We had foundation and drainage problems. Ben came for an estimate. He explained the problems and how he will repair it. The cost was reasonable considering the work involved. They have very hard working employees who did a great job. The entire job took 2 days, when the work was completed everything was cleaned up and it looks great. I now have peace of mind knowing that the foundation was repaired correctly. I would definitely hire Grano & Sons again for any masonary work needed. Thanks again to Ben, Gene and the entire crew!

We have used this company for several projects over roughly the past decade. Whenever we have a masonry, landscaping, or basement waterproofing need, they are the obvious choice. Our first project was the replacement of our front steps. When Ben came out for the estimate, I appreciated his wealth of knowledge, his thoroughness, and his honesty. Ben takes the time to listen to your needs and preferences and discuss in easy to understand detail the options, his recommendations, and the agreed upon plan. Also worthy of note is that, unlike some members of his profession, Ben has always accorded me the same respect that he shows to my husband and communicates with me on an equal level. Rosemary in the office keeps everything running smoothly and juggles scheduling admirably with a kind a friendly demeanor. Gene and the crew do excellent work, make sure to clean up after themselves when the job is finished, and check in to answer questions and give any care instructions necessary before they leave. The Granos may not be the absolute cheapest option out there, but they provide lasting quality and stand by their work and their contracts. They are also considerate of your budget and have always worked with us to establish the best balance possible. We truly value the professional relationship that has grown into a friendship that we have established with Mario Grano and Sons and look forward to more projects in the future.

Ben Grano is probably the most thorough person that I have ever worked with on anything. He was responsive and always answered any questions that I had. Mike, his foreman on-site, always answered my on-the-spot questions and explained to me how things were being done. I will be hiring them for other small and large projects in the future. The crew was knowledgeable, polite, and always cleaned up... unbelievably causing a minimal disturbance in spite of how large the project was. Additionally, Ben always looked to give me good prices, even on expensive work. You won't be disappointed.

Grano and team are very professional. They came in and were able to replace my house support beam safely and securely. It was a complicated situation given how close my HVAC and electrical system was, but they navigated it seamlessly.

Ben and Gene, who are the owners were fantastic! They both been in the business since they were young and have lots of experience. Both of them went beyond my expectations. Mike, who headed the job was also great. All three of them explained each part of the job, and ensured I was happy with all the work completed. I had two sump pumps put in, drains, and foundation work done. They used a diamond cut saw to make a clean cut to install the drains unlike many other companies that just sledgehammer the concrete. Ben helped me tremendously when his crew recognized my sewer pipe was cracked. This kind of work is far from a clean job, but Mario and Sons ensured everything was cleaned up after each day. This company takes pride in their work and wants to make sure they do a superb job! I would use them again, but they are best waterproof company out there.

Outstanding, reliable and reasonable

Outstanding. High quality work. Top notch masons. The crew was always on time and worked past 5:00 pm, light allowing, even showing up on Saturdays. They also cleaned up everything at the end of each day and when the job was completed, even seeded the bare spots on the lawn and restored the small stones we had around the shrubs. They had to initially remove the current porch that had been built incorrectly. Even though it turned out to be more difficult than originally thought, Grano's crew did what had to be done and it not only looks great but is SOLID. We needed the best for this job and that's what they are - the best!

This was the second time we contracted with Grano & Sons (had a new driveway put in). Again the project far exceeded our expectations. The work crew is experienced, skilled, professional, patient & respectful of our property. The Company is a pleasure to work with, considerate, understanding & responsive to the clients needs and limitations. It was an enjoyable experience all around. Maybe the best compliment I can pay Mario Grano & Sons on the new concrete backyard they did for me is that I’ve been using the backyard so much, the past month I didn’t have time to write this compliment. Look, I often read reviews on sites like this and wonder why someone takes the time. Now I know the answer: when a company does good work, you want to let other people know. Ben and Gene – and all their crew – are consummate professionals. Everything I talked about with them is everything that happened. No surprises, upsells or unforeseen problems. ****, when I first met with Ben 18 months before the project started, a couple of times I suggested doing something more expensive. He immediately waved me off. “Spend your money on better furniture you’re gonna enjoy out here,” he said. “Trust me.” Trust me? Coming from a contractor? Alarm bells went off, but a moment later, it hit me. A contractor suggested shaving $3,000 off his own invoice because he was thinking ahead for me, the customer. I made up my mind that night that I’d found my contractor. My project was new Belgian block, drainage and a massive concrete pad (complete with a BBQ bump-out, another Ben suggestion I’ve quickly grown to love as much as the meat I grill there). When the construction work began, I knew I picked the right firm. Fast, efficient crew members showed up everyday. They worked quiet (as they could). They let my 5-year-old son enjoy the show. And when I had question, everyone from the foreman to Ben to Gene took the time to talk me through any little concern I had. When I wasn’t sure what I wanted, they used their experience to guide me. When I knew what I wanted, but didn’t know how to explain it, they used their professionalism to explain my own idea back to me. The project these guys did for me was the first major home repair I’d ever paid for. It’s the biggest check I’ve ever written after the down payment on the very same home. It’s a testament to Mario Grano & Sons that I feel like I got every penny’s worth. Just wish I had more money to pay them for another project ;)

Mario Grano & Sons recently completed major work at my house in February, 2020. If you’re looking for honest and professional company, Ben, Gene and their employees are the ones you should call, as it was the best decision I made. If I didn’t call them, I don’t know what would have happened to me and my house. Everyday the guys showed up on time, they were professional, polite, kept me informed of what they were doing, answer all my questions and cleaned up before they left for the night. When the job was done, Ben and Gene went over everything to make sure it was working correctly, showed me what I needed to do and to make sure I understood everything. As a long-time, senior Woodbridge resident, I finally was faced with the very real decision of either moving or fixing my house. Once this commitment was made, I needed to select a professional construction team who would recognize, evaluate, execute, and care enough about my individual concerns. I highly recommend Ben & Gene Grano of Mario Grano and Sons who did a comprehensive job incorporating all of the above aspects, after listening to all my water and structural issues. In my cellar they put a French drain, support columns, and reinforced the basement foundation. Then this hard-working, efficient team had to do re-construction and reinforcement beneath and around the front porch. This extensive work was done with the utmost care, clean-up, and consideration in general and specifically in providing me careful and thoughtful access in and out of my home. Mario Grano and Sons completed the job extending my front steps and platform and also creating a unique, custom-designed landscape. Their work is of the highest quality in addition to the personal service rendered throughout and after the work was completed. I also have to add that everyone single person that comprises the work crew of Mario Grano and Sons are absolute professionals, from their worth ethic and quality of work to their courteous manner. Extremely well - completed on time and with honesty and integrity. As work progressed, some plans required modifications per mutual agreement. Work was professional, and workers always diligent and courteous.

Ben, Gene and all their workers did a fabulous job transforming our front yard! We had a new concrete driveway and paver walkway poured. They were all very professional, friendly, respectful and hard-working! They were a little more expensive then some other estimates, but as the saying goes... You get what you pay for!! They have great ideas and work with you to get the beautiful yard you’re hoping for. People actually stop and tell us how wonderful our driveway & walkway look! We are so happy with the quality of work... they treat you, your property and the work being done like it’s their own house! We just called them again to do our landscaping! Ben Grano, his brother, and their employees are absolutely the BEST. We received the best care with everyone. They were receptive to what we wanted, extremely digilent throughout the whole process, and so helpful in explaining how they were fixing our foundation on the side of our house. Some words that come to mind when I think about these guys: Superb, outstanding, reliable, reasonable, down to earth, trustworthy, and family.
