Porter's Cleaning Service LLC

Initially it seemed ok. The clean out people were pleasant and careful. However, they never came on a set schedule. On days and time I expected them, sometimes they didn't show up till 2 pm and only stayed about 1 1/2 hr or 2 hr. It went on forever. Professionally they did not keep a "clean or sanitary corridor " when they took the stuff out of my house. I was told that they could save the drop ceiling and all the heating unit covers which, both were in excellent condition. The major trouble began after the clean out. The contractor who came with the sheet rocker, electrician and plumber didn't give a d*** about what was supposed to be done or how it was to be done. Here are some examples: 1. They cut and bent the ceiling grids in so many places they all had to be replaced. They ruined almost all of the ceiling panels, so, they too, had to be replaced. 2. They dented and messed up the heating units on 3 out of 5 of them. 3. The contractor stepped all over the furniture that survived the mold and left his shoe prints on everything. I guess he was too lazy to get a ladder or ask me for a step stool. 4. The contractor did not cover the doorway where the saved things were stored, and as a result, I have layers upon layers of sheet rock dust on Everything !! 5. The plumber left copper pipes hanging in mid air. 6. The electrician routed wires in front of finished sheet rock walls, so you can see them hanging down with no way to conceal them. He also "stuffed" switches into and around beams in the ceiling. 7. Two of the sheet rocked walls were built back on a diagonal, so I had to have them redone. There were 3 horizontal ceiling soffits and 1 vertical soffit that needed to be done b/c they left without completing the job. ALL of the door openings to the closets were not constructed with standard openings so each doorway needed to be rebuilt so a standard door would fit. When we went to turn on the water to our sprinkler system, we discovered that all of the gauges, meters and knobs had been sheet rocked over. We spoke to Joe Porter early in the day, it was a Saturday, and neither of us were able to reach to contractor until around 5-6 pm. The guy showed up later that evening and proceeded to open the wall with his fist (and a large wrench) and a to expose the valves. He had to do the same for the electric meter in another closet !!! Then, he told me how I should be grateful to him for coming out on a Sat. to do this for us !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And, he should be charging us !!!!!!!!! 8. When Porter's guys brought new studs into the basement since the code had changed since our basement was constructed years ago, they laid them down on my shrubs and pachysandra plants and killed everything in the path including a 35 year old rhododendrom. 9. The framing around the windows was done in a shabby way, where, even I could see that it wasn't constructed properly. For the last year I have been involved in correcting the mess they left me. The time and effort I have had to allocate to this project has been enormous. I paid them way too much and got mostly mistakes and frustration. Every licensed person who has come into my house to finish the job that Porters started has had multiple issues with the work they did. And as a result, I have paid dearly, with time, energy, and money. I have pictures to document many of the issues I have shared. It was shortly after the #7 incident I had had enough and stopped scheduling them due to the fact I was planning a wedding. Realizing what I had experienced with the erratic schedule, poor build back construction, and high prices of Porter's company, I did not choose to have them back in my house.

Workers & owner came when they said they would to do work or speak to me. They completed the job in the time quoted. They did all work as specified.
