Description of Work: Insulated attic space on 3rd floor along with install of Mini AC & heating split in 3rd floor loft. Replaced AC and heat furnace with high efficiency units along with power vented 50 gallon water heater. Overall pleased with installation and service which done timely and professionally. My only concerns were their response to questions required multiple calls/emails follow up. Installed units above were on the higher end compared to other quotes but a year later everything seems to be working well. Would recommend service to others!

Description of Work: Our air conditioner stopped working on one of the hottest days of the year. I was in Europe for work and my family was stuck in the heat. They were able to get out to us the same day and fixed the problem.

Description of Work: They evaluated completely HVAC service with replacement of a new 4 ton (5 ton blower) heating and air/conditioning unit for a large >100 year old home. The previous owner to us had gutted the house and done a total re-fit down to the studs, but I m sad to say that the general contractor and his sub-contractors did sub-par work, like running forced air duct work up poorly insulated runs to 2nd and 3rd floor rooms, sub par insulating to name just a few things. Our heating bills in the winter were through the roof and we were barely comfortable in coldest winter days (single digit degree days) and the air conditioning did not keep the house comfortable on moderate to very hot days. So, consequently we all got acclimated to surviving with floor and ceiling fans. As our existing unit died and 2-3 various repairmen visited us until our compressor was pronounced dead, we needed to replace and Alber was recommended by a contractor friend. He said they ll be more expensive but very thorough. They were. They did a thorough review of our heat losses and gave us several options at various cost points. I had an infrared survey done when we moved into the house a decade earlier and thought I had tightened up all the insulations leaks (where the previous contractors men left insulation runs unfinished, added blown-in insulation to several areas, foam sprayed several other areas, filled in crawl space sub-floor insulation) but Alber's men identified other attic, 3rd floor areas and basement areas still permitting cold penetration and after we decided to proceed with them, though not an inexpensive unit replacement and insulating fix, in the long run their service has made us very comfortable. The improved insulation and more efficient newer condensing unit has reduced our months of heating and A/C usage by about 25-30%, which is exactly what they predicted we might expect. They were the only company which seemed to embrace our complete situation. They gave their word on giving us their best man to retro-fit insulation and not cut corners (I felt they really did things like they were doing things to their own homes) and have no regrets over the money spent or the decision made to do the work they did here. Their salesman was extremely knowledgeable and took the utmost time to go over every nauseating detail that I inquired of him. He was very patient with me. I would highly recommend them for a complex HVAC resolution to your home without reservation and didn't seem to fear tackling a complex job.

Description of Work: Had a new heating system installed in our home in 2005. Maintained a service contract each year up until 2011 and all work was professionally handled. I used this company for a service call for my AC unit and was charged $89 for a service fee which ended up only with the filter being replaced on the unit. The service person was here for approximately 10 minutes. As was a heating customer, I felt I should have received a break on the AC repair. Otherwise, a good company.
