Over the 10 years we’ve been in this house we’ve called people to come snake out clogs, but a leaky 1st floor shower drain than soaked through our basement bathroom ceiling was the first time we needed a “plumber” plumber. We called Aquino Plumbing based on Google reviews: 31 of them (a good sample size); all “5 stars” (universal praise is unusual); and what those reviews said (prompt, responsive, transparent, honest, skilled). So glad we called, and we’re happy to add our own 5-star review. Texted them on a Sunday and heard back that day. By Monday we had arranged a Tuesday AM appointment, and Ross appeared on time as promised. What looked to me like an impossible-to-reach problem that might involve pulling the shower apart from the first floor took Ross about 10 minutes to assess. He gave us flat price for the job that was so much less than what we were expecting I was SURE he would end up adding to it at the end with “extra time” or “unanticipated this-and-that”. I think it took a little longer than expected, but Ross found a way to make the space he needed from underneath. And after running out to get the parts he needed, he made pretty quick work of the job once he got going. The plumbing he removed might have been “DIY” work from a prior owner of the house. Ross explained what he found (or didn’t find) in that work, which explained why it started leaking over time. He explained what he was doing differently so that I had a better understanding. Looking at that drain now, there’s such a clear difference between professional plumbing work and the work of someone who just tried to figure it out. The leak is now gone, and we have confidence it is gone for good. And the price he quoted before he stated the work is the price he charge at the end. Working with Ross is exactly as everyone else has already noted. Very impressive all the way around. High praise. No negatives. If we ever need a plumber again, he gets the call without hesitation; and we’ll recommend him to family and friends whenever anyone asks.
