From initial contact, to completion, great all around. Sales rep showed up on time and waited patiently while I needed to take care of my 3 year old. They were able to provide a quote later that day, and the price was less than 4 other places including Home Depot. I usually don't like going with the lowest price, because of the you get what you pay for saying, but in this case with so many positive reviews on Angie's list I decided to stick with them. The sales rep was able to answer all of my questions along the way, and was very helpful. They called to confirm the appointment the day before, said they would be there 9:30 in the morning. Workers showed up an hour early and started getting to work right away. Finished by 4p with everything cleaned up. Fence looks great the kid and dog, most importantly wife love it.

Short said: it could not have been better! I had to organize the replacement of an old and installing of a new fence from abroad, which in itself is already challenging. I had other contractors who, after hearing they had to deal with other people to get to do my business, did not even respond anymore. Jan Fence Inc did everything to make life easy for me. The communication was great, reasonable suggestions for the material were made, they took the look from the neighbors into account so mine would not totally stand out in the area. I could reach them when I needed to and got all questions answered. The timing of the installation had to be coordinated with the tank removal in my yard and everything had to be done in a short time frame. The people in the office worked with me to schedule everything to make the closing of my house sale possible in the set time frame. The installation was done even though the poor men had to,work in the rain! They left everything very tidy. I would definitely recommend them! Thank you very much Jan Fence Inc!

Every one from office,sales and crew who installed the fence were very professional polite,on time.I would highly recommend them and use them again if I need to.I was expecting to come home to a mess and everything had been left cleaned up. We had received a few prices for this project and they were very competitive and also gave price on the spot others had to get back to us.

It was good, they had an error but they fixed it for us. We have already recommended them to our friends.

We wanted to go to Jan Fence on January 17. We called first to make sure they were open. The answering machine said to check hours online. The hours online said they were open on Rt.23 so we went. After driving there we found they were redoing that location BUT the sign on the door said to go to 4 Industrial Rd. (would have been nice to have that on the web or voicemail). So we drove to 4 Industrial Rd which was also closed. If you have an answering machine and website, the least they can do is make them correct.

It was terrific! I would use them again.

Overall I am extremely pleased with the service and end product. The salesperson came out to the house initially to provide an estimate and then came back to confirm the estimate when our survey was updated. They were very competitive on pricing. The product was in within the estimated timing. The installer was awesome! Out property is difficult in spots and he just said "no problem" and took care of whatever was necessary. Very professional service and a great end product!

From the Sales representative to the guys that did the instalation everybody was exceptional and worked with high professionalism. I definitely would call them again

I am a first time homeowner and although I wanted nothing but a house with a fence, I ended up buying one with no fence! It was a priority to get one ASAP. First I interviewed a contractor who quoted me an outrageous price, then I found Jan Fence on Angie's List. The salesman who came out, Al, could not have been nicer and was very patient explaining things to me. I have a quirky yard with a retaining wall, several large trees right along my property line, and a stone wall. Al sent me quotes with every configuration of materials, since price was a factor for me. He even came back a second time to make sure I understood what the plans were so I would be happy. I have a dog and my main concern was making sure there were zero escape routes. It took a few weeks to schedule the work, but the guys showed up on time and worked non stop from 8am-7pm installing my fence. They did not speak English really, but one of the guys periodically came to the door to get me to make sure I understood he was putting a post where it had to go b/c of tree roots, etc. They seemed very concerned I was onboard with everything they did. And if I understood him correctly, he made sure to tell me to wait a few weeks to let the wood dry out before I seal it, etc. They were so nice. I will follow up with the salesman to make sure I understood correctly about the staining/sealing. I love my new fence and had a great experience with Jan Fence!

really nice 'design consultant' came out first. I told him I wanted to get job done asap. Told me it was a 1-2 week lead time for scheduling, etc. I filled out all forms and provided cc info (which they charged deposit immediately), and they didnt call me...for like a week. I call design consultant, he says once all paperwork is in, I will be called to schedule date. Oddly, I get form IN MAIL to fill out & return. I was peeved design consultant didnt include it, but whatever. I email it to the consultant, and I wait to schedule appt. Again no one calls mefor another week, so I call main number to set up install.The lady tells me earliest date is 3 weeks away. So I wait. Install guys were very nice. Communication was kinda lame, in my opinion, from beginning to end.

I contacted Jan Fence to request the installation of a new mailbox post. The price they quoted was more than twice that quoted by another company, the one I ultimately used. They also said that they would not be able to perform the installation for at least 3 weeks.

Although it was a bit difficult to measure due to the snow, Jan Fence was able to email me with an estimate within a day of coming out. Their price was competitive but we did not use them, only b/c we already gave a deposit w/ another company and once the snow melted, the other company provided the promised service. We do have another section of fence that needs to be replace and will gladly contact Jan Fence again.

Jan's Fence was a pleasure to deal with. They arrived at all appointments on time and if running a little behind schedule called to let us know. They worked diligently to have our old fence removed and the new one installed in one day. The guys worked tirelessly and did an amazing job. They left our property neat and clean as promised. The fence looks great and Jan lived up to our expectations and their word.

We narrowed our research to three fencing companies and had their salesmen come to our home. When Bob from Jan Fence came, we liked him immediately. He listened to our concerns and was very patient with us, even coming back a second time when we changed our minds and chose a different fence. The fence was installed on the date that was promised. My installers were Maurice, Jose, and Carlos. They arrived at the scheduled time, and we discussed the fence installation. They did a beautiful job--perfect and left the property clean and neat. We had concrete to be drilled into, two trees with roots and an incline and decline. Yet, the fence is installed straight and beautifully. We love it. Thank you Jan Fence.

Jan Fence came out quickly to give their estimate and proposal, but then it took a few phone calls before I could coordinate with the representative in order to finalize the deal and schedule the installation. Once I was able to speak to the representative, he was responsive to getting us on the schedule quickly. The installation crew arrived at the appointed time to commence installation of the fence, and spent most of the day putting it up. They did a great job of leveling the gates, since our property has a slope on one side. The fence looks great and there have been no problems or issues. Jan Fence was not the least expensive provider, but the service and product quality were excellent for the price.

I had a great experience with Jan Fence and wouldn't hesitate to use them again. The salesperson, Bob, was top notch. He spent quite a while going over everything with me. I originally ordered chain link and the day before it was going to be attached to the split rail I was conflicted about whether I made the right choice. Bob immediately brought over samples of the different wires and attached them to my fence so that I could see for myself. I changed my order based on what I saw and it was done smoothly, without a problem or delay. The welded wire was still installed the next day and my order was adjusted accurately and seemlessly. The installer, Giovanni, was also a pleasure. He was very hard working, timely, and understand what it was that I wanted. About a week after the fence was installed, neither of the gates would open. I contacted Bob and even though it was right after a snowstorm, Jan Fence came back and corrected the issue immediately. The person who fixes any issues was also excellent (don't remember his name). The fence looks great and the gates work perfectly now. I don't blame Jan Fence for swelling or settling of the gates upon install -- just how they remedied it -- which was without an issue. Jan Fence is a quality company!

Had issues with digging out some of the posts due to rocks etc. returned promptly the next day to finish the job. Very professional and very good service. Would definitely use them again

Initial consultation, timing and quality were all good. Minor complaint in that when we had some questions during the installation, none of the workers spoke English. We had to call the office and wait for a callback. In the end, all was good. We are happy with the fence and would use them again.

Jan Fence Inc was good. It took a while because of the problems they had, but other than that they did pretty well. The workers were excellent. They had a delay in their scheduling because they didn't have a scheduler at the time, so it took about two months to get out here. I would definitely use them again in the future.

I just felt most comfortable with the salesperson of Jan Fence. I actually have three people come out for pricing but I think the pricing was all very similar probably they were a little bit better but it was really negligible difference in the pricing. I just felt very comfortable with person and I like 100% of their product and the services and so I went with them and I would give them more like 100%. I go over their showroom because that’s pretty close like we get the product. They are not pushy to purchase one right away. They are very knowledgeable about the specific fence we are want.

This company was great! I had called the company who had installed the old fence first and they would not honor an online coupon. I called Jan fence and a very professional estimator came out and actually pointed out to us that the prior fence company did not do many things to code! We received the Angie's discount at the time and the fence installed is beautiful. The installation was flawless and the installers were great. We are very happy with both the quality of the installation, the product and the process. Would use them again in a heartbeat!

I had a positive experience with them. They were on the higher end but they were a quality company. I like their craftsmanship. They're very busy so it's difficult to book the time. But for the most part, I think that was far for the course.

My son crashed his car through a fence on the Rutgers campus in Newark. The school was going to charge me a lot of money to fix the fence. I asked them if I could get my own repair work done, and they said OK but if it didn't pass muster I would have to pay twice. I contacted Jan Fence and put them in touch with my son, who directed them to the accident site. Jan Fence inspected the damage, gave me an estimate, coordinated with Rutgers and got the job done with no hassle. I only ever had to deal with them over the phone. Rutgers signed off on the job with no problem, and I saved a lot of money. Very happy with this provider.

I wish all service providers are as professional as Jan Fence. From providing an estimate to project completion, the entire experience was great. I first had Jan Fence come out to Bronxville to provide an estimate in July. I also received quotes from two other fence companies in the area. Rob Schweitzer from Jan Fence was punctual, informative, provided sound recommendations, and turned around the estimate the same day as promised. Their quote also turned out to be the most reasonable among the three that I received. The other two companies were less punctual for their appointment, took longer to turn around the estimate, and were more expensive. In October, I was getting close to having the fence installed, so I asked Jan Fence to come back to address some of my questions and refine the quote. Again, Rob was punctual, professional, and informative. The fence installation in Nov was done very well. They effectively problem solved during the installation to compensate for some unevenness and rock formations in the ground. After the installation, the office called the next day to make sure that we were satisfied with the work before they processed the balance of our payment. When I inspected the work, I noticed that they did not spray paint a small spot on the chain linked fence gate. The office said that if it's not urgent, they would have someone fix it when they are next in the area. I figured that they wouldn't follow up on this minor item but I was so pleasantly surprised when I looked a few weeks later that they had indeed addressed it. I cannot recommend Jan Fence enough for any fencing project.

They were fine. They were good. They came a week early because they had an opening and they called so that was good. When we got their services planned, they guys came out pretty quickly to do the estimate and they even got the fence done before it was scheduled to be done, by 2 weeks before which was good. They were pleasant, nice, and friendly. The price wasn't cheaper but it wasn't bad either.
