Advanced Professional Plumbing Heating & Cooling

A guy named Mark came and looked it over. He then called the manufacturer and had a conversation with them. He didn't do anything to the heater while he was on the phone with the manufacturer. He hung up and said $695 to repair my hot water heater. I was shocked. I told him I would get other quotes. It seemed likely I would just replace the unit as the price seemed absurd. I called the manufacturer immediately after he left, gave them my info and they had the record of just talking to the plumber, Mark. They gave me some simple instructions on how to restart the heater. It worked fine and the heater turned on. The manufacturer told me that they had just told the plumber the same thing, but he never did the reset! He just said $695!!! He didn't charge me for his assessment, but had he restarted the heater I would have expected to pay him for an hour's work or something like that.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It went very well. I didn't pay any additional except for a few bucks for the tax.

Found a leak inside an outside wall. We turned off all water to the house as only way to stop the problem. Called Advanced at 7am and Advanced was here, as they said on the phone, by 9am. They found the source pipe and after removing part of the wall to get access, replaced a section of the pipe and put the water back on. All good.

Overall excellent experience. Some hiccups in the scheduling (didn't come at scheduled time initially and I didn't receive a call so it had to be re-scheduled) but the service was excellent. The worker was knowledgeable, cautious, courteous and let me know what he was doing. He also gave me good advice regarding other things that need to be done. Would use them again without hesitation.

So far the sink in holding, there are no leak or shaking.

I purchased toilet inspection through Angie list. I called and scheduled initial appointment. Technician did not show, I called and Mark explained that he was dealing with water emergency. He rescheduled and was flexible enough to send a tech on the weekend. Technician was an hour late, but was polite and pleasant, responsive, recommended replacement. Looked over plumbing in the house, gave me a good suggestion how to approach it and left. He was not pushy and seemed honest and focused on the problem at hand. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

Do not understand what we need

He was prompt and professional and accepted the "Big Deal" as payment in full. Before he left, he double-checked the toilet with the new part.

These guys saved us! We were literally out the door to leave for a week-long vacation. I stepped over to the thermostat to change the settings, and noticed it was very low--and that only cool air was coming in through the vents, even though it was on 'hot.' We had to leave that day, so we went right down the line on Angie's List--luckily, AP was second. I asked if they could send someone soon, and sure enough, a technician was at our home within two hours. He was friendly and completely non-intimidating (at times contractors can be brusque, which is fine, but being friendly is a nice bonus). Not only did he quickly diagnose the issue and replace the broken sensor, he showed us the broken part and then walked through every room of the house, checking each vent and adjusting them to maximize air flow throughout. This last service was at no extra charge. I strongly recommend this excellent, friendly business--as I said, they saved the day. Our pipes almost certainly would have frozen, and we still left that day for vacation.

Was able to stop water by turning off humidifier. Did not provide any real suggestions of how to fix the problem without turning off the humidifier or doing expensive upgrade. My problem with this provider is that while he was looking at the system my heater stopped working and the technician pointed out the crack on igniter. Granted, it was an old igniter, it was kind of weird if not suspicious it happened exactly at the same time. My heater was working fine all time before this event. And water leak was related to not proper draining. I would not raise the flag but technician mentioned how "expensive" the igniter is and it will cost $275 + tax to change it. I understand you need to come and I need to pay for visit, but please don't claim that $20 to $40 piece (retail) that can be easily changed (one screw and one contact claim) is expensive. Fortunately for me, my neighbor had the spare part and I could do it myself.

I love this company. Mark, one of the owners the best.He told us our 50 year old furnace should be replaced because if anything broke they wouldn't be fix it. We had a wonderful experience with Mark and his company. The BEST company I've ever dealt with. P.S. They even brought us fresh dunkin donuts and coffee and they clean up after themselves. The BEST!!!!!!!!

they were fine. bought them on a big deal. they sort of jiggled a few things and then left. didn't really listen too well to what i was concerned about. never took off shoes.

On Sunday night, a pipe that was frozen burst in my laundry room. I went on Angie's list immediately and called Advanced Professional Plumbing. It was after 10PM. I spoke to Mark, who told me he would send someone the next day. We had already shut off the water and cleaned up, so it was not emergent that he come right then. The plumber "Steve" called before he arrived. He showed up in the time frame I was quoted. He acessed the problem, told me what had to be done and I agreed to the work. He did the job quickly and efficiently. He was a very pleasant and polite young man. I must say the space that he had to work in was small, and he worked quickly with no complaint. When he was finished, he cleaned up we settled up, he gave me some promotional materials and left. I was very happy with the work, and I would refer them out or use them again when necessary. First - while responsive via phone answering - difficult to schedule and was one and a half hours late. There was no professional lead as to the "plumbing inspection" - just wanted to see known areas of problem. When it came time to "fix" the one offending toilette that does not flush properly, he quoted an additional price of $75!. To which I checked on Amazon and found the universal pricing starting at $10.00. So, no inspection and no fixing of my toilette. Still in search of a proper plumber! I would NEVER use this provider again and I have never written such a scathing review either! To date, I have been very satisfied with Angies LIst Big Deals.

Upon arrival it was determined that the work would require a few hours and parts. So we made the appointment for Sunday (yea they worked on Sunday with no additional cost to me). They arrived promptly and got to work replacing the expansion tank, relief valve and air vent. Everything was done in an reasonable amount of time. I cant remember the name of the technicians but they were very polite and provided great service.

He called ahead and arrived right on time, and he performed the services required by the offer.

Gave me advice on further repairs, but didn't try to push the work because it wasn't needed quite yet.

Quick service and Very professional.

Despite not having worked with the company before, they were very responsive to my call (on a holiday no less). They arrived within the timeframe specified and performed their work quickly and professionally. Although it's hard to be satisfied with the cost for an emergency job, I didn't feel like it was totally unreasonable.

He was rude when we spoke. He claimed to have called and left a message, but he never did. He called the wrong phone number even after I gave him the current phone number twice. He told me he showed up and that I was not here. He didn’t knock; he just called the number and assumed I wasn’t home. I waited all day for him but never heard anything. I asked him why I had an attitude and he responded, “I’m being rude to you? You’re being rude to me. I don’t need to be nice to you.” He was just nasty and rude.

We were not sure what's causing the leaking. Since my tub was covered by tiles with no access panel (the previous owner of our house made a choice choosing beautiful style over practicality...) Steve from AP decided to take one step at a time rather than chipping open the tiles. He believe it was the old valve that's causing the leak and suggested to replace that first then see. He ordered the replacement part before the holidays and AP called me while I was on holiday to let me know the part arrived and scheduled a time for replacing. It's been few days so far so good, fingers crossed. While he was at our house I asked him to give me an estimate for adding a pump to my hot water tank. I believe he gave a fair price so gave him the green light on the job. He did the job as scheduled now we don't have to wait few mins for water to turn hot on 3rd fl. Steve was polite clean and very professional. He explained everything clearly, itemized all the charges and expenses. We will surely be using his company for the future.

When they came out, cleared the drain, I thought, I had an hour of service, and had more time left, so I asked about another drain. He then asked about what I had purchased, and I came to learn the drain clearing would've been more, and not included in the "hour of service". I feel the problem was with Angies List, as it wasn't clearly stated what could be done, and more importantly, what couldn't. Hence the overall of a "B".

No work was done. I was extremely impressed with the honesty of Steve the person who came for the job. He explained in detail and did not try to sell me a bill of goods. I will definitely be calling upon them in the future. Good people to work with.

, The experience was stress-free. Mark demonstrated great competency. Kept appointment as scheduled. Was thorough in explaining problem. Did not try to sell me additional services. Regarding my query of future remodeling of said bathroom indicated to take my time to make decisions, to obtain several estimates, that they would be available for consultation if needed.. It was a refreshing experience. Would call them again if needed.
