Removed old fence; installed new fence.

It looks very good and I think they did quality work. I will know more once the winter ends and we spend time in the pool area. However, my overall experience was quite good with Jan Fence. My agent was Brian who came to my house a few times to work out the plans for this installation. He was very considerate in answering all kinds of questions from me - I had never had any work done like this before. He also helped me by filling out the town permit forms which can be very tedious for homeowners unless you do them all the time. On the day of the installation, I planned to stay home, and a crew of three came right on time. I told them about my concerns about underground water pipes and electrical wires, that can be damaged as they dig into the ground for their installation work. I had actually requested them to alert me when they spot these underground conduits, so I can mark their locations for my future reference. They actually found one water pipe and one wire during their digging. (I was slightly disappointed that they did not alert me upon finding these, like I had requested.) Fortunately, I came out frequently and peeked into each one of the holes they had dug up and spotted these myself & take pictures for future reference. However, I was extremely impressed & thankful about how carefully they were digging to avoid damaging these hidden things. Once we open up the pool next spring, then I will know for sure about the wires being intact and all. Overall, they finished the work very nicely, within one day and cleaned up very well after the job. They seemed to know what they were doing, were extremely professional and well-spoken. I would recommend this company to others, and will use them again with my next fence projects too.

I originally had them build a fence along the side of my house. For the most part I was satisfied with the price and workmanship. But, their salesman was difficult to work with. He was not responsive, and I had problems with the dates for the work and with some of the details of the work. The big problem came when I called a few years later to have the fence extended. The same salesman misrepresented the fence they supplied. It was supposed to be the same as the original fence and it was not. The problem was resolved, but it took a lot of calls. The final result was okay, but the amount of aggravation involved was not. I had a much larger fence put around my new house, and I never even asked them to bid on the project.

The installation team went right to work installing the fence and gates where I wanted them. Cleaned up when finished and did a very good job.

We had a positive experience from start to finnish. We first went to the Jan fencing show room and spoke to the salesperson to decide what fence we wanted. He was very knowledgeable and helpful, even with my two small children running around the store like wilderbeasts. He scheduled an estimate for us the following week. The estimator was punctual, professional and helpful. We received three more quotes and decided to go with Jan fencing due to their size, professionalism, and commitment to quality product. When my husband signed the contract he was told that the fence would be installed on 11/11/13. My husband called to confirm the Saturday before and was told that the fencing had not comein yet. My husband explained to them that due to previous commitments the fence must be installed prior to Monday 11/18/13. We were assured that the fencing would be in on Friday and they would work all weekend if needed to install the fence. We were told that the crew would be there between 8:30 and 10:00 am on Saturday 11/16/13. They arrived at 8:15 am, and the crew consisted of four men, led by Santiago. I cannot say enough about Santiago and the crew. They worked tirelessly, were so diligent, repectful, professional and communicated with us every step of the way to make sure that all our wishes and concerns were addressed. I felt that they were treating this fence as if it was their own. When they were finished, the fence was beyond anything I could have hoped for. They then went over maintence with us, tried out the keys to the doors and answered all of our questions. I would highly recommend this fencing company to anyone.

They were easy to work with. We had no problems. They cleaned up after themselves.

It was fine. I've used them years ago. I think the office staff that answered the phone were very helpful, answered a lot of questions, you know? Very professional, they arrived on time and did what they said they were going to do. I had no complaints at all with their service.

The salesman, Rob was very professional however, the company was very disorganized and hard to work with. The installers did a poor job installing the fence which resulted in the fence falling/breaking in an area 4 days after installation and two instances of a pair of deer getting trapped in our backyard trying to smash their way out! When we called the company to come out to repair the damaged area, they sent a "representative", Walter, who was rude and condescending. He was suppose to tell the salesman to call me when he returned from his vacation to follow-up. In the meantime, he would put me in the cue for repair. Two weeks later, I still hadn't heard anything from the company as to when my repairs would be done, so I called the salesman. When I spoke to him, he had heard nothing of the matter and came out immediately to resolved the situation. He scheduled the repair for that week. The fence looks like crap, but thank goodness it's only temporary. If it wasn't for the salesman, I would have disputed the entire job and demanded my money back!

I called to get an estimate to get my dog run fixed, but I ended up replacing the whole fence and adding more because it was more affordable than we thought it would be. We have a large yard with a slope in a very rocky area, so I was a little nervous that it wouldn't be able to get installed the way I had imagined it. The estimator came out about 6 weeks ago to give an estimate and it was installed within 3 weeks of me deciding to go with Jan Fence. The estimator was excellent with my needs an expectations an he really went above and beyond to make sure everything went well and he was very responsive with e-mailing me back with answers to my questions. The installers were on time and very neat and professional. They took their time and worked until it was almost dark to make sure my fence was installed for a party the following week. The gate looks great and the hand painted mailbox i picked out (I had a coupon for a free one from the local paper) is very cute and makes my whole yard look more like a home rather than just another house on the street. I love the fence, gate and mailbox and i will definitely recommend them to anyone and everyone I know. The dog loves it, too, since now he can't see what's on the other side of the fence to bark at it!!

Contacted Jan Fence to install a mailbox I purchased. I contacted them before I purchased my new mailbox and was told they would install a mailbox I provide in a previous conversation. The details of work they perform on the Angie's List description says mailbox post installation. I contacted them today to set up a date to have a post installed and was told that if I didn't buy the mailbox from them they would not install it..... Very unprofessional.

Everything went well in my dealings with Jan Fence initially. Anthony and another Jan Fence employee came out and took measurements of my property, and emailed me a written estimate within days. After I asked them if they knew what the zoning laws for fences were in my town, they told me to go check the township myself. I was also told to get a fence permit (not needed in my town) and a copy of my surveyor's report. It took a few weeks to pull that together, but once in hand I scanned and emailed all the info to Anthony. Days went by without a response. I asked for a status and Anthony emailed back to let me know he would review the documents that night and would email me back the next day. That was on July 22nd. After a couple more emails from me asking for a status I heard nothing. What's funny is that when they came to do the estimate, they made a huge point of saying how highly their company is rated on this website, and how important customer service is to them. Don't believe the hype!

We are actually going to go with them. They were very helpful about everything and were the second ones who came to give us an estimate. My wife suggested to him what the previous people had mentioned and he was totally open to it and very responsive to it.

We really lucked out with Jan Fence. We received an estimate that was quite comparable to others we had looked at, but they really seemed to know their stuff. It took a while (approx 3 - 4 weeks) to actually get something on the calendar (apparently, it was their busy season), but we went with it. We finally received a call from Jan Fence to schedule the install... and 3 days later, they were at the house. Their crew arrived on time and they were extremely professional and very pleasant to work with. They completed the job in one day and went above and beyond to ensure that our plantings and shrubs were kept safe. They even dug up and replanted a hydrangea for us! Overall, an excellent experience with Jan Fence. Would highly recommend to others for their service and will definitely call upon them for future fencing needs! Thanks again!!

We were very happy with the whole process from start to finish. From the salesperson in the store to the people on the phone, everyone was helpful and pleasant. We went to the store and arranged for an estimate. The person came on time, measured our property and gave us the written estimate. Called to schedule the job and was given an estimate of the first week of July. They told us they would call us 48 hours before to confirm that the date was good for us. They called 2 days before to confirm. They arrived a little earlier than expected but that was not a problem. The man reviewed with me what was to be done and showed me some trouble spots which were resolved with no problems. They need to come back to install one small section but it's not a big deal. We would definately recommend them.

We needed to replace our old & broken split-rail fence with a permanent, low maintenance metal rail fence. We also needed a gate at one end & something much nicer that faced the entrance. Our request for information was responded to immediately & shortly after, Anthony was at our house with a full folder of brochures on the company & products, but more importantly, a clear knowledge & plenty of experience of what the process entailed & any options that were available to us. Based on our prior research, we knew that Jan Fence was fully licensed, insured, an Angie's List preferred service company as well as listed with the NJ Better Business Bureau. The comments were all positive so we checked out the website, visited the office on Rt. 23 to see all the options in person. The fence style we were most impressed with was the aluminum fence, it had superior construction - using interior locking pivots which avoids the need for screws that would eventually rust. We also selected a very nice trellis gate for the front entrance. As soon as we accepted the estimate, we were informed of an estimated schedule, which unfortunately was delayed several days (a week?) due to the abnormal amount of rain days we had in NJ. However, Jennifer always kept us up-to-date as to when they could start. Once Mauricio and the crew did come on site, they were respectful, focused, worked through a short rain fall and finished in the time that we were told. The old fence was difficult to remove because we had stapled 4' wire fence to the back of the whole length, but they never complained. Plus our area is full of rocks so digging the holes for the fence was quite the chore, but they handled it like the professionals they are. They even accommodated special requests to save or trash certain items & as a final task, inspected each rail, adjusting or cleaning where needed. Just shortly afterwards, Ashley contacted us to find out how everything worked out, if we were happy with the product & service, and if we had any concerns. There were no negatives, no surprises, the costs are exactly what we were told they would be and I would definitely use Jan Fence again or recommend them to anyone.

It went excellent.They were ten minutes early and finished on one of the hottest days of the year so far by end of afternoon. They were neat workers (just two), very careful of environment ( i.e., neighbors outdoor chairs, etc. that were close to the other side of the fence). Their cleanup was excellent. You couldn't tell anyone had been there except the area was raked neatly and of course the bright white fence stands out. Overall they performed admirably and I'm thrilled with the new product.

Jan Fence was very professional throughout the entire process. They came to my house to give an estimate and were very formal with their review of our survey and showed pictures on their iPad. They weren't the cheapest (middle price out of 3 companies), but they were the most professional and had the best product. They back it up with a warranty and all of their sales people are responsive. We were told it was a 4-5 week wait for installation, but they called in about 2 weeks with an opening. They worked all day to complete the job, and it was perfect when they were done. Everything was cleaned up as if they never had been there. They also gave us a few hundred dollars back since the fence line ended up being slightly smaller than estimated. I'd use them again and recommend as well.

Great job, my fence looks wonderful! The gates are very sturdy and have locks. Price was fair, instillation was one day they cleaned up after themselves. Love my new fence!

Positives: - Price was competitive - Once I accepted the job and put down the deposit the fence was installed in less than two weeks. Finished job was better than expected. - My installation layout was a little funky so the installers checked in with me throughout the installation to make sure I was okay with what they were doing which I appreciated. - Installation is guaranteed for two years, materials have manufactures lifetime warranty Negatives: - Per contract, customer is responsible for obtaining permits and permissions. While this was fine for me, I can see this being an issue for someone who does not know how to obtain or interpret their local ordinances. - Debris from post holes was left next to each post. Even if ground debris removal was not included in contract I would have liked to have the option to pay extra for it as it was a pain to clean up, especially given the rocky soil on my property. - I was offered two types of fence materials in my quote. The cheaper of the two materials was something that they had just started to offer but did not have samples for yet. I checked back three weeks after receiving the offer and they still did not have the samples in yet. I decided on the more expensive material since I wanted to move ahead with the job and could not commit to purchasing something I could not look at first. That being said, the job was still very competitively priced even with the more expensive material but I just don?t think I should have been offered a product that they could not show me a sample for.

AN ESTIMATED DATE WAS GIVEN BECAUSE OF THE WEATHER WE HAD BEEN EXPERIENCING. THEY ADVISED ME THAT THEY WERE A LITTLE BACK-LOGGED BECAUSE OF THIS SITUATION. I TOTALLY UNDERSTOOD AND TOLD THEM THAT I COULD WAIT UNTIL THEY HAD AN AVAILABLE DATE. I WAS CALLED IN A FEW DAYS AND WAS TOLD THAT SOMEONE HAD CANCELLED AND ASKED IF THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO COME TO COMPLETE OUR JOB. I TOLD THEM IT WAS OK BECAUSE WE WOULD BE HOME. THEY ARRIVED WITH EVERYTHING THEY NEEDED - COMPLETED THE JOB - REMOVED ALL RUBBLE AND LEFT US WITH A VERY SASTISFIED EXPERIENCE. THE WORKERS WERE VERY PLEASANT AND SPOKE TO US DURING THE JOB ASKING US IF EVERYTHING WAS BEING DONE AS REQUESTED. AFTER MY DAUGHTER SAW THE RESULTS, SHE CALLED JAN FENCE AND ASKED THEM TO COME TO HER HOME (WHICH SHE HAD JUST MOVED INTO) AND GIVE HER AN ESTIMATE FOR A CHAIN LINK FENCE. SHE WILL BE HAVING THE WORK DONE AROUND THE END OF THIS MONTH IF THE WEATHER COOPERATES.. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.

Our neighbor suggested Jan Fence to us. I checked out their reviews on Angie's list to get a second opinion. They came out within 3 days of my initial call to look at our yard. They were 1 of 3 estimate we compared. Wasn't the lowest price at first although not bad at all compare to the highest quote but Brian the estimator was very friendly and willing to come down a little more to match the lower price once he was certain that we were comparing silimlar products being used. We went with them and couldn't be happier with the service. 4 guys showed up on the date service was scheduled, confirmed with us where we want the fences and started working. We checked on them few times its was clear that they know what they are doing and good at it. They finished around 4, took our old fence with them and cleaned up and there was no issues at all. The fence looks great.

Crew showed up on time, they did not make a big mess either in the break down of the old fence or the installation of the new fence. the fence was inspected and any damaged boards were replaced. All work completed same day.

I called Jan due to there great reviews. Due to hurricane Sandy a portion of my vinyl fence had damage to three posts and two panels. The job required digging up the three posts, pouring new cement, installing new posts and panels. Individual came to residence on time to inspect the job. It was determined by the estimator that due to the fact that Jan did not carry the fencing that we had they would not do the job. Very disappointed I was not informed of this policy prior to them coming out for an estimate. It was a complete waste of my time.
