and cleaned up well afterwards. Frank and his team completed the work in two days and already neighbors are looking for references.

Frank Vocisano is one of the most professional trades people of 50 or so that I have dealt with in the last 10 years. I am very detail-oriented and like perfection. Vocisano Masonry came close to perfection. We had relocated the range and hood exhaust in a kitchen remodel. The old exhaust vent left a 12" x 18" rectangular hole in the interior cider block and exterior orange-colored brick. I met Frank and expressed my desire to make the patch as unnoticable as possible from the outside since it was directly above an often-used patio. He gave me a more than fair price. Frank arrived the next day and did the work himself. He was able to match the 1952 brick exactly. He says it's not exact but I can't see a difference no matter how long I look at it. The hole was rectangular, and the quick way to patch it would be to cut bricks to fit the rectangular hole. However, Frank did it the right way. He chiselled out the old brick to match the interlocking pattern. The mortar is not an exact color match though - it is slightly lighter - but he says it will weather and becom very close. I'm sure it will. Standing on the patio today, you wouldn't notice there was a patch unless you looked for it. On the inside he cut a cinder block and did a fine job even though it will be hidden behind sheet rock. Since my college days, I have always liked the look of a plain brick wall. Many of the academic buidings at Rutgers were just brick - inside and out - with no artwork. It seemed a crime to put a light switch or drinking fountain in an otherwise unsobstruted brick surface. I like the brick wall on the sides of my back patio. Vocisano Masonry's craftsmanship keeps it that way.

Frank is a real personable contractor. I would completely 100% recommend him. His excavator PJ is also just as excellent as Frank. I actually found Frank in a newspaper Ad not on Angies list.

Frank showed up on time and did a great job. Best chimney on the block. Will be using him again when we do our front porch.

A friend recommended Frank. Frank was timely, corrected all of the issues and left no mess. He repoured concrete where needed. He was careful not to destroy my shrubs and lawn. His price was very reasonable given the issues. I am very pleased with the work and would recommend him highly to anyone

Mr. Vocisano did not seem interested in doing work with me. I would not call his manner disrespectful, but it bordered on it.

The crew showed up on schedule and began the old walkway demolition. They chose not use use heavy equipment as this would have messed up my lawn, instead they broke it up and removed it with sledgehammers and wheelbarrows. The next day they came with a load of stone and forms and leveled and formed the walkway. The next day they showed up with the bricks and had a concrete truck on site. They poured the footing for the bricks and set them in one day. They let the bricks set for a day then came back and covered the brick (to prevent damage) and poured the walkway. The job came out great and they finished it in less then a week. At the end of every day they thoroughly cleaned the jobsite including hosing down my driveway. The crew was always professional and respectful of my property. I am going to do a patio in my backyard and will definitely call them back.

I started looking for estimates for repair work to the exposed porch on my home in May 2010. I called at least six contractors for estimates. Some responded and some did not. I found Vocisano Masonry here on Angie's list. I called and spoke to Frank, and described the damage to my porch. This was on a Thursday. He said he would call me back either Monday or Tuesday to see if he can stop by to assess the damage and give me an estimate. Monday and Tuesday came and went and I called him back a few days later. There was no answer, but I left a voicemail to call my cell phone. I never heard back from him again.

He was good and I was very satisfied. The crew was good as well and the porch looked beautiful. I would use them in future.
