J Battles Heating & Refrigeration Appliance Repair

I called this company to check out a refrigerator in one of our rental properties. I don’t like my tenants to wait so I wanted someone to come out fairly quickly and I will say they were able to come out within a day so that was good. I asked the repairman to check it out to see if it’s worth fixing or if I should just purchase a new one. He charged me almost $300 and said there was a pinhole leak in the hose, which he in turn repaired. Job done. That was until 6 weeks later when it stopped working again. I called the company to see if the guy could come out to see what was going on being that he said he’d fixed it. The tenants were understandably frustrated. I never got a return call from the company yet the same gentleman randomly showed up at the house 2 days later when my tenants were getting ready to walk out the door to head to work. He looked at it said it was broken and left. After I spoke with my tenant, he informed me that at the initial appointment the repairman told him that the refrigerator was broken and would never last. So he basically just “rigged” it to get $300 out of me knowing I needed to purchase a new fridge anyway. So that was $300 out the window. Avoid this company at all costs!

They did a great job on the installation of the 2 ceiling lights, and a few months before that, they also install our doorbell and installed a new holder for the electrical cables from the outside into the house, and they did very well on that as well.

First, they are not insured! They destroyed my hardwood floors when they came to give me an estimate to fix the washer by dragging the stacked dryer across the floor without anything protecting it. They said they had no insurance to cover the damage. Also, he quoted me $300 for service, $500 for the part. It cost me less than $400 when I finally had it fixed. They are not a legit business.

They discovered it was just a socket problem and they replaced it. They are excellent! They got everything done when they said they would. It was a great price and we are completely satisfied.

Kevin was great. He called around and found the part and ordered it; the supplier said it probably would be in the next day (this was just before New Years weekend). Kevin said he would stay on top of it and be back at my house the next day. He followed up as promised, got the part and was back late Friday afternoon. In about twenty minutes he had me up and running. Except for J. Battle I am sure I would have been without a refrigerator for the whole holiday weekend. I thought his price was very reasonable. I will be calling J. Battle again whenever I need any appliance repair.

They did a good job. He is very nice and good at what he does.
