They completed the job in one day. They were neat and professional. They total price came right ion what they quoted. They did a very good job of cleaning up. They put tarps down to catch and debris that fell off the roof, and they covered the windows to make sure they would not get broke. They took care to make sure there was minimal damage to the house and landscaping.

I talked to a lot of roofers and a lot of them only had 3 or 4 employees and they said they would be done in a day or two. Double D showed up with 16 guys and they were done in a day and a half. Double D was working non stop from sun up to sun down and they got it done on time. They did a spectacular job. I am a pretty neat guy and I could not find a single piece of junk when they left. It was unbelievable. It was not cheap, but it was not much more than the rest of the estimates. It was worth every single penny.

First, it’s important to note that I usually HATE contractors. I think most of them are con artist jerks that care nothing about their work, so any good remarks from me are rare. Dennis is the exception to the norm in every way. I called four or five guys for roof estimates; Dennis returned my call right away. He made an appointment to meet me to discuss the job. He called to let me know he was on his way, and arrived exactly on time. Many others didn’t even offer a consultation, they just stuck a business card with a price in the mailbox and called that their “written estimate”. Dennis told me about my options: roof over, rip off, ice dams, etc, and he told me about the types of shingles and warranties. When he was done, he asked if I had any more questions, and then told me to give him a call if I wanted to hire him. No high pressure at all. Dennis was the only person to give me a good consultation, and fair price, and no sales pressure. My neighbor and I both hired him to do our roofs at the same time. My neighbor decided to roof over his existing shingles, I went for a full removal. Dennis cautioned me that frequently plywood under roofs will be rotten and that he might need to replace some of the plywood. He told me what it would cost if a sheet of plywood needed to be replaced well in advance so there would be no surprise charges. Fortunately, all my plywood was in good shape. Dennis gave me a start date. He called a day in advance to confirm. His crew showed up early and set up ground clothes to cover my landscape from falling shingles. The guys removed the old roof in no time, with no shingles or trash left anywhere. They installed the new roof with care and attention. It’s a few years now and I have had no problems. I’ve called Dennis to talk about a few other jobs, he always calls back, and gives an honest , up front answer. I strongly Recommend Dennis and Double D.

They replaced the shingles and wood as needed, they did a full clean up, and they were quick. For this price I also bought the 30yr. shingles.

Owner Dennis Darrow promptly sent a quote by email. Clear written explanation of warranty, better than with other contractors I contacted. Dennis was responsive, professional and pleasant with my questions on the phone. Matched price of lowest contractor bidding on the same job and materials quality. Was directly involved with handling one problem during installation that was addressed literally within 2 hours. Very pleased with the roofing shingle installation. I was kept informed about the start date and two 1 day delays in the start date due to rain. They came on time the morning of the job. I liked the care that was taken with my house during installation: -covering tarps used in different portions of my lawn -garage doors and ground floor windows were all covered/protected with plywood sheets) -thorough clean up. Double D Construction also has good ratings on the web site of GAF, a major national roofing shingle manufacturer. I used Double D for a small job in 1998, this big job in 2011, and I would use them again. Note: Their phone number is incorrect as of 5/11/11 in Angieslist listing. Correct number is 732-981-0800.

Dennis was one of the few contractors who answered my call. Very polite and professional (easy to talk to). The next day, he provided an estimate ($5,700) for tear-off and replacement (approx. 10 squares). The price was very good, and Dennis seemed very easy to work with. It did take about 2 months before they could do the job, but they told me that up-front. Dennis indicated that if there were spots that were in need of immediate repair, he'd get that done right away. On the day of the job, his crew (of 11) arrived early (7:30 am), and were done by 2:30 pm that same day. They stood-up sheets of plywood to protect the house, and laid-down sheets of vinyl (or plastic) to protect shrubs and lawn, etc. They cleaned-up everything, and the price was exactly as estimated.

They were excellent. They came and gave an estimate. The work went smoothly and they were done in a day. They protected the shrubs around the house. They knew what they had to do and they did it well.

Crews arrived on-time when scheduled, went right to work. Answered my questions, asked to use some plastic I had on the roof before assuming it was trash. They had a large crew: 4 men plus a supervisor who went for materials after checking in with me. They were done cleaned up and finished in about 3-4 hours. Left extra material for me to use to repair if ever necessary.

One word to describe it EXCELLENT. My elderly parents occupy the house. Double D construction sent the entire crew of 20 people and 2 foreman. The job was completed in one day as promised. This is the 3rd roofing job I have granted to Double D construction. Denis Darrow was nice enough to send his crew all the way to Danbury, CT to do my house. I highly recommend him. His price was better than any local contractor and he was the only contractor that promised to complete the job on the same day.

SOMEONE ELSE RECOMMENDED THEM TO ME AND I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE ELSE. THEY SHOWED UP ON TIME. THEY CHARGED EXACTLY WHAT THEY SAID IT WAS GOING TO COST. THEY LEFT RIGHT ON TIME. THEY DID EXACTLY WHAT THEY SAID THEY WERE GOING TO DO. I WILL USE THEM AGAIN.
